In April 2024 we entered into a contract to have a custom sunroom constructed. Estimated time of completion was July. Throughout the process we had to reach out to the project manager and salesman repeatedly to keep things moving at all, and even then, there've been multiple unexplained delays. The room was essentially completed in early November with the installation of the ceiling. However, I had advised both the project manager and salesman that there are significant issues including two sliding windows that don't fit properly, resulting in large gaps to the outdoors, water diversion that hasn't been completed in one area, and a leaking gutter in another area. All were marked prior to ceiling installation as the project manager advised he'd have the ceiling installers look at the issues.

On November 18 the project manager advised that repairs would be made later that week or at the beginning of the next. Nothing has been repaired and we've heard nothing. I reached out to the project manager on Nov 22 and he did not reply. Also on Nov 18, I received notification that the final payment of $16k had been taken, which I did not authorize.

I've reached out to Great Day Improvements and did not receive a response. $120k is too much money to spend for a custom job only to have things not be right.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 12/13/2024

I am rejecting this response because I still haven't heard a word from the project manager or operations manager.  Today (12/13) at 8a, two service people arrived to address the issues.  It is a good thing we were home because we received no advance notice of their arrival.  They were able to "trim" the windows.  They're definitely better, though one is still just a bit off.  He acknowledged this and said that he'd trimmed off as much as he could.  The gutter has not yet been repaired but he correctly observed that it is covered in ice today.  Had this issue been addressed when the project manager said it would be, the weather would've been warmer.  He asked that we keep an eye on it and let them know if we see the leak again, but considering the lack of communication thus far, I have no hope that they'll actually respond.  As I stated in my original complaint, spending $120k for a custom job and then having this be the results is extremely disappointing.

      Business Response

      Date: 12/20/2024

We understand your disappointment, especially after investing in a custom job and facing unresolved issues. The lack of advance notice for the service visit and the delay in addressing the gutter repair are unacceptable. We are committed to improving communication moving forward and ensuring all outstanding issues are fully resolved. We will follow up with the project and operations managers immediately to ensure the gutter is addressed as soon as weather permits, and that you receive the attention you deserve. Thank you for your continued patience as we work to make things right.

We have experienced horrible customer service, fumbling of dates and products odered and billed and a continued lack of completing our new window job of over $19,000.00 to which we are being billed.

1.) Our window order was on 8/19/24 and has been a delayed nightmare since then. I had ordered window screens that were not ordered on time and then now fumbling the dates to install them.

2.) They installed our windows in October and delivered a broken one which they said was ordered in October. I was informed on 12/6/26 that it had to be re-ordered and will be installed "sometime the end of January 2025.

      3. We have a handle on and $8,000 door that keeps coming loose.

4.) We have a mismatch on the outside trim color they were going to look into to match the rest of the house or trim the old windows to match. (NO Follow-up there, but they all got PAID) My only option for me is the get aluminum colored paint to match the trim.

5.) Desired Settlement - Finish the WORK and Billing Adjustment of $12,000.00 off for this debackle of manufacturng and customer service. We truly feel stepped on with paying for a premium window product that we will not be telling anyone to purchase from whent hey ask, "Who did your windows???"

We sincerely apologize for the frustration and inconvenience you've encountered throughout your project. While our goal was to provide a seamless experience, we recognize that delays and issues have fallen short of your expectations, and we regret the impact this has caused.
The screens were included in the original order but did not ship with the windows, leading to the delay. Replacement glass and sashes were reordered on 11/20, and we are currently awaiting a ship date from the manufacturing plant. We are also aware of the door handle issue and trim mismatch and will address these concerns along with the installation of the glass, sashes, and screens once they arrive.
Thank you for your patience as we work to resolve these matters. We remain committed to completing your project to your satisfaction.

I am rejecting this response because:

I ordered the screen windows for the upstairs and kitchen on AUGUST 23, 2024 (Check Angie Pertros Email)..AUGUST! I also sent her an email on OCTOBER 28 and OCTOBER 30, 2024 that my windows was cracked at installation and what the time frame would be to get a replacement and now your telling me that it was order a month after I told you your team broke it??? Great Day Home Improvements owes up a discount on this project of at least the cost of the screens and the costs of a full sized window. And what is GDHI going to "address: for the patio door handle and the window trim? You're not telling us and the BBB anything to our satisfaction.

