I setup a 12 month interest free plan to purchase jewelry through Zales. After making my eight month payment I called Comenity to setup auto-pay for the remainder of my plan. I did this in installment amounts that would leave a zero principle balance after the 12th payment. A week after my final installment was due they start calling me about a missed payment and that I now owe an additional $220 in interest fees. When speaking to a supervisor they claimed auto-pay can only be setup for 3 installments, but that was never explained to me (and makes absolutely no sense as a financial institution). The last installment amount was equal to the principal
balance, but they didn't take it so I would be charged interest. Even after making my final principle payment with a supervisor (2 weeks after plan expired) they still will not adjust the interest charges.
This company is deceitful in an attempt to make money through their so called interest free plans. I would not recommend financing anything through Zales if Comenity is their partner. The customer service reps have no record of ongoing disputes and I've yet to receive proof that I was told about a 3 installment max policy.

Can I give a rating of ZERO? This company is AWFUL. Tried to register online for months to access the account and could not gain access. Kept receiving a message that the account was already registered. But yet, I do not have a username or password. Called them several times to resolve the issue to be told it was an IT problem. But after 2 months of waiting, they still had not resolved the issue. I called 6/26/24 and made a payment by phone to pay off the full balance, received a confirmation number and then closed the account. The day the bill is due 7/5/24, I receive a letter stating that the full amount is still owed, so I call again. Apparently, my original payment did not post because I used another credit card, and they don't take credit cards. Funny how - even though I told the man that I was using a credit card, he took the information and he gave me a confirmation number. Unfortunately I was unable to call until 5:30pm and so now my payment is a day late, even though I JUST found out that my payment on 6/24/24 did not go through, so the account will now have a late fee added to it. This company is the worst. PLEASE RUN - DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!

Beware! I just closed my account after being treated so disrespectfully! Comenity Bank -Academy Credit Card gave zero grace after I accidently forgot to pay a $40 statement charge and was charged two late payments. Mind you, I have NEVER ONCE been late before and always paid my statements in full. Their reminder system is mediocre as my email inbox is so inundated with spam ads from academy that I missed any statement, and the reminder calls from phone number dropped when I answered leading me to believe it was robo/spam calls. The website is even misleading as they separate charges from online and in-store, leading me to believe that I was not missing a payment but I didn't realize I was on the online tab which is the default view. After bringing all of this to Comenity's attention, they gave me a credit back of one late charge and interest fees after I paid the account in full. However, after requesting for grace, they would not remove the late payment off of my account causing my credit score to decrease and to add insult to injury, the bank then decreased my credit limit from $1,500 to $300!!! A disgraceful company not worthy of any customers.

Horrible Company, You can make a large payment several months in advance and they'll still try to stick it to you and find ways to overcharge or apply unauthorized charges to your account. If a customer pays on time and makes large payments in advance they shouldn't be overcharged to make up the difference it's a horrible and bad business plan. I will never use this company again.

This credit card by Comenity Bank, issued by Ulta, is a fraud. I gained the card via a purchase at Ulta. It allowed me 3 purchases and questioned every one. The last one they froze my account due to fraud. I validated my identity numerous times to have it escalate. The customer service number is to sell you Medicare insurance and Dish TV, NO CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! They couldn’t sell me anything so after I sent them my identification in paper form to 2 locations they canceled my card. I NEEDED this credit line for my Heath care and I’m suing for fraud. They’ve refusing to print all of my purchases out but want me to pay and are aggressive about it. It’s obvious I was never getting that credit and using that fraudulent phone number is it for me. I’m coming for you!!!

Worst compNy ever. Terrible service. Cannot talk to anyone beyond a beginner. My account has been in dispute for a year. June 22 2023. They owe me $98.65 from a twice returned check when I paid off my balance and had this refund coming to me in the process. No one can understand what happened. It’s very clear to me and I’ve sent them my bank statements and I’ve written, but you cannot call and talk to anyone in dispute. Now I seem to be getting letters saying good news we issued you a refund, but they keep coming with no date, no hint of win this refund will come or how much it is. They say in the coming months they are useless. I know the amount now is $1.48 which I don’t care if I ever see they can give it to the pizza delivery guy, it’s so ridiculous. I don’t know how this company can survive. Do not deal with them run away and complain every day if you can, if you have an issue like mine if you have the patience for it or if you like to yell at people because that’s what will happen .

Terrible credit card handling !! They decline "Autopay" for no valid reason ; claimed they sent a text to cell phone to verify transaction but we never received the texts . Not our choice of bank but our AAA membership department decided to switch our credit card accounts from Bank of America ( never had a problem ) to Comenity for all of its members ; initial transfer took 3 months and each month our charges were not being debited to our checking account ; of course Comenity was not charging interest but our credit rating took a nosedive until the Bank finally figured it all out . We are seriously considering cancelling our credit card accounts with Comenity as soon as our current issues have been resolved . In short......don't do business with Comenity !!!!!!!!
