This bank told me they were going to waive a late fee and close my account. They proceeded to waive half of the fee (didn't mention on the phone they were only waiving half of the fee) and then they sent me a bill for the half they didn't waive plus another $30 fee. When contacted about why I have a $50 dollar balance when my account is closed they said I missed a payment. Not sure how I can miss a payment I don't know I'm on the hook for? The customer service *** said there's nothing they can do because my account is closed. So for their mistake, I'm forced to pay $50 for nothing. Pretty nice scam they're running. If I don't pay now, I'll just keep racking up more $30+ late fees.

Terrible company. Do not get a Michaels credit card from them. They charged me a late fee, even though I paid on the due date. This is the first and last time that I'll be using this credit card. Very disappointing.

Now he owes ***** Mind you my father is 84 living on SSI and he had to take money out of his savings to pay the acct off. ***** is customer service was willing to help. No response from the CEO *****.******** No wonder there have been court filing. Company has no heart for the elderly and for people who pay the bill in full 4 years early!!!!!

This bank is garbage, definitely a third tier bank. Their customer service is completely inadequate and brainless to say the least. Their website is consistently giving error messages and barely works on a good day. And lastly, and possibly the most important one, they dont protect you from fraud. This bank protects the thieves and the scammers instead.

Where to start??? I got a big lots card through comenity in 2022. I bought a couch and bedroom dresser. I picked them up from the store and brought them home. I inboxes them to find the dresser missing all hardware and found the couch was actually the best up floor model with the cut electrical cord for the light and outlets that are part of the recliner/couch. I returned both items and thought that was the last of it. They told me they would credit my account since I brought them back so quick and they apologized for boxing up the floor model and the dresser without hardware. They said it must have been one of the stockers. Ok. No harm, no foul. Fast forward to now. They sold a debt I had no idea I had to midland credit and I'm now being sued. I called and asked for information for when I returned the items since the same people no longer work at that big lots. They say they can't give me any information because they sold the debt and I have no right to ask for information to prove I returned the couch and dresser. I paid the payment for the extra things I bought on the card that totaled I think maybe $75 at most. I did not shop at big lots after that. I've heard nothing from comenity until I found out about this and called them. Now, the process server dropped the lawsuit documents in front of my door while I was at work. Almost positive, that is not legal. At least I believe that's what was dropped at my door. Currently at work and a neighbor called and told me someone was messing around by my front door. Fortunately, they did not take the time to look up and see the camera looking down at them. Both inside and outside cameras will show I did not answer my door and being clocked in at work on camera, will prove I was not home. Now I see why big lots is going out of businesses. This is unacceptable!!!!

I sent them a check to pay off the remaining balance on my account. For over a month, I kept getting calls from them, saying they never received my check. I sent them a picture of the check along with the paper statement. I talked to several different agents, and they were more concerned about receiving the payment than trying to find out where the check was; none of the agents would connect me with a supervisor. I called to find out if the check had been cashed and found out they sent the check back because the account number wasn't written on it. Prior to sending the check, they refused to provide me with my account number, and the full account number is not on the paper statement or my account. The only way they would give me my account number is by sending me a new card, which I told them I don't want. Now, they are charging me late fees and sending it to collections.

This company gets on my last nerve. Ive had an account with *************** for a few months, to which I didn't know that they were Comenity bank. Anyways, you get what you pay for. My issue is with the level of harassment and calls they make to you daily starting from 8am to 8:30pm. You can be 24 hrs late and the calls are nonstop. I even got text messages from them on Christmas. I do not owe them months of payments or anything of that nature, the account is less than 20 days past due but the incessant calls is going to run a lawsuit. I requested on multiple occasions to not be harassed every hour but their employees made it clear that they can call up to 8 times a day... like they pay my phone bill. Comenity bank has always had ethical business practices but harassing ppl on public holidays AND all hours of the day is just nasty work.

Looking at these other reviews it seems I dodged a bullet. I just applied on ****'s website for credit to take advantage of their zero interest for 12 months deal on a laptop. After putting in all the basic info a pop up occurred saying to call Comenity Capital Bank as they needed more information. I called, they asked for my SS#, Address, Phone, DOB, etc. I was then put on hold for a few minutes and when he came back I was told a letter would be going out to me for some further information. At this point I'm thinking "I'm applying for a credit card here, not a mortgage. If it was any other credit card I'd be done and approved by now". Then he continued to tell me they would need a copy of my driver's license front and back, a copy of my bank statement, and a couple of other ridiculous things and I stopped him cold and said "This is ridiculous, that's insane to go through all of that for a credit card, just cancel my application, I'm all set with this craziness" and at that point the call ended. I actually retraced my steps thru ****** site to make sure this was legit and I wasn't getting scammed somehow because it seemed so outlandish.. **** needs to get aligned with a MUCH better service.
