On **** I pulled into the parking lot in downtown ********* by sizzle pie to pick up a pizza. I was there for less than 15 minutes to pick up my pizza to go. Since I had not been to the area before as sizzle pie just opened in that area I was not aware of the Skyy parking. They fined me $55 dollars for being in their Parking lot for less than 15 minutes. I provided proof that I was only in the lot for under 15 minutes waiting to pick up a pizza and they denied my appeal with no way to follow up any further. Skyy parking needs to be removed from the downtown ********* area as it will damage peoples experience visiting a growing area going forward. I would like this fine to be waived and more temporary parking areas created in that lot for future visitors. I have also made this complaint to the City Manager of ********* office and plan on raising it to the ****** Attorney General if it is not resolved promptly. A predatory business like Skyy parking will only harm developing areas and will not add value.Business Response

This location requires payment in advance or upon parking as posted. There are designated stalls for 15 minute parking that the complainant did not use.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: it is not even a response that offers a resolution it's just a comment. If they would like to offer a resolution such as lowering the amount of the bill to the cost of 15 minutes I would be open to that. Like I said in my original complaint it was my first time visiting that lot so I missed the 15 minute spots until I was leaving. If they would like to make them stand out more or update their signage to point them out it might help going forward. But at the end of the day I was there under 15 minutes I'm not paying $55 dollars.
Sincerely,

I was not aware that the parking was prepay nor that any payment was required. The phone charge is outrageous and there should be a method to pay direct without exorbitant cost of another party. $44 for phone service is consumer predatory fee, along with administrative fee of $6. I am more than willing to pay the 13$ for **** parking fee and $6 admin fee. This type of price gouging cuts back on customer patronage. It leaves the ******************* as feeling not safe and fair.Business Response

This location requires pay by phone in advance as posted. Failing to see, observe, or obeying these postings upon entering the parking lot will not be an acceptable reason for a dispute. We apologize for any inconvenience this experience may have caused you but there are no valid grounds that would require the dismissal of this violation. I received a ticket on 6/27/23. I went to appeal it on 07/24/23 which was before the 30 day cut off for appeals. I received a response from Skyy parking on 08/02/23 which stated the appeal was denied. So as of today I promptly was going to pay it. And now they said it is DOUBLED THE FINE. Due to their negligence of a response within the window I am asked to pay the fine double. I want this reversed so I can pay my original amount. They have no phone number. No direct contact line and that is exactly how they reel in extra profits off these tickets. Disgrace of a company with zero *******.Business Response

Thanks for giving us the opportunity to respond. The parking violation was issued correctly, as well as the scheduled fine increase. We did respond to the complainant and also provided an additional two weeks to pay the fine at the original amount.Customer Answer

Skyy Parking is engaged in predatory behavior by issuing 'parking fines' for vehicles that simply drove onto, then drove off a private parking lot. They are mailing official looking violations demanding excessive fees and rejecting any and all appeals based on purported signage and threatening damage to recipients credit reports.Skyy Parking does not have authority under municipal code to act in such a manner.Business Response

On March 26th I paid for parking at their facility. We were extremely lazy and tired and did not actually put in an accurate license plate number because we didn't want to walk back four times to get it, but I did display the paid for ticket in my window. I've been trying to fight the ticket showing proof of payment by a bank statement and proof of payment from the original ticket and they will not respond. They will not respond to the multiple phone calls and voicemails I have left eitherBusiness Response

The sole reason for enterring your license plate number for a ********************** transaction is so that if a violation is issued, it can be quickly resolved. Based on the information you provided, the displayed parking pass was clearly expired and the proof you provided did not match the license plate number. Please follow instructions.Initial Complaint

This business Skyy Parking is charging me a $57 fine for being in a parking lot on **** ************************* in *********. The date of the fine they sent me is 7/26/2023. They are provided no way for me to appeal this ticket unless I can provide proof of purchase, however, I was only in this lot for less than five minutes before I realized the prices and left. They have footage of me in the lot so they must know how short of a time I was there, however I am unable to prove that. They are charging $44 fine $7 parking fee and $6 administrative fee. It does not seem legal to charge someone a fine for use of a parking lot for less than five minutes. And it definitely does not seem legal to charge those extra administrative and parking fees on top of a fine. I would like the charges to be dismissed.Business Response

I received a bill from Skyy Parking with the fine doubled from $57 to $114 because it was a second notice, but I never received an initial notice. While Im angry that I was charged for being in their lot for less than 5 minutes to pick someone up, Im more angry to get fined for not paying an invoice I never received in the first place. I submitted an appeal on their website asking for the late fee to be removed and received a form response: Your appeal has been received and reviewed. This location requires pay by phone in advance as posted. Failing to see, observe, or obeying these postings upon entering the parking lot will not be an acceptable reason for a dispute. We apologize for any inconvenience this experience may have caused you but there are no valid grounds that would require the dismissal of this violation. As such, any request for dismissal is denied.I never asked them to dismiss the fee (even though Im very annoyed to be charged for basically pulling into their lot and then leaving mere minutes later), I only asked that the late fine be removed since I never received a first notice. They clearly didnt even read my appeal. And then the company offers no way to contact them to discuss the dispute. Its absurd and very suspicious business activity, and looking at complaints here I am by far not the first to think so! BBB something needs to be done about this! Companies need to be held accountable just as individuals are. I will pay their exorbitant fee but not twice that for failing to pay a first notice that I never received! Such a scam.Business Response

