On 10/2/2002, ****** ***** had $49.67 removed from checking acct debit card from Taco Bell#******. It posted to account on 10/4/2022. This was a charge out of North Miami, FL. He never left the state of MI. The fradulent charge was discovered over the that weekend. The toll free number had no one on duty to take down the compliant until Monday. The money was returned to checking acct on 10/5/2022. Reversal debit card on 11/7/2022 for 49.67.
We have called the toll free number numerous times. Also spoke to ****** ******** at Adrian Huntington. This was after returning paperwork that was to be faxed from the Adrian branch stating it was a fraudulent charge. The debit card was shut down and replaced by Huntington. Today 11/13/2022 I spoke to Santana in Columbus, OH. I was told a decision would be made by Wednesday, 11/16/2022 regarding a fraudlent charge. I have contacted Taco Bell in the past and they blame it on their app. All I know is I was never at this Taco Bell in FL. My brother, ****** ***** was with me in Hudson, MI when this debit alerted me on the phone. My wife, ***** ************* was home in Adrian, MI. We each had possession of our debit cards. Huntington Bank is now stating I handed over my debit card. This is untrue and this matter of refunding my money 49.67 should have been resolved by now. Huntington Bank has advised me to use their credit card instead of a debit card going forward. I did open up a credit card after this fiasco mess.Business Response

On 10/28/22 my account was credited for the dispute in the amount of 279.00 as a result of a fraudulent charge.
On 11/7/22 I received a letter indicating the dispute was changed and would deduct the 279.00 from my account.
A representative informed me that there was no fraud department at Huntington Bank and that I would have to seek other actions. When this occurs, these fraudulent transactions are stated to be protected by the bank.Business Response

This is regarding payroll deposit for November 11 th Veterans Day which are electronically deposited to Huntington banks accounts however due to the holiday no funds are available until the next business day and they have a recording stating November 15 7am However other banks have allowed deposits from employers Huntington bank has not posted payroll deposit checks that are electronically transferred to your personal checking account and to my knowledge there was no email or no correspondence to advise customers that Huntington bank was not going to recognize deposits on Veterans Day.Business Response

I have had direct deposit for my paycheck through my job since July of this year. I never know when I am going to get paid. I am supposed to get paid Friday mornings weekly. Sometimes I get it early on Thursdays with no reasoning or warning. This week, because of Veterans day, I did not get paid at all. Everyone else in my company got paid because they use a different bank. If The Huntington Bank is going to recognize a holiday differently than everyone else, I would think they would make certain plans to get people their money in a timely fashion. I live paycheck to paycheck as many of us do, especially right now and to be surprised by just not getting my money until Monday is absolutely not alright. I have automatic bills coming out that can not only affect me receiving those services or goods, it could affect my credit. I also cannot get things as simple as gas and groceries. This is unacceptable and I will be switching banks when The Huntington finally decides to open and are doing transactions.Business Response

On 11-07-2022, I entered the hunting bank at ***** ******* *** , after going through the metal sector several times a tell says to me you need to go through the dector ,ok as I approached the teller I stated why do I ALWAYS HAVE A PROBLEM HERE , THE TELLER THEN SAYS YOU CAN GO ELSEWHERE,I STATED I'LL CALL THE COPORATRE OFFICE , SHE SAID GO AHEAD NOTHING IS GOING TO HAPPEN. By then the manager enter the conversation , saying may I help, we all went back and forth. I left the bank and I called **** ***** (regional manger) left message Three days later he
returned my call. He stated: we are going to terminate all your accounts we no longer want to do business with you because of another complaint. A series of fraudulent charges appeared against our checking account. This was flagged by Huntington, and we called to confirm that these were fraudulent charges. Despite this, Huntington allowed the charges to go through and be debited against our account, saying it is their policy to let the charges go through and then dispute them. They then claimed to lock the ATM/Debit cards and mail out new cards, which we have yet to receive.
Today, just three days later, another series of fraudulent charges appeared in the same form. So clearly Huntington has no ability to stop fraudulent activity from happening on our checking account.Business Response

My bank account was hit for fraud from Parx and DraftKings. Huntington not only credited me all transactions but sent letters confirming it was definitely fraud yet when 1 last charge was retried by DraftKings for $100 they will not credit that. I completed the forms and faxed to them on 10/18. How can all charges be considered fraud except 1 from the same place? I even opened a new bank account with Huntington to prevent the hackers from accessing my account further. I am rejecting this response because: I don’t understand how they can reject the final $100 fraud charge after they’ve already confirmed all the others were in fact fraud. I even opened a new bank account as they suggested to avoid my account being hit any further. I have to pay my sons overdue speech therapy. I’m a newly single mom covering an entire mortgage and all the bills myself because my soon to be ex husband isn’t helping at all since he left. I’m just trying to keep going and get my son the speech therapy he needs. He’s autistic and I can’t continue services until I pay my balance.

Deposited a check on Sunday November 6th, 2022 and was told by 3 people that work for a particular Huntington branch (**** ********* *** ********* *** *****) my funds would be available Tuesday November 8th because Sunday was not a business day and was even told by a gentleman in Huntington’s collections department that there would be no hold placed on my deposit and that I would have access to the funds (totaling around $6,000) at 12 am on the 8th of November. After all of this I get an email approximately 30 minutes-1 hour later saying a hold WAS placed on my deposit and I could not access the funds until the 14th and when I contacted the Huntington branch where I made the deposit ***** ********* *** ********* *** *****) to inquire about this I was then treated like crap by one lady in particular and was even told by that same lady that I was lying about what I was told and hadn’t talked to anyone (which I have proof that I did). Was basically made fun of for not being able to pay my bills or eat for the next week and told the lady as soon as my check clears I’m taking my money out and closing my account and will most certainly be taking my money to another bank. I will not be treated like crap just because some lady hates her job and can’t explain why it would take 7 days for my check to clear.Business Response

I spoke to customer service with Huntington Bank on 9/21/22, I was promised a fee reversal if I made a deposit of a certain amount. I made that deposit, but never got fees back that i was promosed. I spoke to customer service again on 11/1/22 and was told the same thing. I again did this and did not receive my fee refund as promised. I went into a Huntington branch and sat down with a banker, who promised me a call back in 2 hours. Never received that call. I'm a Detroit Fire fighter on workman's compensation with a limited and fixed income. I've been broke and my account has been negative for 2 months. I've been lied to repeatedly by Huntington Bank. They refused to close my account until I'm at a $0 balance, which is also a lie. They closed by finances account and she made monthly payments until it was $0. I've been trying to get what I was promised and resolution for over 6 weeks.Business Response
