This company is a joke I have a few cards with this place .....they lowered my limit from 1500 down to 500 then 300 then 100 each time it was reduced it was set at just a few dollars above my balance.....then send me a letter stating it's because of my credit score well if they would stop running it and then lowering my limits to just above my balances my debit to income wouldn't look so bad I'm paying ALL of them off 1 at a time and closing them......why keep a bunch of cards with 100 credit limits I don't reccomend ever having this company they are theives....hopefully more people will speak out and shut down people like this

Disappointing experience from start to finish. I applied a Sephora card in December 2023 to get the 25% off for Christmas purchases. I was approved immediately, but advised that I would not receive the 25% discount until I received the physical card via mail which took around 10 days. Really defeated the purpose as all the items would be sold out by the time I received the card. Upon finally receiving the card I was still unable to use due to them needing requiring proof of identity and even request picture of my Social Security Card! Sent them everything except my SS card. Received a letter today stating they closed my account. Attempted calling them, only to be hung up on! Terrible or more like non-existent customer service.

I too have had an issue with the transition from Dell's *** to Comenity. In addition to almost all of the issues already listed in previous reviews, I too a 62 point hit on my Credit Report rating because they effectively closed and active account with *** in good standing for almost 10yrs and opened up a new account.
I urge everyone on here that is/was a part of the *** to Comenity transition to check their credit score and see if you have been negatively impacted.
I would guess that with enough negative reviews (435 at the time of writing this) and having only been accredited since 11/19/2023 (less than 2 months), the BBB may investigate and change their rating and accreditation.
Also, if enough people are having/have had this many issues, so far, there may be some sort of class action litigation in the works. After all, I am only looking at this specific group of reviews because they were the first ones to come up. I don't actually live in Central Ohio so I am guessing that "Globally", the negative reviews are pretty high.

My husband and I opened up a credit card through our jeweler to upgrade my wedding ring for our 25th wedding anniversary. It was zero interest for a year. My husband made payments every month and we set alarms on our phones in our calendars to make sure we paid off the remainder of the amount EARLY so we wouldn’t have to pay the interest. We went to our bank. We got the final payout amount, our bank sent a check to the address they have listed on their website and our check WAS THERE not only on time, it was a week or two early!!! We assumed everything was taken care of until we got a bank statement saying we owed the full interest amount. We were shocked!!! Cuz we knew had paid it off early. So we went to the bank and went back-and-forth a few different times till we figured out what exactly happened. The bank sent the check to the address listed on their website and Comenity bank says that that is not their “payment processing address”. So they said our payment was late. Therefore, they said we owed the interest on the full amount of our purchase. Very clever way to screw people over. We went back to our bank and looked up their website right in the bank office and that is the only address that was on their website. OUR PAYMENT WAS ON TIME!!. Our bank sent the payment to the address on the website. WE HAVE PROOF OF ALL OF THIS and they still refuse to remove the interest charges. This is completely unacceptable business. Trying to take advantage of people in this way is just wrong! This is $3,517.27!! I am contacting a lawyer! I will NOT be taken advantage like this! I quickly read through a few other complaints about this company and it looks like similar things have happened. I really hope Comenity bank starts to do better with their customers but after talking to their customer service department, it really seems as though they could really care less. And that’s really pathetic and sad.

Absolutely disgusting and disparaging company. I have maintained stellar account management with Comenity, so much so that I have never needed to pay interest because I pay my balances in advance. During the holidays, Comenity decreased my credit limit by $300 without informing me. What a surprise to be Christmas shopping and have my card declined. What's even more upsetting is, my good friend who also holds an Express credit card through Comenity, has been late on her account several times; however, her line of credit has not been adjusted once. She is Caucasian and I am African American. I will be joining others in investigating the discriminatory actions of Comenity.

Customer Service Representative was rude not allowing a long standing customer to be transferred to a supervisor, previously was disconnected from a phone call when asking to speak to a supervisor. Was very argumentative when I asked if there was one time forgiveness of a late charge that was made on time.

My dell account was transferred to comenity ~9/2023. Made a purchase on 10/2023 and paid off the balanced early 11/2023. No hassle until about the latter part of 11/2023 when trying to purchase a Christmas gift. Comenity representative alert me that my account was frozen due to lack of activity. Upon further investigation, my account was frozen because the bank didn't have my physical address (just a POB) per a comenity supervisor. I was informed that a letter was sent to my POB with a physical address request form. I explained I never received the request and that I don't have any mail or document (other than my license) with my physical address. The supervisor encouraged me to submit a picture of my license to dell pay secure message to expedite the physical address update. This was done. The supervisor also stated that there will be a follow-up secure message within 48hrs to confirm. I never received this confirmation, so I called 48hs later. I was told the document was received and someone will contact me within 48hrs. No one did, so I called on 12/20 only to find out my account was closed because the picture of my license didn't include my picture, just my address. I've been a customer of dell of almost 20 years. No late payments and the account was paid; no remaining balance. My question is, how can everything from the previous dell financing group transfer (ie. my SS#, checking account, POB, DOB, email), but not my physical address? Further, since being a customer for almost 20 years, one would think dell would have the courtesy to email their customer if their requests weren't met. Ex. email, "We sent out a letter of 10/31/2023 requesting a updated physical address. We have yet to receive this request. If you don't submit proof of a physical address within 30 days, your account will be closed." I'm very disappointed with dell. I could further dispute all of this, but won't. I will never purchase from dell again.

Stay Away from this Bank and any associated credit cards. They have the Credit Card for Ulta.
They are unreasonable and customer service is extremely rude. I closed my account. The next month they sent me a bill for $2.00 in interest on my closed account. I called customer service - they told me they could not take this off of my closed bill and that they would continue to charge me interest and late fees each month on the $2.00. Unbelievable.

3 years ago I had gotten Covid and was in the hospital for 3 weeks in which I got behind on my Wayfair account. As soon as I was able I called them and set up a paymednt plan with Wayfair to pay 100 per pay day in which I was paying on time. Approximately 4 months later I got on line to make my payment and found my account had been closed with out notifying me. Comenity Bank had turned my account over for collections. Do Not trust this bank. Then I find out they continued to charge me interest on said account. Then to top it all off I find out that Comenity bank is actually owned by Bread Financial, so low and behold you have atleast 3 different parties involved plus a collection agency. BE VERY CAUTIOUS WHEN DEALING WITH THIS BANK

I had the worst experience with comenity bank, no one told me after a year I would be charged all the interest at once I have another line of credit that is no interest for 18 months I thought this was the same. I was lied too and taken advantage of. When I offered to pay the principal in full they said if I called 1 week ago that would have been possible. I was misled by ****** and this bank after spending an enormous sum with them