I have responded to the case, but could not go back and add any additional information I had forgotten to add. The issue we have with our screens also includes Great Home Improvements failure and lack of customer satisfaction when I was originally texted by them that I would have my screens installed on December 11, 2024. The installer called me on December 2nd saying he was on his way. I told him no one would be home since I was told December 11, 2024 was the date. Nobody showed up on Dec 11, 2024 to install the screens. This complaint comes down to a matter of "Public Trust of the Vendor" in getting paid by their funding process and then not performing, quality controlling the installation and follow-up of their product. I have had a broken window with cold air coming into my house since October. How is this ok? I have attached a picture of the window to add to my complaint.

      Business Response

      Date: 12/20/2024

Thank you for your patience, and we apologize for the ongoing inconvenience. Your window is tentatively scheduled to ship in January, and we are prioritizing the installation of your screens as well. We understand how frustrating this situation has been, especially with the cold air coming in, and we are committed to addressing these issues as soon as possible. We appreciate your understanding as we work to resolve this matter.

I am rejecting this response because:

We are rejecting this response based on the lack of premium customer service/follow-up and waiting a MONTH before you even ordered our replacement window, with not even a phone call of apology and path to rectify. We also want the costs of the screens and a window taken off our purchase price since we are paying for goods and services we are not being able to use. Also, not addressed in the email is what is the fix for the patio door handle that keeps moving and coming loose when you open the door? GDHI has proven itself truly to be a monumental disappointment and bad choice for our project.

      Business Response

      Date: 12/30/2024

To address these issues, we will be scheduling a service call to resolve the patio door handle problem and ensure everything is in proper working order. Additionally, as a gesture of goodwill, we will be providing $500 in compensation for the inconvenience caused. We appreciate your patience and the opportunity to make things right.

This company charged me in full for services and goods that it has not provided. They will not return my phone calls or emails. They are 3 months late on the install. The product has not been delivered in full and the pieces that have been delivered are broken or incorrect.

We’re deeply sorry to hear about your experience and the frustration you’ve encountered. This is far from the standard of service we strive to provide. We want to assure you that we are actively working to resolve these issues. The incorrect walls from the factory caused the delays you mentioned, but the room has been dried in, albeit not with the correct parts. The necessary materials are on order and are scheduled to arrive mid-month. Once they arrive, we will complete the flooring and ensure everything is corrected promptly. Thank you for your patience.

In June I approved patio enclosures to work on my patio deck. The work was not completed to my satisfaction. Several windows and screens were not installed properly. I set up an appointment for workman to fix the problems. The biggest problem is with the door I contacted them numerous times. Once they enter my property without my being at home. Left me a message that the door was fixed; it was not. It continued to slam shut. Two workman came and changed the piston which had a hole in it. They did fix the slamming but now the door does not close securely. I need some assistance on convincing these workman that this door has not been installed correctly. They tell me there is nothing they can do.

      Business Response

      Date: 11/26/2024

We understand your concerns about the storm door's operation and your desire for it to close without slamming. Our team has made multiple adjustments to address this issue, but as with any storm door, factors like air pressure, open windows or doors, and temperature changes can affect its performance. Unfortunately, these natural variations, along with the door's design, limit the extent of adjustments we can make. Thank you.

We signed papers for the porch back in August, 2021. We were required to pay in full by the fall yet no work began. An outlay of 6 figures is a lot of money out especially if work realistically would not begin until the spring of 2022, but we paid in full. Here is a log of everything that went wrong since:- In an effort to bring the footings to requirements the workers put a huge crack in our concrete patio and the fix was sloppy and inadequate - The electrical work was done completely WRONG. Conduit was left all across the beautiful ceiling exposed. After a lot of complaining that was eventually resolved.- Finishing work was awful, i.e. sloppy caulking, leaking roof...eventually resolved. Several windows did not open/shut smoothly.- Our yard was left completely dug up with big pieces of concrete, metal, scraps etc. Ruined our shrubbery. After much complaining that was finally cleaned up, 6 months later - Inadequate framing work. Over winter 2023 we noticed that the frame was "sagging". When pushed it bowed in and out. Resolved in summer 2024.-Spring and summer 2024 laminate wood floor started forming 3/4" gaps between slats. Discovered leaking under the frame between 2x4's and concrete seeping under floor. And now when it rains water is leaking down the lower wall and pooling on the flashing. Explains why the floor is ruined.Apparently our issue is being "discussed" but we have no answers or no commitments for what and when it will be repaired. Now trying to enjoy our porch over the holidays and still have an inadequate product 3-1/2 years later and no end in sight. Plus our floor is ruined. This has been the worst experience ever and we are so distraught that we would like to tear it all down and file for a full refund and other damages....suffering, disappointment and so MUCH of our valuable time fighting through this.

