Skyy Parking sent me a parking violation for a car that I do not own for a day I was out of town. I have never been to their location. They helpfully include video footage of the car in question, a two door coupe. My car is a 4-door SUV. They helpfully provided the license plate number of ******. I do not own a car with that license plate number. After sharing these facts with Skyy Parking through the appeal process and explicitly asking them to check their work and run the 169NUU plate again, my appeal was denied. The phone number lists here on the BBB site goes straight to voicemail. This 'violation' needs to be sent to the proper owner of the vehicle.Business Response

Your appeal was responded to and the outcome was in your favor which had the parking violation overturned. Thank you for contacting the BBB!Customer Answer

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.I would suggest that the business might improve their reputation by not sending erroneous notices, giving more options on their appeal worksheet, reading appeals the first time and providing a method for direct communication. Respectful and reasonable treatment should not require intervention by the BBB. The BBB should not have to serve as the complaint and appeal department for Skyy Parking.
Thank you for your assistance. It is greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,

Received a bill in the mail addressed to me. It had a picture of a car that I dont own and have never owned. Company is hard to get ahold of and dont offer options for this on the website. They also dont offer a phone number. Not sure where they got my info from. I would assume they get peoples info from license plate and the **** the picture they sent is not a car that my info is attached with or has ever been attached with. I dont believe this company is legitimate and fear it could be harming others credit. I dont even live in ****** and havent visited in years. Looking at other complaints I wonder how many people get sent someone elses bill and they keep adding charges to it for their incompetence.Business Response

Yes it is unfortunate that skyy can not bill correctly and waste peoples time. You dont offer anyway to get ahold of an associate, and only offer ways to pay. I Had to agree to your terms and conditions on the website just to submit anything. **** really needs to work on customer service. Looking at how many issues are filed with BBB. If I ever visit ******** Ill make a not to park else where.

Dear ***/*****,I'm writing to express my frustration and concern about Skyy parking at *********************************************** I drove into this parking lot on Nov 4, 2023 and parked to shop at an adjacent local business. I did not see a clear signage stating it is a "pay to park" lot at the entrance. A few days later I received a letter from Skyy parking charging me $7 parking fee + $50 fine. I wanted to express my concern about Skyy parking because I saw many similar complaints on BBB bashing them about exploiting people and operating their business in an unethical way. Many people said they did not see a clear sign like me. Some said they drove in and out without staying and still got fined. This is not an ethical way that a business should operate with. They fail to put up a clear sign warning people it is a "pay to park" lot at the entrance and fail to put up any charge station or gate. This is extremely confusing and deceiving to people. If I had seen a clear sign, I would have paid for it or chosen another parking lot instead of thinking this is a public parking lot. I tried to appeal to them but they denied it like what they did to many other people. With all of those complaints, they still chose not to put up a clearer sign or gate, I feel they are ignoring this intentionally so there will be more and more people falling into their trap and they can make money out of it. I already filed a complaint with *****************. I hope you could help to resolve the issue. Ticket NO. 23BV110417 Thank you,Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:With these many people saying your sign is not clear, there is a problem with the way you put up the signage to indicate it is a "pay to park" lot.
I already filed a complaint with the authority. With these many complaints and no action from the business to amend it, the business should be suspended until they take proper action to rectify.

Skyy Parking is predatory. I was charged a ticket for parking in a "private spot" in downtown *********, behind Mocha Tea house. *There was no signage, at all, stating that the lot or any of the spaces are private. I was issued a ticket for this.Worse, the ticket was sent three states away to ****, to my father's address. The due date was passed by the time my dad sent the ticket back to me. The tickets are due VERY soon after issuance and they DOUBLE if not paid in the first round. This is what happened to me. This is predatory. I don't know if they have sent this to collections. But not having signs, charging people, and moving the goal post on payment is predatory. Predatory lending is illegal and so should private parking agencies.Business Response

