      Bread Financial rejected a CD application but wouldn't tell me why. I was told it wasn't credit related then also told there was no one in the entire company who could tell me the reason for rejection and therefore no way for me to remedy the situation. If a bank rejects an application and refuse to say why, except that it's not credit related, how does anyone know it's not in some way illegally discriminatory? I guess we don't and can't find out from bank representatives so they can discriminate with no repercussions because no one can prove they did anything discriminatory because you won't tell them why the application was rejected. Makes my head spin.

      This company provided the most inept, frustrating customer service experience of my life, wrongly withholding $250 from me for nearly six months as a result.
      On Feb 2nd I received an email informing me of a $250 rewards redemption on my Visa card. It was clearly fraudulent. I responded to the email and messaged Comenity through the website to tell them it was fraud. I also called the company and spoke to someone for over an hour detailing what happened.
      I received no communication from the company for several weeks, and then months. When I messaged them through the website, I got stock replies. When I called, I got conflicting messages from their customer service personnel which left me with the impression that no action was actually being taken.
      Four months after my initial complaint, they sent me a letter asking me to write them and describe what happened, even though I had already explained the situation multiple times on recorded lines. They clearly had not been doing anything to process my complaint. After I wrote them, they replied with “Thank you for contacting us… please allow up to 90 days for us to complete our investigation.” No acknowledgement that this was an ongoing case. No recognition that I had been trying to deal with this for months. Nothing.
      Later in July, I complained to them on Twitter. They messaged me back, telling me to call the rewards center. The folks at the rewards center said they had no record of my complaint, and no open dispute! After five and a half months, all my attempts to get their attention had produced nothing in their organization. Nobody was talking to each other.
      Eventually, I went back to the Twitter customer service person, and they were able to investigate the issue and restore my rewards balance in less than 48 hours! They had the ability to handle it the whole time, but the company strung me along for months without communication because of their ineptitude and contempt for me as a customer.

      Do not shop with Boscov's Department Store who uses this bank ! Paid off the balance to zero. Bill was due on a Sunday, they received it on a Monday, charged a late fee on a zero balance. Because I knew the bill was paid to zero, never saw that I had a late fee on a zero balance, then they charged me another late fee on an unpaid late fee, and refused to remove the two late fees. I work for another bank and I do not understand how a bank change charge interest and late fees on late fee on a zero principal balance? This company is horrible and then called and asked for someone to call back and never received a call. Now today AGAIN, after I paid what I was told was the balance, hoping to get reimbursed when a senior representative called back, I get ANOTHER statement charging me interest and another late fee when I paid the balance to zero!!!

      Comenity Capital Bank, under the Smile Generation Financial Credit Card Account seems to practice unethical practices to simply make more money off of their clients. Once you open an account, they push you to enroll in paperless billing in order to get you to not read the fine print regarding the interest free timeline. We charged Dental Services to the card a year ago under their "zero-interest" program and had the majority of the balance paid off within said year. As we unknowingly neared the end of the interest free period one would think that they would be kind enough to send a reminder that the period was nearing the end of terms - not a chance. They will however send you repeated promotions, reminders about appointments, bills coming due, and other nonsense, but a reminder that you will be incurring interest if you don't pay the balance within the next 30-60-90 days, no chance. Not only will they not remind you of that, but they will also not put any notification on their web site where you actually manage your account - even Home Depot does this!! Sadly, we were hit with an interest payment that was equal to the remaining balance on the account and now are told that we will not only have to pay additional interest, but we will incur even more interest on the interest they just charged to our account!! Their Service Reps are not at all helpful and simply don't care they work for a company who takes advantage of good people who may make an honest mistake. When asked if we could pay off the balance to avoid the interest immediately, we were told that is not their practice and there was nothing they could do. Had we known we would get hit with such a large interest charge doubling our balance we certainly would have paid the balance in full before the due date, but as I stated, Comenity doesn't care and uses this as a way to milk more money from good / honest people. RUN from this unethical company and RUN fast!!! No wonder they are not BBB accredited!!

      Comenity Capital Bank is the worst Bank to deal with, they're only care about taking money from people, nothing else. They charged me $547.99 as fee for only one month, I called them, texted them without any success. I will never ever take any card with them again. Don't deal with them people or, you will sincerely regret it!! This Bank is more than worst!!

      BUSINESS REFUSES TO STOP SENDING EMAILS - THIS IS POSTED ON THEIR EMAILS -
      This notification email has been sent to you as part of your Diamond Credit Card benefits. You will continue to receive these benefit notification emails even if you have requested not to receive commercial emails for this account.
      Poor customer service - something needs to be done. Tired of receiving emails and they have a way to get around spam filtering...

      It's not a bank. Is a scam.
      I can't:
      - create online account;
      - pay the bill online;
      - pay the bill over the phone.
      They don't send the bill in mail at all.
      CLOSE THIS so-called bank, please!!

      This is my 1st time to ever file a complaint against a business. I had a Talbots credit card for 20+ years and have always autopaid the statement balance on the due date. In 2022, Comenity tried to collect from a closed bank account rather than the bank account I had on file. They refused to refund late fees due to their error. The initial CSR who I spoke with at Comenity agreed with me that it was their error, yet I got a letter from the credit card department stating it was my error. I am now having the same issue with Comenity with my JJill credit card. In June, they charged $97 late fees/returned check fees -- there are 6 late fee/interest charges over a 1 month period. I have again submitted a request for a credit for these fees as my accounts are always autopaid with the statement balance on the due date. Comenity's customer service is one of the worst and I'm concerned they may be harming credit ratings of many credit-worthy customers. I'm not sure why legitimate businesses like Talbots and JJill are using this seemingly not legitimate credit card company.