      Business Response

We sincerely regret the challenges and frustrations youve experienced throughout your project. The issues you've outlined are deeply concerning and fall far below the standards we strive to uphold. Please know that we take this feedback very seriously and are committed to resolving these problems. A service call has been scheduled for December to address the ongoing concerns, including the leaking and floor damage. Our team is working to ensure these matters are fully resolved to your satisfaction. Thank you for your patience as we make this right.

I am rejecting this response because I am not willing to close the case until the problems are resolved and we have a satisfactory product/outcome. I appreciate that a service call has indeed been scheduled I am still awaiting a list of what the work plan is that will fix the problem.  So weve made a little progress here in that our concerns have been recognized but again, until the work is actually under way I am not willing to accept the response in full.  Thank you for at least beginning the efforts.

In April 2024 we signed a contract with patio enclosures for a bay window. On May 28, 2024, we followed up with Patio Enclosures for an update as we were told it would be 6-8 weeks for the install. We received a response that it was still being worked on. On July 9, 2024, we sent another followup via email and received a call that the window was ready for install on July 22. On July 30, we sent another request for update as no install occurred. We were told part of the bat window was missing and it was being reordered. On August 27 and September 3 we sent another request for update and recieved no response. On September 5, we called patio enclosures for an update and were told the window was being rushed. We called again for an update on September 25 and October 1 and were told it's being prioritized with an install date of November 28. On November 15 we received an update that it is still being worked on and the install date is no longer accurate and there is no anticipated install date. We have sought to cancel the project and requested a full refund of the money already paid, but no one will give us an answer.

Thank you for your patience as we work through this challenging situation.
Unfortunately, delays from the window factory have significantly impacted the
timeline for your project. These delays are due to the complexity of
manufacturing your units, which require multiple departments and a painting
process. Additionally, one window had to be reordered due to a factory error. We’ve
been in regular contact to keep you informed and ensure you know we haven’t
forgotten about your project, most recently November 15th. While we understand
your frustration, we’re unable to cancel the order since the materials have
been produced, and our contract accounts for supplier-related delays. We are
hoping to receive the corrected window by the end of November, as communicated
by the factory, and will schedule installation promptly upon its arrival. We
share your disappointment in the factory’s delays and lack of clear
communication, but we remain committed to completing your project as soon as
possible. Thank you again for your understanding.

I am rejecting this response because:
It is now the end of November and there is still no window. Despite the company claiming there has been regular communication, there has not been. Most communication was initiated by me through their headquarters. I also requested either a discount or to cancel this order back in July when we first learned of the delay and never recieved a response. The company stated later in their response that the communication could have been better. I am requesting proof beyond allegation that supplies have been ordered and the contract is being fulfilled. The contact does allow for delays, but 7 months is extreme for an estimated 6-8 week process. I believe the company is saying work is being done when it is not.

fulfilled, and we will follow up promptly to provide any additional updates.

[[BBB transcription via duplicate complaint, see attachments]]

      Problem:
In April 2024, my husband and I signed a contract with patio enclosures under Great Day improvement for a bay window to be placed on our living room. After 10 months of waiting and a BBB complaint (#********), we finally got a bay window installed. However, it is not the bay window we ordered. The frame is correct, but the window panes are not. When the installers were here, they claimed to have not known they had the wrong window panes after they already cut a hole in our house. So we allowed them to place the incorrect window panes with the understanding they would be back to correct this error. It has been over a week and no one has reached out to tell us where our correct and clear window frames are. I placed a call on Friday to Patrick and Julie and left a message requesting they call me back. After several delays and a BBB complaint, I find it unprofessional that everything was not correct with the window before scheduling the installation. I'm requesting an update on where my two window panes are and what the estimated wait time is for their replacement. I am also requesting a discounted price due to the stress and amount of my downtime and energy I've spent managing this project, which is a service patio enclosures charges me as a service price. In October, I tried to cancel this order due to loss of confidence in this company based on their lack of communication and forthrightness on our situation (see BBB complaint ********). I was told that the windows were ordered and it could not be cancelled. However it's clear that the windows were not correctly ordered so I now we have this and I want my windows fixed.

