    On Sept 14, 2023 I hired Takeout times to produce a menu for a local ******************* They never did print the advertisement and after months now of asking where it is and why it is not completed. They said they would get to the bottom of it but many emails go unanswered and voicemails. The only time I got a response was when I said I was calling my card company to file the charges as fraud.

    I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

     

    I have also included the email chain where the Sales Rep *** has stated that I would have been contacted and that he has seen the check has been mailed for my refund. I will let you know when I get the check. At this point I do not have high hopes of the check actually coming. I have always had to leave a message of I am turning them in for Fraud or to the BBB.

    My current issue is that they never advertised as per the contract. I have asked for a full refund and *** the customer service rep promised a refund. When I contacted him and said that no refund was applied to the 2 cards I used, He said a check would be mailed to me. Still to this date I have not received a check and No one will return my phone calls from them. 

     

    I am just wanting back the money that was promised to be refunded to me since they did not keep their end of the contract. If you need the email correspondence I attached previously let me know if I need to make heads or tails of it.

    I own a local ******************* and have purchased advertising space from The Takeout Times in previous years. In 2023, I purchased three advertising spaces from The Takeout Times totaling $3990. The advertising was supposed to be displayed on the menus of 5 local restaurants. The first piece of advertising was an ad placed in the takeout menus of three restaurants, Jersey ****** Bagel **** and Los Dos Amigos Fiesta priced at $998. The second piece of advertising was for a one-year ad on the back cover of Brix Grill priced at $1596. The third piece of advertising was for a one-year ad on the back cover of Los Dos Amigos Fiesta priced at $1396. I paid $998 on 7/12/23, $1596 on 9/6/23, $698 on 9/20/23 and $698 on 11/21/23. I can provide proof of payment made to The Takeout Times. My advertisements are not being displayed on any of the menus and when I reached out to the company's customer service to inquire why my ads are nonexistent, I get no answer and my calls are forwarded to a voicemail. I tried calling my sales **** ***** but his extension is invalid. I tried calling the production manager, *** and the phone number does not appear to belong to him any longer. I also called a different sales **** **** with no prevail. I have left messages with no return calls. I am requesting a refund for all monies paid for advertising that was not displayed as promised.

    I am rejecting this response because:

    Since making my original complaint, I have spoken with each of the owners of Brix and Los Dos Amigos Fiesta and have been informed that they have never used The Takeout Times for their menu services.  In previous years, I have paid for advertising on the Los Dos Amigos menu just to be told that my advertising has never been displayed due to the owner creating their own menus and NEVER once has outsourced their menus.  I have received an email from *************** with the Takeout Times and have yet to actually speak with them on the phone after calling the number provided multiple times.  It's becoming more and more apparent that I have been scammed out of thousands of dollars for advertising from a company that does not even have a relationship with any of the restaurants they claim to provide menu services for.

    On August 30th 2023 a transaction made to The Table Times for $1,596. The company that promises ads in menus still haven't done so. It has been 5+ months now.I have attempted to get a refund on this and they insist that there is no path in which I would get a refund even if they never get an ad out for me. Their loophole is the 120 guarantee requires approval of an article. And, when an article is never done; the 120 day timer never starts. I am told there is no guarantee of service in their contract but they also will not send me a copy of the contract to verify after repeated requests. Their sales people promised an ad in my ******************** within 90 days. The sales team also told me that if it went beyond 120 days that I could get a refund.

    I own a tattoo shop that won best of my city for 2023. In August of 2023, I was sought out by ************** from the Take Out Times. They told me because my business has won that they wanted to feature me in their pamphlet. Being a new business owner I was excited for the opportunity. I was told that my ad would be in 3 different busy local restaurants take out menus and got excited to promote my business. I was first told 90 days from ad approval. Their design team created my ad and a child could have done it better. I took the time to make my own, submitted it and played the waiting game. I was told 90 days, then 120 days, then 120 days from approval, then 2 more weeks they breached their contract with me. It is now 2/16/24 and still no ad. I contacted my contact person, *********************, and once revealing I was upset, he avoided me like the plague. I paid $499 to be featured with absolutely nothing to show for it. I proceeded to call everyone on their contact list and repeatedly sent to voicemail of customer service. *** left many messages and no one has called me back. I finally got in touch with ***********************, the companys VP and explained how they were in breach of contract and requested a refund. She assured me that my money would be refunded to me within 72 hours of Monday due to their accountants pay period or something like that 72 hours came and went and I am STILL waiting for my refund. I will continue to call and raise h*** until I receive my refund. I came here to file a claim and low and behold, this is their MO. They have taken advantage of MANY Small business owners the exact way they took advantage of me. HUGE buyers remorse with zero outcome. Heed my warning, do not do business with this company, they are a team of scam artists. My red flag started to appear shortly after I signed their contract and they were asking for more money for a bigger ad. I told them I wanted to see what they could do for me first. Thank goodness I didnt send them any more.

    On 6/6/2023 we paid 599. to The Takeout Times for advertisement in a booklet that was to be distributed locally. We have called and e-mailed numerous times and there was always an excuse or empty promises provided. On 1/23/2024, I spoke with *************** who agreed we should be provided a refund and he promised to submit our request and said he would call me the following day. I never got that phone call or the promised refund. When I called his phone number this morning I learned it has been disconnected. This is an elaborate scam and we want our money back.

    I agreed to place ads with the Leominster takeout times for advertising in four different local restaurant takeout booklets that would be distributed with all takeout orders. I paid $499 for a years worth of advertising on May 19, 2023 I was promised that the advertising books would be out no later than August 1 and my year subscription would go from August 1 through July 31, 2023. As of this date January 17, **** there have been no ads or books produced. Upon further investigation, and looking at this company and its ****** reviews, several people have complained of the same exact problem. I have called the company several times and left voicemails for someone to please return my call and let me know what is happening. No one will return calls or reply to me. The only response I got was after I posted a ****** review. The response was from the production manager, *********************, apologizing but also , threatening that he will take legal action with ****** for indicating that his business a scam. I never use the word scam and was just simply stating for other buyers to be aware of not to use this company based on my experience, and the experience of several other people. I have reached out to my bank to try to get reimbursement and dispute the funds however, since **** much time has a lapsed, I am unable to get my money back from my bank at this time. I kept being patient and optimistic that the takeout times would make good on their promise to deliver my ads however I am very disappointed that as a small business, I trusted them with $500 for advertising, which has still not happened at this point, I am nearing close to a year since I gave them the payment of $499.00 with no delivery of goods. I would like to file a formal complaint against this company, as it appears to have happened to several other people across the country. This is not a company I would like to do business with an IM requesting a full refund on my $499.00

    I am rejecting this response because I am requesting a refund of the $499.00 I paid for advertising that was not delivered anywhere near the timeframe I agreed to when  purchasing advertising in the takeout times. This is way longer  than an unforeseen circumstance, it is likely never happening. Therefore this solution is not acceptable to me as It has have been several months without any resolution. I do not wish to do business with this company now or in the future as they have not delivered on their promises. It seems this is the case with many other unsatisfied clients as well,  in many other markets. This is evident as I  read reviews and prior complaints, this is not an isolated case by any means.

    This company finally offered to give me a refund finally but as I suspected, they have no intention of doing so it has been over a month and not a word from them. They are completely fraudulent in my opinion, liars, thieves, and thugs.! All I want is my $499 back As they finally agreed, to do so but they have not refunded me.