H3338333**03133303034H sent me a letter claiming a H3139333**633313****2H violation (# **BV01409) at 4:54 PM on June 5, 20**. I filed a dispute on their website, providing them timestamped video proof that my car was parked at home in my garage at that date and time, and thus the violation and request for payment for said violation was invalid. They refuse to dismiss the H3139333**633313****2H violation despite actual physical proof that I was not in their H3139333**633313****2H lot at the date/time the violation was issued for. They continue to insist that they have checked their systems and the date/time are correct, despite my own countering video proof that I was not in their lot at the time of the violation. They have also not provided requested higher-resolution photographs of their alleged proof, as the printed out photos in their violation are of such low quality that a positive identification is impossible. They have yet to provide any further proof to counter my timestamped video other than their claims that the time/date are correct, but keep sending payment requests for their invalid violation. I request immediate dismissal of this violation, as they have not met the burden of proof that I was in their H3139333**633313****2H lot at said date/time.Business Response

Complaint: 20407344
I am rejecting this response because:Business issued me a parking violation with extremely low-resolution photographic evidence stating I was in their lot at a specific date and time. I have provided high-resolution time-stamped video evidence proving that I was not in their lot at this time on that date. They have provided no further evidence to back up their claim other than repeating their claim that I was in their lot at this time despite a request for higher-resolution images because neither the person nor the vehicle is identifiable from their evidence provided
Their software also misidentified the vehicle in the photograph in question as a vehicle color and type that I do not own. They responded to questions about how their software identifies vehicles with a vague statement about percentage matches that did not explain anything or give any additional information.

In addition to my previous response providing more info: I have questions about how this business obtained my personal information to send this alleged violation. There was no notice left on my car; violation was sent directly to my home. This indicates that they are running license plates to obtain personal info in violation of the Driver's Privacy Protection Act. When filing appeal for the violation, the terms & conditions ***** them access to vehicle info; however, they had already sent violation to my home so already had accessed my info at that time, before I agreed to those terms & conditions. While there are notices on their website that parking in the lot *****s them permission to access vehicle info, this info is not posted anywhere on-site, thus there is no way for a user to agree to it. I *****ed no permission to access vehicle info and believe they are in violation of the **** by running license plates without express consent. I will be consulting with the *************************** this week about the legality of their methods.Business Response

Complaint: 20407344
I am rejecting this response because: appeal was made within 30 days of initial receipt of notice. Business has not responded to details of this complaint in any way. They have been communication with me regarding this matter since a few days after the notice was received, but now appear unwilling to discuss with me because I'm not the registered owner of the vehicle? This is confusing.
Again, I believe they illegally obtained my personal information violating the Driver Privacy Protection Act. I have provided them video proof that this vehicle was not in their parking lot at the specific date and time they claim it was.

On 6/24, I received a Parking Violation Notice from Skyy Parking for parking in the lot off ************* in *********. The notice was for a parking violation: $44 for the violation; $5 for Parking Fee; $6 Administrative Fee. It indicated that an appeal could be made in writing within 30 days and that valid proof of payment be provided. It stated that "Failure to see, observe, or obey the postings will not be acceptable reason for an appeal."I had parked in the lot (a former US Bank lot) for several years to attend the ********* Saturday ******** Market; usually for less than 20 minutes - without charge (while also having an account with the bank). In my appeal I indicated that the east-end of the lot, where I had entered, had no outward facing signage indicating the requirement to pay for parking. One cannot "see" what is not posted at the point of entry. Note: This is the only pay to park lot in *********.The notice received was threatening. That any failure to pay would have a negative impact on my credit.I provided payment (by check) to Skyy Parking for Admin and Parking fees ($11). Skyy Parking accepted this payment (check cashed on 7/27).To date, I have received no response from Skyy Parking to my appeal, only another billing for $110; with no credit for the previous $11 provided.Business Response

Hello, This parking lot is not the same property as US Bank and is actually accross the street. This parking lot has four postings indicating that payment is required in advance subject to ticket. Non compliance is at your own risk. If you have valid proof of payment for this day please provide.Customer Answer
Date: 08/02/2023
I am not sure what the reference to the US Bank has to do the current issue. My only comment was that the lot had previously been owned by US Bank, so let's dispense with further reference to it. Regarding lot signage, as previously stated, the lot had no outward facing signage at its east entrance (see attached). Regarding payment, please see attached. This payment was part of an appeal submitted on 29 June, per Skyy Parkings instructions, which they failed to reply to.