      Desired Outcome:
Refund; Contact by the business; Finish the job

      Business Response

      Date: 02/18/2025

Thank you for sharing your experience. We sincerely apologize for the oversight with the window panes and the delays you've encountered. We understand how frustrating this has been, and we take full responsibility for the error. After identifying the issue with the glass, we’ve reordered the correct panes, and the estimated delivery date from the factory is March. While we will make every effort to expedite the process, it’s likely we will be looking at a mid-March installation for the correction. We truly regret the miscommunication and the stress this situation has caused. Our team is committed to making this right, and we’ll keep you updated as soon as the correct panes are ready for installation.

GDI violated their contact with us in 2022 with unprofessional ,sporadic service, poor communication, unskilled labor resulting in mistakes regarding installation of doorways and mismatched parts on 2 enclosed patios for front and back decks. After months of delays and very few full workdays provided to complete our contracted agreements, we sent an email to the supervisor of the local office of GD. He responded with an apology and requested his company to send inspectors out to asses the jobs item and rectify the issues. Workers were ordered to finish both porches, fix the reversed piece, and clean up the litter and nails left all over our lots before they left. The company offered to cut us a refund check as an apology for what we endured over the course of this mismanaged debacle. I received a voicemail om my cellphone from a person I never met, claiming she is collecting $ 13,000 for a delinquent payment left unpaid from 2022. Her phone us untraceable, and she has threatened me with court proceedings if this bogus demand is not rectified. I am outraged. We were gracious enough to accept their settlement and walk away ,and Now, 2 years later someone claiming to be an employee of Great Day is telling me I owe then $13,000? I see on their website feedback that I am not the only customer who has experience with this grift. They used to carry a 4 star rating and a trustworthy reputation. I guess I was wrong about trusting any of the salespeople or Workers who I allowed into my home. Shame on them!

We understand your frustration regarding this situation, and we appreciate
the opportunity to clarify. The balance of $13,651.57 is due as the room has
been installed, and the discrepancy stems from an accounting reversal that
occurred by GreenSky. While we acknowledge the delay in addressing this, we’ve
made multiple attempts to explain the situation and resolve it directly. We

Had new windows installed in January, discover and notified company on june 22, 2024 that the windows do not come out as expected. They said someone would come take a look, that did not happen. Contacted again on July 8, this time they said they are looking onto if it was a manufacturing problem. They called me back July 10 to say they are working on it and would let me know by July 19. They did not. I contacted again on July 21 and July 29. Finally called back to schedule a tech to come out on August 7. The installer came and said yes you need all new sashes. The windows would not come out. August 27 I contacted again because I had not heard anything, they said on August 28 they said they checked and are looking at early October to come in. Early October came and went, I called again this time they said they don’t know why the hold up should be a couple more weeks. Still no sashes that fit so I decided to file the complaint. I also reached out 3 times with the online contact from from the great day website.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

However, I have had to reach out to them every week or 2 to try to get an update. Each time, there is another excuse as to why they have not remade the correct sashes to fit. It has been 5 months now since I notified them of the problem.

Since june of 2024 patio enclosure and great day improvement has been under contract to enclose our back porch, since then they have given us at least three different start times. But no work has been done. They have gotten over 14,000 dollars in my name and I am receiving bills to pay for work that hasn’t been done. I have tried unsuccessfully to contact great day improvement but no one answered the phone or returns my voicemail. I am not prepared to pay 24,000 dollars for work that has not been started or completed. After reading some reviews from past customers I ‘m not sure that i would be willing to trust them to do quality work

Once the materials were ordered + received (about 6 weeks from the contract date(which was expected) the renovation of our patio began.
About 2 weeks later they were done with the exception of the following issues: #1. The air conditioner needs to be hooked up to a power source. this took over a month to complete if not longer. #2. the floor creaks. After numerous visits by owner or more of their employees. This still has not been totally solved yet.
#3. The new door does not open completely and opens the wrong way anyway. #4 My worse complaint is that I am concerned is when it rains water comes from under the door, Not solved as of today. This project has been one recurring headache. We are very disappointed with Patio Enclosures.
