An Erie salesperson came to my house, went into the attic, showed me some pictures saying the beams are all rotten and the roof is going to cave in any moment. They told me if I did not get it taken care of immediately it is going to cost me more because water will be coming inside the house and I believed them. I got scared because I was leaving the country and I didn’t want to take any chances. The price they gave me was $36,012, which I thought was very high but when they said they had to do a lot of work I said okay. They came and fixed the roof but didn’t finish the job. When I called them no one answered my call. I got in touch with my insurance company. They went into the attic and took pictures of the same places that the Erie sale person told me was rotted and where they said the roof would collapse. The insurance agent said that what the Eire sales person told me was not true. I have been calling them to send me and insurance company the original pictures they took but no one is responding to my request. I believe this company should be investigated because they deceived me. This job was done in October and I am still not able to get in touch the company. It’s like they no longer exists.Business Response

08/20/2024 2 salesmen came and inspected and give us a verble quote was more than we could afford. They went to a fiberglass asphalt shingle and spent 4 hours trying to convience us that we "needed " .it. After taking e sig. From both of us to be used if we agreed with the quote price and terms of conditions we could docusign to have a contract. We never got a quote or docusign for any document. We got a siigned contract from erie sept 26 2024. 16 days after roof was installed and demand of full payment. Not one of erie employees had a copy of cotract in hand. Docusign investigated and informed me that envelope ID # was invalid and if i didnt sign the contract my self to ask the company how they sent me a contract with my sig. On it . The contract said i was left and agreed to all terms and was verbaly told about the 72 hour cancellation on the date it was first written 08/20/2024. Emailed to me from customer support sept 26 2024. On sept 24 email sent said my quote was ready to docusign. On EPA lead paint document is marked that the home was built after 1978 when in fact it stated house was built in 1925 at the top of page. According to the MISSOURI HOME IMPROVEMENT FRAUD ACT. IT IS ILLEGAL CONTRACTOR TO MISREPRESENT FACTS. USE DECEPTION.OR CHARGE UNREASONABLE AMOUNTS. MISSOURI LAWS STATES CONTRACTOR AND HOME OWNERS SHALL HAVE A COPY OF CONTRACT IN HAND BEFORE STARTING WORK. I DID NOT DOCUSIGN OR see the contract that has my signature on it. The 2000 down was ernist money to hold lower quote until i abtained 2 more quotes and refuable if i didnt take erie bid. Your salesmen faild to use my home owners insurance in there quote. Your employ that collected sign off papers didnt have contract either but demanded full payment and left 3 installers copy and 1 customer copy.. Your bid never got past verble quote. Erie deposited 2000 check 08/22/2024. Like there was a contract signed.Business Response

Erie Home sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience this situation may have caused. Erie Home notes that the price, product, installation date, and all other facets of the sale for labor and materials were contained in a written, signed agreement. The homeowner further initialed directly next to the contract price. This agreement contains a three-day notice of cancellation provision that would allow the customer an opportunity to timely cancel for any reason if, for example, the customer obtained a quote he found more competitive. Erie Home stands by its products and services, and respectfully doubts the customer could obtain the same materials in the same quality and grade, and with the same warranty for the price being alleged. Final payment in the form of a check was received and deposited by Erie Home on September 17, 2024.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:
I received that document that has my signature on it the initials are not mine ther was no finance . I signed a e signature on sales man plastic pad supposed to docusign if I agree . Docusign told me to ask erie how my signature got on the paper because the envelope id # is invalid. I didn't get a three day notice of cancelation or a copy until 09/23 /2024 .I ask everybody that I could installers . Delivery driver and the only erie employ that collected final payment. Nobody answers emails and the number I found on the document went to jewry company. Every part of the written agreement was sent here by erie and the initialed part on front page isn't mine and the signed part would have been put there by docusign if I signed it. It went straight to spam and when I found it didn't let me do anything have erie conta t docusign. There sales man didn't show or have me sign any written part and I didn't initial the lead paint box either. Have erie explain why there name isn't on the lines below the signatures we supposably put there. I paid because they demanded. The front page is I agreed with everything and was verbally told about cancelation 3 day. I would think a company that size would not be aware there wasn't a contract sent to them or me but they didn't let that stop them. If docusign didn't put our signature on it and the number on top ages is invalid who pasted the signatures on the document and made it a contract. According to missouri law there has to be a contract in customers Han and installers hand before any work is started. I paid 3 x what the other bids was. And why didn't they check with my home owners insurance. That was suppose to be a quote and if I agreed with there term and conditions I could docusign it . There sales tactic are not to listen. I ask for aquote for metal roof that's why they where here and told them I needed 3 quotes. Not a 4 hour sales pitch. And told them in the driveway that my wife had nothing to do with it. I'm 69 years old and I think there is some investigation erie should have done before talking to me. Not satisfied with 500 offered . High presure sales tactics. Over priced job . And no real contract. Initials are forgery. Lead paint sheet is not signed by company. My house was built 1925 and I never stated that I thought it was built after 1978. The return of a reasonable amount of what I paid is what I want not a short line telling me I had the contract 08 20 2024.

