We understand your frustration and regret that we have not been able to reach a resolution. However, your project is complete, and the additional work you are requesting is not part of your signed contract. Despite this, you have refused to pay your final bill, which has led us to pursue legal action to collect the remaining balance. We remain open to discussion but must adhere to the terms of our agreement. Thank you.

The job was never completed and accepted by the owner. I am rejecting this response because: The job was never completed and accepted by the owner. These discrepancies are from the 3rd rebuilt. Until Patio Enclosures provide what the contract called for and it pass city building inspectors the owner still does not accept their idea of complete. Owner has been waiting for the Small Claims paper work to arrive.

We have made multiple attempts to connect with Mr. ******* by phone and email to address this matter. As we have not received a response, we are proceeding with the small claims process. It’s important to note that the items he wants completed are not part of the contracted work. However, if there is an opportunity to resolve this directly, we remain open to further discussion. I hired GreenDay / Patio Enclosures for a Lanai tear down and built. I never received a contract from them. I applied for a Loan through ***** ***, and Once the loan was approved, Patio Enclosure withdrew $6828.88 from the account. This took place in April 2024. Thus far, only the permit and survey were issued. Appointments with contractors are not attended. No one answers to phone and calls are not returned either. They seem to be having staff problems, which is concerning. I have no idea if they are still in business. Also, they did not want to give me a completion date from the inception of the contract, which i never received. I need all the help I can get either getting a reimbursement, or project completion date.Business Response

On December 18, 2024, my husband and I accepted a sales call from **** ******. We were interested in installing an enclosure to keep our dog outside the home but still within a secure environment. **** drafted the order paperwork on his tablet and asked me for a code that had been sent to my email. I provided him with the code, and he began filling out the paperwork. I then made my initial deposit payment, and he informed me that the paperwork—which I later learned was a contract—would be emailed to me. I did not sign anything at that time. I arranged for someone to come to our home to take measurements on December 30, 2024. On the morning of January 2, 2025, my husband and I discussed our dog’s health after receiving feedback from our dog sitter about his lack of mobility and incontinence while we were away. We concluded that he likely would not live much longer and therefore decided we no longer needed the enclosure. We called **** at 10:43 a.m. on January 2, 2025, and he directed us to the company to speak with a representative. We explained our situation to *******, who said she would call us back. She returned our call at 2:13 p.m. and informed us that we could cancel the project but would lose our deposit of $4,561.94. After reviewing the emailed contract, we confirmed that this was stated in the terms. ******* said she would email the cancellation paperwork for us to sign. However, at 2:30 p.m., another representative called and stated they would be charging us a second payment of $4,561.94, claiming they had ordered materials that morning. This information had not been disclosed during our earlier call at 10:43 a.m. When we asked for more details, the representative responded that we would be charged and could take the matter to small claims court. We locked our credit card at 2:37 p.m., and at 2:42 p.m., the company attempted to charge the card again. No work has been performed, and no materials were actually obtained. We simply want to be left alone.Business Response

We signed a contract with Patio Enclosures which is part of Great Day Improvements on June 5th with "expected" completion in 14 to 16 weeks. The contract was to design and build a 3 seasons room on our home. We have had 4 representatives of Patio Enclosures come to our home, not including the sales person and have nothing to show for it after 26 weeks. The initial payment of approx $20,000 has been paid to Patio Enclosures as of July. Over the past month, I have been in contact with the Regional General Manager out of Pittsburgh and am seeing little progress and no updates in spite of repeatedly asking for regular communication.Business Response

We sincerely apologize for the delays and lack of communication you’ve encountered. While permitting and other project milestones can sometimes extend timelines, we understand how frustrating this situation has been for you. As of our recent conversation, your permit was approved on 12/16, and your order is now being processed. We’re currently on track to begin your project in late February or early March. We’re grateful for your patience and will continue to provide updates to ensure transparency moving forward. Thank you.

We want to address your concerns and provide clarification based on our recent visits. On 11/25, ******* and ***** were on-site to adjust your windows and ensure they were functioning properly. During the visit, ******* noticed the indoor humidity level was over 60%, which can contribute to moisture on the glass. He explained that maintaining a humidity level around 40% could help alleviate this issue. We removed six screens for remaking due to defects, including two that were wavy and had holes. We’ve replaced incorrect hardware with the proper components and confirmed that your windows are operating better after adjustments. We’re scheduled to return this week to deliver the remaining two screens. Rest assured, your windows are not leaking, and we remain committed to resolving any outstanding issues. Thank you for your patience.