The parking lot is owned by the land lord of the restaurant i was picking my food up from which is attached to the restaurant. They contract the parking out to this predatory parking company and charge people for trying to pick food up from the restaurant and it also sounds like they try to charge people for just driving in and out of the parking lot. The was 2 10 min parking spots for pickups but my order was going to take 30mins so i left those spots closer to the entrance for delivery companies and i get charged $57. I tried to explain that i didnt see the pay to park sign and i thought it was the restaurants parking lot and that i was just picking up my food and that there was no parking due to a farmers market and a street being closed for a pedestrian area. Horrible company with lots of complaints and unfortunately im powerless to do anything about this extortion also gave them my receipt for my pickup from the restaurant.Business Response
Date: 11/09/2023
The complainant is correct, the landlord owns the parking lot as well as other buildings. However, this parking lot is operated as a pay to park lot just as the restaurants require payment for meals. We apologize for any inconvenience but there are no grounds that would warrant a dismissal of this parking violation. Please observe postings that state payment is reuqired.Initial Complaint

I received a collection notice for the amount of $114. I moved to ***** and never received the original ticket for parking in a Skyy parking lot. I was already moved to ***** when the collection agency sent their notice. I disputed and the collection agency sent a photo of my vehicle and my son picking up a door dash food delivery, one day before he drove the car to me in *****. Skyy Parking would have been notified by **** of my change of address just as the collection agency was notified. Skyy Parking failed to send the ticket to my updated address and they instead doubled the amount owed since I hadnt responded to the first request for payment. I have made a payment to the collection agency for the initial ticket amount of $57. I find Skyy Parkings tactics to be deceitful and predatory! My son wasnt aware of any requirement to pay for parking outside of these businesses as he picked up food to deliver for a $6 profit.Business Response

Hello,
Vehicles registered in ****** would likely have an ****** address. If you set up mail forwarding then your notices would have been forwarded to your ***** address. This is something you would need to do with the post office. As for your son picking up a door dash order, he should have observed the postings indicating that payment is required for parking.

I am rejecting this response because:There are so many other similar complaints that it is blatantly obvious this company is deceptive and predatory. Rather than responding professionally, the responder chose violence. In *******, you must register for a mail box key which takes weeks. Once the company was notified of my change of address by **** the moral thing to do would NOT have been to double the fine and send to collections. A business of integrity would not argue about the hundreds of complaints about signage visibility. A company of integrity would fix the issue. Continue to do bad business and be disgusting.

Their parking areas do not have adequate signage posted to indicate that it is a fee based parking area. The signage appear to show that it's a public parking area which is deceiving. The bill was sent to the incorrect address and additional penalties were added that they were unwilling to remove. After 4 mths they finally obtained my new address and sent me a bill but was unwilling to adjust the late fee on it.Business Response

Hello,
Skyy Parking only contacts parking violators by the address registered with their state DMV. Your account has been assigend to a collection agency who may have used alternative methods to capture your correct address. We apologize for the inconvenience but this location is not the public right of way and this location requires payment upon parking as posted.

Vehicle parked for a brief 10 minutes for to-go milk tea at Skyy parking's ********* lot that used to be fee free. Signs weren't clear because of the the way the lot traffic was guided. An unintentional action got caught for a hefty $60 fee. Wife drove back after receiving the violation note and paid for the $7 dollar amount as she'd honor the fact that she parked here even though given the unclear signs. She appealed through online tool, and explained in a very nice letter to Skyy parking explaining the situation and hoping to drop the violation with her later, but better than never, payment for the $7 parking cost. Received an email denying this appeal while we've already left the country for a family emergency abroad. Wife responded back to ******************************** furthering the communication, however, no response at all even though this email is listed as the contact method on their website. Once we are back from the trip, the amount rose to $120 while it's still in the dispute process. Now the ticket is sent over to debt collection. We'd want to file a complaint while filling a few other complaints with the city/Attorney *************** and our state senator based off following ground: A- debt owner is not correct to start with.B- the driver's parking experience at the lot with no clear signs doesn't justify the motion of 'her seeing the parking sign and chose not to pay for it' (not an intentional violation). C- she went all the way back to figure out what happened, where the signs are, and paid for the $7 dollars with a long appeal for resolution explaining what exactly happened from a consumer perspective. However, this got denied, showing Skyy parking is on predator scheme and not allowing people showing good faith for innocent violation with corrective action behaved immediately. D- She wrote back, no response but a debt collection note. Shows business neglecting customer service but only cares about hefty fee collection. Thanks for listeningBusiness Response