Erie installed a roof on 8/24/2024. The price was just over $49,000. We were promised an installation system that was specific to **** using unique, patented underlayment that is both waterproof and self sealing, 6 feet of ice and water barrier, new flashing, and cap nails instead of staples. We only received 3 feet of ice and water barrier. Three quarters of the roof does not have cap nails, instead they used staples (which the warranty states that they never use). All of the old flashing is still on the roof. At one point they ran out of underlayment and used a sheet of Certainteed. After the shingles set, you can see a sag where the decking should of been replaced but wasn't. You can see where the siding was pulled away from the wall on two sides due to pulling old shingles out from the old flashing. There is also a shingle that won't lay flat. The crew was addressed about these issues during installation but there was a language barrier. At that time an attempt to contact the sales representative was made. Being a Saturday, there was no answer. We then contacted an installation manager. When I explained what the roofers were doing, the said, 'they better not be'.On Monday, August 26, 2024 I called the local office looking for answers. I received a return call from the installation manager. He reassured me that the roof would be covered under warranty. At that time he took all the remaining supplies (which should've been used on our house, they were all specifically ordered for this job according to the sales representative). On September 11, 2024 I contacted the main office for Erie and talked to customer service. I explained the situation and emailed photos showing the issues. She assured me that the things that the sales representative promised regarding the installation were correct. Materials were remaining because the roof wasn't done properly. We didn't get the unique installation that we were promised and paid for.Business Response

We hired Erie Home to replace our roof and gutters. The roof has a lifetime warranty to cover any damages associated to the roof, interieor, and exterior. The warranty covers every possible cost.
Initial work was from 1/27/2020 - 2/4/2020.
Within 3 months it was leaking again. It leaked dozens of times, with the last leak on 6/23/23.
Erie Home sent contractors out for repairs 7 times between March 2020 and January 2024.
In February 2023 a regional manager, ******* *******, was supposed to come discuss repairs to the interior, and a partial refund. He postponed via text and then did not show up. On June 7th 2023 I was finally put in contact with *********** ****, the Regional Installation Manager for the Northeast. After explaining the situation he spent about 15 minutes accusing me of being a fraud that just wants to fill her own coffers by blackmailing them. He told me that the only reason we purchased from them was because of the amazing warranty and that we should be accepting of the mistakes made because "***** ****** was the only person to ever not make mistakes on earth."
On June 12th I was put in contact with ******* ******, another manager I believe. We made an appointment and on June 14th, he and ******* ******* came to my house to look at damages. They assured me that repairs would be made and that I would get an email that day with instructions on how to proceed. I recieved no instructions, but did get the attic checked out for mold and had two contractors give quotes for the repairs as we were told to do during our in person conversation. Since then I have had minimal contact with *** and ****, the repairs have not been completed, and I have never recieved anything that would indicate they ever will be done.
These are not all of the dates the roof leaked after replacement, but some of the dates I am positive of: 5/29/20, 10/13/20, 11/30/20, 12/30/20, 2/19/21, 2/23/21, 7/11/21, 6/26/23. We believe it leaked at least 12 times, in multiple places.Business Response

We had our roof done 11/6 and never got a walkthrough with project manager and now less than a month in our gutters are leaking due to being installed incorrectly. I have reached out to *****, our manager, only to be ignored. We now got the bill and will be contacting the credit company to tell them that the job isnt completed. Plus we were lied to about having 30 days interest free with the loan people. This has been a big headache and a lot of not communicating and taking away our rights as homeowners. You guys have lost a lot of service with us for spreading word of mouth and the fact that we are going to be building a new house in a couple of yearsBusiness Response

In April of 2024 my husband and I purchased a roof from ****. Shortly after we were getting water damage on our bedroom ceiling. I made contact with the company and they sent someone out and they said it was fine and put some extra caulk in places "just in case". We were still getting bigger and more water spots on our ceiling. I paid an ************, *******************, and a *********************** to ***** where the problem could be coming from. I was told it all lead back to the roof. I went into the local office with a list of the the times I have talk to them and a copy of the papers I had on the inspection saying there was an issue with the roof. I then meet with the ******* Manager that happened to be in town from *********. After a lot of back and forth and them checking it again saying it was fine, they said they would work on the problem area to make sure. I never received any documentation like I was told I would and when we went to fix the interior of our home we still have wet wood and what appears to be mold in some spots. On top of that we were told we did not need any new decking but we can now see there is actually holes and gapes with nails sticking out from just the shingles and sheeting they put down. There is quite a few shingles that are still not sealed as well. I feel scammed and I paid 26k for my house to be damaged. This is unacceptable.Business Response

I hired Erie Home to water-proof my basement. They guaranteed a dry , not damp basement. Soon after they completed the job the basement began leaking along the walls when it wasn't even raining. I called them many times before they came out in July to investigate..They took pictures and said they bet back to me about a solution. They never got back to me about the remedy. Finally after many phone calls and a registered letter to the owner, they came out on September 24 and tried to fix the problems. On October 1 there was water in several places on the floor. I called the repairman and he said they would they would get back to me. I have called them many times and sent pictures of the water to the owner but have not been contacted ever. They will not call me back!!! The walls are wet and the material they covered them with is falling off the walls. The water is still coming in from the floor and walls. There is a life time warranty to have a dry basement in the contract that I singed. My sister lives lives in the house and has health issues from the moisture. Please help me get this corrected or give me a refund.Business Response

On Aug. 31, 2024, my wife and I contracted Erie Home to install a new roof on our home. The cost of the roof was $46,328.00, which we have paid in full. They came and installed the roof the next week. The week following installation, we had a gutter installer come in to re-level the gutters. When the gutter was removed from the edge of the roof, the contractor observed that the new shingles had been installed on rotted plywood. Now the shingles are starting to cup. I have reached out to the sales rep, who indicated that they would submit a ticket to their corporate office. I have also called the corporate office directly and was only able to leave a message. I still haven't heard back. The roof is intended to last 30 years per the warranty. Due to warranty constraints, I can't have anyone else work on the roof. I need the roof repaired.Business Response