In April 2024 we entered into a contract to have a custom sunroom constructed. Estimated time of completion was July. Throughout the process we had to reach out to the project manager and salesman repeatedly to keep things moving at all, and even then, there've been multiple unexplained delays. The room was essentially completed in early November with the installation of the ceiling. However, I had advised both the project manager and salesman that there are significant issues including two sliding windows that don't fit properly, resulting in large gaps to the outdoors, water diversion that hasn't been completed in one area, and a leaking gutter in another area. All were marked prior to ceiling installation as the project manager advised he'd have the ceiling installers look at the issues. On November 18 the project manager advised that repairs would be made later that week or at the beginning of the next. Nothing has been repaired and we've heard nothing. I reached out to the project manager on Nov 22 and he did not reply. Also on Nov 18, I received notification that the final payment of $16k had been taken, which I did not authorize. I've reached out to Great Day Improvements and did not receive a response. $120k is too much money to spend for a custom job only to have things not be right.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because I still haven't heard a word from the project manager or operations manager. Today (12/13) at 8a, two service people arrived to address the issues. It is a good thing we were home because we received no advance notice of their arrival. They were able to "trim" the windows. They're definitely better, though one is still just a bit off. He acknowledged this and said that he'd trimmed off as much as he could. The gutter has not yet been repaired but he correctly observed that it is covered in ice today. Had this issue been addressed when the project manager said it would be, the weather would've been warmer. He asked that we keep an eye on it and let them know if we see the leak again, but considering the lack of communication thus far, I have no hope that they'll actually respond. As I stated in my original complaint, spending $120k for a custom job and then having this be the results is extremely disappointing.

We understand your disappointment, especially after investing in a custom job and facing unresolved issues. The lack of advance notice for the service visit and the delay in addressing the gutter repair are unacceptable. We are committed to improving communication moving forward and ensuring all outstanding issues are fully resolved. We will follow up with the project and operations managers immediately to ensure the gutter is addressed as soon as weather permits, and that you receive the attention you deserve. Thank you for your continued patience as we work to make things right.

We have experienced horrible customer service, fumbling of dates and products odered and billed and a continued lack of completing our new window job of over $19,000.00 to which we are being billed. 1.) Our window order was on 8/19/24 and has been a delayed nightmare since then. I had ordered window screens that were not ordered on time and then now fumbling the dates to install them. 2.) They installed our windows in October and delivered a broken one which they said was ordered in October. I was informed on 12/6/26 that it had to be re-ordered and will be installed "sometime the end of January 2025. 3. We have a handle on and $8,000 door that keeps coming loose. 4.) We have a mismatch on the outside trim color they were going to look into to match the rest of the house or trim the old windows to match. (NO Follow-up there, but they all got PAID) My only option for me is the get aluminum colored paint to match the trim. 5.) Desired Settlement - Finish the WORK and Billing Adjustment of $12,000.00 off for this debackle of manufacturng and customer service. We truly feel stepped on with paying for a premium window product that we will not be telling anyone to purchase from whent hey ask, "Who did your windows???" We sincerely apologize for the frustration and inconvenience you've encountered throughout your project. While our goal was to provide a seamless experience, we recognize that delays and issues have fallen short of your expectations, and we regret the impact this has caused.
The screens were included in the original order but did not ship with the windows, leading to the delay. Replacement glass and sashes were reordered on 11/20, and we are currently awaiting a ship date from the manufacturing plant. We are also aware of the door handle issue and trim mismatch and will address these concerns along with the installation of the glass, sashes, and screens once they arrive.

I am rejecting this response because:
I ordered the screen windows for the upstairs and kitchen on AUGUST 23, 2024 (Check Angie Pertros Email)..AUGUST! I also sent her an email on OCTOBER 28 and OCTOBER 30, 2024 that my windows was cracked at installation and what the time frame would be to get a replacement and now your telling me that it was order a month after I told you your team broke it??? Great Day Home Improvements owes up a discount on this project of at least the cost of the screens and the costs of a full sized window. And what is GDHI going to "address: for the patio door handle and the window trim? You're not telling us and the BBB anything to our satisfaction.
Customer Answer

[[BBB transcription via email, see attachment]]
I have responded to the case, but could not go back and add any additional information I had forgotten to add. The issue we have with our screens also includes Great Home Improvements failure and lack of customer satisfaction when I was originally texted by them that I would have my screens installed on December 11, 2024. The installer called me on December 2nd saying he was on his way. I told him no one would be home since I was told December 11, 2024 was the date. Nobody showed up on Dec 11, 2024 to install the screens. This complaint comes down to a matter of "Public Trust of the Vendor" in getting paid by their funding process and then not performing, quality controlling the installation and follow-up of their product. I have had a broken window with cold air coming into my house since October. How is this ok? I have attached a picture of the window to add to my complaint.

Thank you for your patience, and we apologize for the ongoing inconvenience. Your window is tentatively scheduled to ship in January, and we are prioritizing the installation of your screens as well. We appreciate your understanding as we work to resolve this matter.

I am rejecting this response because:
We are rejecting this response based on the lack of premium customer service/follow-up and waiting a MONTH before you even ordered our replacement window, with not even a phone call of apology and path to rectify. We also want the costs of the screens and a window taken off our purchase price since we are paying for goods and services we are not being able to use. Also, not addressed in the email is what is the fix for the patio door handle that keeps moving and coming loose when you open the door? GDHI has proven itself truly to be a monumental disappointment and bad choice for our project.

To address these issues, we will be scheduling a service call to resolve the patio door handle problem and ensure everything is in proper working order. We’re deeply sorry to hear about your experience and the frustration you’ve encountered. This is far from the standard of service we strive to provide. We want to assure you that we are actively working to resolve these issues. The incorrect walls from the factory caused the delays you mentioned, but the room has been dried in, albeit not with the correct parts.
