I had Erie Basement Solutions install a moisture barrier and a sump pump with French drain. It was very poorly install the tape was hanging off the walls and you could tell that areas of the foundation were busted out with being properly patched over.. they were suppost to drill weep holes to divert water out of the walls to the corrugated pipe that leads to a sump pump but I never seen holes drill just the bust foundation bricks, they drill random holes in the moisture barrier and just left the holes there, they have had to come out multiple times and work on it instead of putting the time in and fixing it . NOW THE MOISTURE BARRIER IS LEAKING and who ever I talked to I think his name was **** just told me he's busy driving and he was short and rude, more or less just said there's not much more he knows what to do he can try to consult with someone to get it fix although they guaranteed me it would be 100% water proof... took my 30k left me with a system that doesn't work properly...

I signed a contract with Erie Homes on 5/13/2025. My decision for choosing Erie Home was heavily influence by the sales team analysis that venting in my attic was inadequate and could be completed by their expert team. I was concerned about the "oozing" sap they showed me in attic beams indicating excess heat in the attic. After the roof was installed on the 5/16/2025, ridge vents were installed without intake vents. At first Erie Representative ****** ******** insisted he had installed can vents on my property and sent a picture of them. They were however, the existing vents. The Erie's sale crew judged the roof improperly vented. There were and still are no intake vents. According to a contractor who was in my home to correct the intense winter drafts, my roof was not properly vented. For roof vents to work properly he said both intake and exhaust vent are required to protect the roof and allow outside air to enter through the bottom of the attic instead of taking heated or cooled air from the home itself. Multiple contacts with Mr. ******** have left me without a solution. He continues to say I caused the problem by asking Erie to fulfil the proper venting portion of the contract. He said he should ask me to pay extra for his solution to return my roof to the original type of exhaust venting. Mr. ******** told me he could not install soffit vents on custom metal soffits. He also said he could not install ***** vents. Without intake and exhaust vents the new roof, rafters and my energy costs are at risk. I had two other roofing bid that were substantially lower but I signed the contract with Erie Home for the proper venting in the contract language. It should also be noted I misread Mr. ******** email of March 30. I read that he would install soffit vents. I am still in disbelief that Mr. ****** thinks that exhaust only vents is a properly vented roof. I hope to upload email and contract language later but am stressed out at this time. This is a nightmare.

I hired erie construction. Based on1)they said they had an AAA++ BBB RATING.Which they said reflected their ability to resolve customer issues. ******** began soon after installation in addition to scary nasty loud and inappropriate man stalking me water was pouring into my house. The flashing blew off seriously damaging the chimney, one man tried to extort money from me. They said they have fixed the leak but now there new leaks. It is going on 3 years since I first notified them. They said they would pay for the interior repairs- thar was over a year ago. They have not returned calls or emails. This company is destroying my house there may be serious black mold issues now! And while I have your attention they use an extremely dishonest advertising campaign and totally charge excessive $$ for possibly the worst roof too much money can buy. They need to fix this and all. Additional damage their lack of workmanship and lack of response to issues. I have a warranty -- but they tell me that will not fix some of issues that they are 100% responsible for causing. About them lying about their BBB rating -- what do you say about that? I never ever would have hired them if they had not lied about their BBB RATING!

We were told that the shingles they were offering were top of the line new type shingle that comes with a lifetime warranty. If there was any problems with our roof they would come immediately out to fix. Come to find out $21,000$ for a small ranch roof. The shingles are normal singles. We have been trying for over a month to come fix our leaking roof and they keep giving us the run around. We got a loan through *************. Looking to file a lawsuit!

The work I requested was removing all the plywood from my master suite due to a huge mold infestation. This was not completed properly and the crew did not alert me to the fact that more work/materials & thus more cost may be necessary to achieve my goal during the project. I wish someone on the crew had communicated better with me. I was there all day and even had a whole coffee station set up for them so there was plenty of opportunity to let me know that more plywood would be needed to complete the job properly. Nobody with any experience came out to inspect the site and now that my ceiling is torn down they still don't seem very eager to fix the problem. I spent $50K CASH on a $25K job at best. The photo uploaded is AFTER the roofing and plywood replacement job. As one can see, the new board is adjacent to old still moldy board.