I'd love to communicate back to the business since they didn't address some of the points in my original claim.1. I am asking to drop the violation as a. I've paid the $7 later, and I described how I parked that day (now with the arrows added in the photo). I went in from the orange arrow, and parked immediately at the available spot that's to the right next to *************** painting. I hopped off the car, and headed immediately out to the milk tea place that's adjacent to the north side of the parking lot. Headed back in from the orange arrow, and when driving out, SUPER easy to miss the signs too. From my route, you can see why I claimed the signs are not clear, at least from my experiences there, and given the impression that the lot used to be free so I didn't walk around to check on the signs. After receiving their original note, I went back to the lot again, and paid for the $7, acknowledging the fact that I did park there for a brief 10-15 minutes. But given the explanation of my experience and me paying for the $7, I think it shows good faith to get things resolved as an unintentional miss of reading the signs based off the route in the parking lot -- which I described in my original appeal.
2. I'd also want to make the point clear that the business should NOT double the amount while I was still following up on my original dispute - I emailed back and got no response. They simply doubled the fine without getting back to me. This makes me feel that the customer is at a very vulnerable stage even the customer is showing good will and seeking for a resolution.
Thanks to let me know short-term parking and other resources. However, I did NOT see the signs from the route I took at the parking, and to show up as a good customer, I paid for $7 when I realized and recognized this, and filed for an appeal with explanation. The action followed after that from the business made me feel it's not working together with customer instead only caring about own lucrative gains from fining customers without validating the ground of violation. I hope we can revisit it to show the business is in a good position to deal with the customers, and drop the fines with me as I've already paid for the $7 fee, even though it's a bit too late (not same day).
Best,
***.Initial Complaint

I received a H3139333**633313****2H ticket from Skyy Parking which I've already paid, invoice #**H093002 I have 2 major issues:1. There is not enough signage and information in or around the H3139333**633313****2H lot specifying that the lot is paid. The lot appears to be specifically for the new pizza place that just opened rather than a paid general use lot. I've never paid to park at a pizza place. Additionally, there is no payment kiosk or information booth to learn about the terms of H3139333**633313****2H in the lot. No hours, prices, ***** ******s, etc. It's as if they expect you to assume the lot is paid and have a smart phone that's connected to the internet so that you can pay.2. I only briefly parked to pick up a pizza at the aforementioned new pizza place. I wager I was only parked for around 5 minutes, enough time to go into the pizza place and pick up my order. There doesn't seem to be any ***** ****** whatsoever, and with uber eats drivers taking up the handful of 15 minute H3139333**633313****2H spots, where are people supposed to park and pick up their pizza? I do not recall if the 15 minute H3139333**633313****2H spots were open while I was there, but the whole thing just feels wrong, I shouldn't have to pay to run into a restaurant and grab my carry out order.I've already paid the ticket, but I intend to write a letter to the city complaining about Skyy Parking. I know I'm not the only one this has happened to, and at the very least they should put up more signs/information and they should relax their ***** ****** before writing a ticket to be at least 10 minutes or so.Business Response

This parking lot is independently operated. There are two 15 minute parking spaces for food delivery drivers. All other parking spaces require payment as indicated by any of the eight posted signs. Please see photo attached. We apologize for any inconvenience this experience may have caused you.
