      Thought all was good with Nationwide. We have had them for 7 years, no claims on cars or house. They sent "risk assessment" guy out to make sure we were insured for enough and taking advantage of discounts. But then a week late we got a letter saying we needed to fix the fascia on the back of our house and replace our roof due to "curled shingles" or they were not going to renew our policy. They gave us 2 weeks to complete the fixes. I had just had surgery and couldn't do anything. The wouldn't work with us at all to get more time to get these done. You can't even get a contractor to come look at something like that in 2 weeks, much less get them there to fix it. And the fascia was missing WHEN WE BOUGHT THE HOUSE! They insure it then! They insured it for 7 years with it that way, it had been that way since day 1 of them insuring it. And all of a sudden it's a potential danger?! And when we couldn't find the "curled" shingles I reached out to them to see if they had pictures so we could find them. He said well the picture is a little blurry, it may just be a shadow. They wanted me to REPLACE MY ******** ROOF! Because of a SHADOW in a picture. Trash company. Nationwide not on your side at all! And my agent is of NO assistance. She basically just forwards my emails to people who can "help".

      If I could give less than one star, I would. The service I received was poor at best and negligent at worst. After a waterline break that flooded my house, the adjuster never responded to repeated emails, calls, or texts, until I found out three weeks later that he had not been negotiating with the remediation company because he was actually away from the office. It was nearly a month until I got anyone there to respond to me, since I was worried about the potential lien on my house and 2% late fee/month the remediation company could have charged. It took me contacting their claims assistance department, who said they would send an urgent message (still no response), the adjuster’s manager (who did respond), but ultimately the customer advocacy group to finally get them to do anything. Thank goodness for the customer advocacy group, which I only knew about from a friend who used to work there. Horrible company, atrocious service (except for the one department there that exists to make sure they do their job!). Hmmm….

      I have been insured with Nationwide for over 15 years and have NEVER filed a homeowners claim. I was sent a non renewal letter advising that my policy was going to be cancelled due to my roof having discoloration and streaking. I had several roofers come out and confirm that my roof was still good and that I had several more years on it. The roofer I used stated this and advised that the discoloration and streaking was just a cosmetic issue and could be treated. We sent pictures to them showing that the streaking and discoloration were gone after treatment and we still received a letter advising that we were being non renewed due to natural discoloration and streaking. How is that possible when that issue was corrected along with pictures showing proof? Please save your money and go to another company. It's like a slap in the face after being a loyal customer for so long.

      2022 we moved to the country total population is like 2,600 Insurance went down $50 a month. I got my renewal for my auto insurance 2023 and it went up $145 a month no wrecks no tickets what the heck. I called them and this is what they told me. It was because of the wrecks in my area they used to tell me that when I live in the city. And because of my age I only got a year older and I just turned 64 another excuse for going up on my insurance. I am a season driver and I've got very good credit with no tickets no wrecks and my husband's retired and I only go into work two days a week because I work my home the rest of the time. I found more and cheaper insurance than what they originally charging me.

      was in a accident with a nationwide customer and have been waiting for almost a month to have an adjuster to come look at my vehicle and settle. have been borrowing a vehicle now i guess i will have to get a rental car until we settle. nationwide could save a lot of money if they would just settle in stead of dragging things out. nationwide is not on your side

      Dishonest. Deceiving. Read everything if you already have an account. After taking out a $600k policy on $300k worth of household goods I found out what they didn’t cover jewelry. Garage tools. I found out my claims adjuster would hold on to my receipts long enough to find something wrong and deny my claim. I paid them for 5 years. When everything I owned was stolen, I felt like the thief. They treated me and my wife with no compassion. Chose another company. The negative ratings are real.

      I went to their website to get an online quote. Partway through, it tells me I must call an agent. Agent later admitted that they don't do online quotes anymore and the information rarely moves through to the agents. They need to remove online quote feature.
      Then I got the auto attendant. Only voice commands, no numbers to press. Auto attendant couldn't understand the word quote 3x. Understood representative first time, but couldn't transfer me until I said why I was calling. Sill didn't understand quote 3x. Finally moved on to what kind of policy. I said auto 3x and it couldn't understand me.
      When I did get to a person, it wasn't the right person. She asked which state I was from. I told her and she told the new agent she transferred me to. New agent immediately got my state wrong. When I told her which state I was in, she was perplexed.
      I had to answer all the online questions again. After all of that, she informs me that she will get me quotes for Nationwide and other places she's licensed with. Scammy much?
      A million questions later and a hold, then she informs me that due to mysterious criteria that she doesn't have access to, I don't qualify for Nationwide nor do I for any of her other non-Nationwide insurance companies.
      Absolute waste of time. Online quotes don't work. Automated menu doesn't work. Agents can't get quotes for people call in.
      Ridiculous.

      TERRIBLE !!!!!!
      They are not on your side . Was a loyal customer for 5 years, auto pay never late a payment . Came on hard time, once in the entire term. Asked to delay payment , they let me that was all and good . Payed in full on the day they needed it . Here is where it went south . Called them got all square on the paments . Asked them to resume auto pay , they set me up again. Got a letter in the mail next month from the state stating i have no insurance , and surrender my plates . Bull . Called nationwide and they dropped me . They sent no letters , no emails and no calls . Rude on the phone saying i never made a payment . Would never recomend nationwide to my worst enemy .

      IT'S ONLY APPROPRIATE THE CUSTOMER REVIEW RATING IS AS LOW AS IT IS. NATIONWIDE IS NOT ON YOUR SIDE. MY CLAIM ADJUSTER AND HER SUPERVISOR ARE THE WORST HUMANS POSSIBLE. ZERO COMPASSION FOR A PERSON WHO HAS LOST EVERYTHING. GO TO ANOTHER COMPANY IF YOU'RE CONSIDERING NATIONWIDE.