Before I agreed to purchase the salesman told me multiple times how much money I would save by my insurance company and the electric company to offset the 850 dollar plus 13% interest loan I took out for the next 20 years I contacted my insurance company after roof was installed and found out they had no discounts on the roof told me Erie roofing should have contacted them before making such a claim the electricity bill never budged either I feel that Erie misrepresented themselves and took advantage of my gulability also I didn't like how some of the edging turned out Erie was reluctant to address my concerns also told me they would take anything that was on the roof away satellite dishes and old router box if I wouldn't had been home when the trailer was picked up they'd still be here had to negotiate with the driver he had to call and ask permission first

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.  I have connected with our operations team regarding the concerns of the "edging".  Our installation team is ready and willing to visit the home and inspect.  If there is any adjustments or repairs that need to be made, Erie will complete that task as it's under the warranty.  As for the insurance our local sales office contacted ***** **** was told they turned in the submission to the home office and now just have to wait for someone to review it.  Erie did try to push for more of a timeline and they stated it’s out of their hands until they hear back from the home office.  Erie then asked how long it could take and she stated up to 30 days. Again, Erie Home is ready to address any workmanship issues however for the ***** **** portion, they are unable to supply Erie Home with any additional information.   Please let me know if the customer would like an inspection of the workmanship of the installation of the roof.

To clarify,Erie Home operates as a retail home improvement company and, as such, we do not work directly with insurance companies or provide itemized breakdowns. Our estimates reflect the total scope of work agreed upon in the contract, and we are unable to modify that format to meet insurance-specific requirements.
We understand this may create a challenge with your insurance provider, and we recommend working with your adjuster to find a resolution. If there is any additional documentation we can provide to support your claim, we would be happy to assist in any way we can. The attached document will explain what we wanted done to fix a problem with our roof. We've been dealing with Erie Homes and a number of their representatives to get this job done. This all started in March of 2024. There were a number of representatives involved in phone calls and stop ins and as you can see by the attached document, we paid down $1,500.00 on 5/21/24 to have the job completed by 9/3/24. As of today, the job has not been completed and the last representative I talked to by the name of ***** at ************ promised he would be out to complete the job before the first snow fall this winter 2024. He never showed. We want this resolved and don't know where else to go other than reporting to you hoping you can help us get this job finished or get our money back so we can find someone else to complete the job. If this isn't taken care of soon, there will be inside damage done to our home because of the snow and rain leaking inside the roof. Please help us get this issue resolved. The Specification Sheet in the attached document indicates the work that should have been completed. Thank you for anything you can do to resolve this situation.

      Good afternoon,

The damage to the roof was caused by a tree falling onto the roof that is not covered under the Erie Home warranty.  Erie Home has given the customer a quote for the repairs of $1,940.00 and as of last Thursday she placed a deposit towards that amount for the repairs.  The installation manager *** will contact with the customer to give them the details on the installation date as this will also depend on weather however the goal is to have it completed within 2 weeks

I hired Erie Home for a roofing project after promises of superior materials, an extensive warranty, and a smooth process. My experience has been far from what was promised during the sales pitch. There was a significant misrepresentation of the products and warranty terms. The salesmen claimed the shingles had a 50-year warranty and the metal roof a 100-year warranty. However, after installation, I found the shingles only have a 30-year warranty. I also learned that the warranty has hidden fees, including a $125 trip charge after the first year, subject to inflation, and labor costs after the "Premium Protection Period" ends in 10 years. This has made me feel that Erie Home intentionally performed subpar work, knowing I would incur additional costs for repairs under the warranty. I was told Erie Home does not use subcontractors, but when the crew arrived, I found they were subcontractors. The quality of work was lacking. The underlayment and ice and water shield were improperly laid, which could lead to leaks (The first rain we had, we already had a leak). The crew also damaged my property using my bricks to free their stuck vehicle, leaving a rut and broken bricks. They also removed and discarded my gutter guards, both of which were only addressed because I noticed and brought it to their attention. Erie has failed to provide an itemized cost breakdown despite multiple requests, preventing me from obtaining the remaining insurance payout for the project. I am seeking a written explanation addressing the discrepancies in the warranty, a full and itemized cost breakdown, an inspection and correction of improperly installed materials, and a discount on the total cost due to the misrepresentation and poor workmanship. I’ve made several attempts to resolve these issues but have been met with delays, lack of accountability, and no action. I would not have used Erie if I had know about these things. I would have saved a lot of $ and went local. I feel scammed.

Like I previously stated we were told we were receiving a 50 year warranty but only received a 30 year warranty with fees. We only received part of the cost from our insurance company and are paying an extra 12,000 out of pocket, which we were fine with when we thought we were getting the 50 year warranty. Had we been given accurate information, we could have chosen another company and avoided the extra cost. The proposed settlement does not compensate for the financial loss and emotional stress caused by their misleading claims. I request a fair resolution that reflects the full impact of their misrepresentation.

      Sincerely,
