Installation of my new patio cover started on May 8, 2023. As of August 7 the project still has not been completed.
I have contacted the office numerous times via email asking for an update. The communication is poor. The company should be calling me, instead of me requesting updates.
Anyway now we are 3 months since start of installation and I'm still waiting for satisfactory completion.
Oh and the project cost me lots of money.Business Response

I did get a message on Sept. 1 from Great Day Improvements stating they would be ordering a new header for me.
I do not want to close this complaint until the new header is successfully installed. The project must be completed to my satisfaction before I will accept the reply from Great Day Improvements. I have paid in full for this project.

We signed papers for a porch with Great Day back in August, 2021. The project was never started before the winter, and finally in June 2022 the work began. I’ll be honest, there was one problem after another, but after some harassing on my end, eventually, the problems would be resolved. Some of them took months to resolve or worse receive some sort of response but eventually they were completed. Great Day has had all of our money for over a year. During the winter, we noticed several cosmetic flaws and an actual design flaw in the structure. We called in May, 2023, and eventually someone came out and fixed the cosmetic problems to our satisfaction. That took place in June at which time the design/structural flaw was confirmed, and we were told we would be hearing from them shortly. I continuously have been asking for just some sort of confirmation that this flaw will be remedied, and when it will happen, and I have had complete silence since that initial confirmation in June. It is now two years later since the contract was signed, we’ve had the porch paid for in full for most of that time, and we still do not have a completed project. I am completely understanding that having a big enough and reliable work force to keep up with these projects, these days is difficult. But what I don’t understand is that I as a customer am not even receiving a response. Communication is terrible though I commend our sales rep for at least answering me when I’m upset but beyond him no one follows up. That is extremely poor business practice, and it frankly makes me very worried and concerned that the structural issue will never be resolved. Very frustrating! This is a structural issue that must be fixed. I can’t just let this go as it structurally could break down. That shouldn’t happen with a brand new product that is touted as such a superior one.

We have received your requests to cancel your contract. We

The transaction was completed to start the process to place a . For, at least, 3 months the contractor (Great Day Improvements, has been delaying, frequently, finishing the project. Ive PAID IN FULL for the service and not only has the project been finished, but the material theyve used to began the project is infested with some sort of larvae, bugs. Ive been severely inconvenienced by the continued broken promises of finishing the project by several previous dates. They have also on several occasions failed to ACCURATELY measure the dwelling for many of the proper pieces needed to complete the room. Every time I call the corporate office, my call is never returned with a solution. At this point, the best thing is that the company, Great Day Improvements, should return the large sum of money Ive already paid, come get the pest-infested materials theyve placed on my property, and I will take care of rest. Ive attached pictures and copies of the unfinished room as well as the pictures of the nests(eggs), which continues to reform/grow back when I spray them. Please assist/advise.

When we sat down to discuss having the sunroom installed with service rep, we were never told how flimsy and weak the screens are. I had to call and have this company come back and reinstall five screens from it getting damaged during the install. I tried calling the contractor just as they were leaving but they never answered. We have spent thousands of dollars on a project that wasn’t worth it. When the contractor told us the screens can get damaged from strong winds that really raised a red flag. We need some compensation for being lied to by the service rep. We aren’t satisfied at all.Business Response

We are very sorry you feel this way as we want all of our
customers to be satisfied. We are rather surprised by this complaint as you
signed a certificate of satisfaction after the repairs were made and our
records indicate your project is complete and installed in accordance with our installation
procedures. We reached out to you on 7/28/23 and are sending you a sample of
pet screen, which is a bit more durable type of mesh and you can upgrade to
that if you so choose. Thank you for reaching out.
The Great Day Improvements TeamCustomer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:
That document was signed after the installation, before we saw how easy it is to damage the screens. I don’t recall seeing a sample of the screen that was installed, we would have declined it if so. The screen was damaged during installation, we were also not told by the service rep how easy it is to damage the screens. I feel this was simply false advertisement. The document I signed was a service call work order stating what needed correcting. This is why they also don’t warrant the screens due to it being flimsy. The screen should be upgraded to pet screen instead of me having pay for it.Business Response

We use the same screens on our All View Screen rooms, which
is what you have, as we do on our glass enclosures. These screens are on our door
samples that we bring to every consultation. A representative from your branch will
be reaching out to you to discuss upgrading to the pet screen. Thank you.

I notified the company of install errors and my dissatisfaction with the work the next day. I expected the company to send someone out to inspect the job before allowing additional work since I requested a new installer and sent them 13 pictures of errors from the first day of work on Monday. I complained Tuesday and same installer sent on Wednesday to finish the job. I expected the company to send an inspector out to look at the problems. Monday I told the installer the corner post was supposed to be replaced and he said it was not in the work order. When I saw the gaps in the sections the installer told me he would fix it with caulk! After I inspected the work I emailed the salesperson 13 pictures of the errors at 11:39 on Tuesday and requested a new installer. No one responded and on Wednesday afternoon someone named ***** left me a voicemail to let me know that the same installer would arrive shortly to finish the job. The materials have too many dents, scuffs and scratches to be new. The craftsmanship lacks quality and did not match the specific instructions in the work order. The measurements are not accurate, sliding windows are not plumb, door frame is bent ,the handle is difficult to lock and both corners have 2 pieces of trim because the measurements are off. My expectation for a custom built room is for the precise measurements to be used so that the 3 seasons frame connect to my home like my screened porch did. A custom built room should not have excessive caulking and trim covering up measurement mistakes. The materials appear to be defective or used instead of new. The glass has scratches, black tar specs and scratches. There are dents, a chip and black scuff marks on the frame.I was as detailed as possible in the work order and the only thing that can fix this is a new build per the instructions in the work order with new materials! I refuse to accept these scuffed, dented and flimsy pieces of metal that are dirty and installed incorrectly.Business Response

I do no accept the business response. ***** came out and what we agreed the only way to fix this is a tear down and new build with the required *************** permit. 1. Failure to remove the corner post messed up all the measurements. 2. Permit is required and no work should begin until the permit is obtained. 3. New measurements are needed before materials are ordered 4. The tear down will not happen until the new materials are delivered and ready for install the same day as the year downCustomer Answer
Date: 08/07/2023
The corner post shown in the attached pictures is the cause of all the measurements not fitting properly. This post was supposed to be replaced per the change order. The room was built not using the change order specifications. The frame is not attached to my home because the measurements are off and the contractor used trim pieces on every side to cover up the errors. Before construction began, *********************** told me if a permit was required, Great Day Improvements would handle that and they did not. This is unacceptable I need the room torn down and built according to code with precise measurements that replace the corner post and have the frame attached to walls of my home. When the work is done I expect the glass to be cleaned and all tar removed and no holes and sagging in the screens, no chips in the frame and new materials without black scuffs to be used.Business Response
Date: 08/11/2023
The information we received from your HOA stated a permit was not needed. We will look into this further and if a permit is needed we will obtain it. New units have been reordered and we will not tear anything out until we are onsite with the new units and materials. We would not leave a customers area open to the elements. Once the new materials arrive we will inspect them and then contact you to set up a date to install. Thank you.

Great Day Improvements bought out Stanek Windows year ago. I have 8 Stanek windows bought and installed by Stanek. They are supposed to be guaranteed for life. Four of my 8 windows have problems - parts fall off, hard to open and close. I contacted Great Day about a month ago and they gave me a local number to call. I have left several messages with that number and have not had any response. I can't even get my windows washed with all the problems they have.Business Response

On 12/17/2022 Patio Enclosures came to our home to give an estimate on converting a terrace to a close in sunroom. Based on the price they quoted we signed a contract, we were told we had 3 days to cancel. They stated the money would be pulled in 4 segments, 1st would be after the tech come out to get the measurements to do the blue prints down payment, 2nd when they file for the permit and get ready to order supplies, 3rd after project is started, 4th after project complete. The 1st pull $11,208.15 was made on 12/19/2022. After that we received an email stating the measurements would be taken 01/11/2023, this is when we found out the Co. name was Great Day Improvements not Patio Enclosures as advertised on TV. 01/11/2023 came no response from the co. 1st bill arrived later and 1st payment at $414.60 due 02/06/2023. After calling the company several times and finally requesting to speak to a manager and telling him I did not like the way they were doing business because they only thing that was done was they withdraw from my loan before my 3 days were up and no contact or tentative dates of completion could be provided. I told who I thought was the manager wanted to cancel this contract and they need to return the money back to Greensky finance. The manager gave me his word he would be over the project and get someone sent out to measure and go over the plans with me. Someone finally arrived that Saturday took measurements and maybe a week later sent copy of the drawings. Then they stated needed to send for permits I am making my monthly payments. Around April 2023 I called to see what the hold up was, they stated permit was not returned. I finally contacted the permit office they stated they sent them a denial February a week after it was submitted. Great Day continued to lie and say they were waiting on permit office. I contacted the loan company and filed a complaint. I spoke to Great Day Gen. Mgr. requested cancel and refund. They charge 3000.00 and gag order. I would not signBusiness Response

Thank you for reaching out. Our company is Great Day
Improvements and Patio Enclosures is the brand name of our sunrooms. Our
advertising on TV and printed ads show “Patio Enclosures, by Great Day
Improvements.” The only reason our permit was denied was because you have another
open permit with your township. There is not any reason we couldn’t continue to
move forward with your project after that issue was resolved. You informed our
Regional GM ******* that you wanted to cancel anyways and he offered to
discount your project by almost $4,000 so we could move forward. You declined. Per
your signed contract ( see attachment) you have 3 days to cancel to get a full refund of your
deposit. ******* agreed to refund you and retain $3,000 of the deposit for our
expenses. At that time, you agreed and he sent you a release of contract to sign,
which you then refused. We have tried reaching out to you numerous times to
resolve this matter but our calls have gone unanswered. We would love nothing
more to resolve this and either move forward with your room or sign the release
and we will issue you a refund minus the $3,000 for our expenses. Thank you.

31 May 23. - took deposit of $7500 for patio project.

A representative (*****) came out and did an initial visual assessment and design layout for the patio enclosure. During the walk around, ***** and I discussed where the patio door would be installed and what side it would be installed on. I asked for the door to be installed on left side and to open from the left side. I said this because we have a gas line protruding from the wall right next to the enclosure. I had a my patio enclosed with the project starting on 22 May 23. The installation technician stated that ***** did not include my request for the patio door to be installed on the left side in his drawings of the floorplan. My wife and I contacted ***** and was told that we didn't make that request. We also asked if this was going to be corrected and we were told that the contract would have to be amended and the cost would be an additional $500 to correct. I refuse to pay for something that's not my fault and that was initially stated at the beginning of the process. What's the point of doing an initial walk around with the customer if you're not going to listen to them. Furthermore, when trying to contact someone at this company, we always get the voicemail. I have left several messages to no avail. So, basically we didn't get the service we requested from this company as promised. As of late the technician hasn't answered my calls for an update. We have recently been in contact with the someone at the company and told numerous times that the technician will be out to rectify the problem, but it has yet to be resolved. As of 071223, the patio door itself was corrected, but the technician for some reason just rotated the patio screen door and then installed it. It's not seated correctly in the door jam. Now the handle/ hardware to open the door is higher than the actual patio door handle and causing the screen door to be unbalanced when trying to open it and close it. Horrible experience for the money.Business Response
