1 starI took my car to pepboys July 3rd they charged me 4300 for work basic work . I picked my car up on 4th and on the 5th I went to take my nonverbal autism son to school therapy and it broke down on me. I call pepboys just to get told it wasn't they fault and I could have it towed in and if it was there fault they wouldn't charge me for tow ..**** behold we already knew it wasn't they fault. So I was told not there fault and they could fix my throttle body for 560 dollars..I said I just had that fixed three months ago ma'ma and she said also it's not *****ed that it's going to run or not break down again .. ok so here I am been with out a car for 8days ..lost my job son is losing his daily therapy for missing days. I don't have any one to help me.. I had a ***** from ************ that helped with this fix. The way I got treated is like I spent dollars not 4300 . ***** was for the guy to work on my car .. I've drove my car two years and I drove it up in pepboys to get it back broke down .. it's very sad how pepboys take advantage of single mother's. Now my car is setting at pepboys waiting for me to tow it back home. I'm calling a lawyer cause it's not right. I told them I needed a tune up to find out I didn't get it ..I ask her why she said it didn't need nothing but oil change ok. Tow truck said my car was the 60th car he has picked up to tow back to pepboys so something going on I ask for a different mechanic, and she said they only had one mechanic. ?? I had another ****** tell me he would have fixed what they fixed for 700 and that it's very sad they took my ***** and left me without a car.. he said they probably thinking they will fix more that they did.. but problem is they won't. She will be back Monday from vc so I hope she gets her lawyer involved.. cause this is a place that helps single mother with nonverbal autism kids .. so please avoid PEPBOYS AT ALL COST ...PLEASE PRAY FOR ME AND MY SON TO GET CAR FIXED ASAPReview fromVladimir V

1 starWow.. PepBoys REALLY HATES their customers. I mean, I am not exaggerating. I also reported to their corporate customer ********************** but wanted to let the world know as well. I feel like I have been brutally mistreated recently (today). They have an online system that allows customers to make an appointment for a specific time. This means that they let their customers plan the day accordingly because they have an appointment system. I made an appointment for today July 13, 2024, at 8:30 AM. I came in much earlier than 8:30 but the person at the front desk rudely told me (in a scolding manner, as if I did something wrong), without even greeting me as a customer, that there were people ahead of me that made an appointment days before me and that the appointment system doesnt matter to them and I have to wait as long as it will take them to fix other cars. So as you can see, I was completely unappreciated and discouraged. In fact, yesterday evening, I stopped by Pep Boys to confirm that my appointment is all set and I should be able to be here today at 8:30 to get it done. And the person at the front desk told me and promised me that yes sure, 100%! Said I was all set and there should be no problems. So now, I feel like I have been lied to. I feel like I have been mistreated and I feel like PepBoys are not standing by their word. I had other appointments and critical things to get done today and now my day is ruined because I dont know when my car will be returned back to me. My life has been drastically impacted because of this. This is not right and PepBoys as a company needs to fix this problem. Because we as customers are the ones that make their business run. If they do not have customers, they will not have business. And, if this will not get taken care of, I will have to take it further through some legal actions. 1 starI purchased a lifetime warranty a few years back for a wheel alignment at a Pepboys ******************************************************************. I recently went back to the location to get a wheel alignment the location was closed. I then called the nearest location to try to bring my car to get serviced I was denied. I had to show a proof of purchase that I dont have . I have called the ***** number and have spoken with several people to only get nowhere . Im a college student living off part time work. 1 starAfter an extremely disturbing interaction with GIO at the Pep Boys location in ***************** , my family , friends and I will never again give our business to Pep Boys. They billed me for services NOT performed, and after calmly asking GIO to take those services off of my invoice, he shouted while other female customers were in the lobby:***********************! What the f*** is wrong with you lady? You are a f****** nut job! One customer was so beside herself, she approached him about his behavior and commended me on my calm kind demeanor. This occurred today 12:30-1:30pm. 1 starPepBoys put my family's life in jeopardy, Corporate ignoring me.Heres the long story summarized: Bought 75k ****** tires from pep boys, they damaged my wheels, they refused to fix/pay. At 30k miles, brought my vehicle in to get tires rebalance since I was getting vibration, and an oil change. Shop does oil change, puts 7.5qts of oil into my 5.9qt vehicle causing engine issues. Pay to get those fixed at another shop. $250, then get on the road and my vehicle starts shaking uncontrollably. Took to another PepBoys 3 cities over as I broke down. That store manager informs me that my tires are all defective, severely separated and couldve put my entire familys life in danger on the highway. Also informs me that this damage wouldve been clearly visible and illegal to put these wheel back on my vehicle 120miles earlier at the first pep boys shop. Had to buy new tires Called corporate and got the we will have someone call you, kept calling them back every 3 days and now 11 days later I have yet to have ANY response or solution from them.??Most inept shop I have ever used, and so far the worst customer ********************** I have ever experienced.Review frompattra d

1 starCome here with a running car. The pep boyyyys analyze it and said its the alternator. I agree to be fixed. They asked me to wait for 2 hours. They said it need to stay over night. The day after they asked me about my own lock *****, because they said that the imobilezer was active. After debating with the manager. I bring my own lock *****. My lock ***** opinion was the pepboys fried the mcu. The pep boys know it. The pep oys said they will fixed it. Its been 3 weeks that the car in their posesion and no result, the pep boys said they will call me but they dont. I have to call to ask the status of my car. Their excuses was the system of spare part ordering is down so they are waiting for the parts. I HAD enough. I donot trust them any more. I towed my car and find another mechanic that skillful beside them. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS STOREReview fromJeff E

1 star******* tried to sell me front brake pads and cutting front rotors for $480 plus tax. Total ripoff. Then he charged me $50 more than he quoted for oil change. 1 star*********** store cracked my alternator tried gluing it back together and told me I needed a new one . I took my car to another repair shop they discovered my alternator had been tampered with and tried to cover up by gluing it back together. They ended up keelping my car for almost 2 days when I had just went in for a simple oil change ended up charging me over ***** dollars and now and additional 800 having to get a new alternator.. there is absolutely no recourse with this company they care nothing about customer ********************** and I feel they take advantage of women .. if youre a single woman Id avoid this place at all costReview frommic w

1 starstopped in over the weekend to get a tire patched. ***** and **** were very professional but did not have time for my tire. set an appointment for Wed @ 10am, and *** told me it would be done in ***** minutes. 3 hours go by, and after *** tells me i'm next, they pull another car in the stall before mine. techs were moving at a snails pace, no sense of urgency. all customers in the waiting area were complaining. taking my business fleet of autos elsewhere that will appreciate my business.Review fromDouggy D

1 starMy 19 year old son went to have his car serviced for one thing. He previously had a lot of break work completed by a mechanic, who advised him to get a wheel alignment. He specifically made an appointment for a wheel alignment and was told $99.95. Then they told him that he needed more work completed, which the work ended up being $474.00. He agreed to the work because he wasn't aware of the additional charges. I contacted Pep Boys Headquarters in *********** and they were no help. They were just as terrible and unprofessional as the Pep Boys in *************. I continuously emailed them, which they responded to me that a representative from the ********************* was going to contact me and if they do not contact me in a day to call them. I contacted them and told them what had happened. They stated that they would contact me when the ********************* calls them. I never received a response. I waited a week to give them time. I had to call again with them stating that they denied my request for adjusting the price. Yes, my son agreed to the work, but they somehow overcharged and lied about what work was performed. They charged him $285.00 for labor for tightening something on the breaks. I followed protocol. I contacted the store, emailed the company, contacted headquarters, and now am very frustrated because they have not satisfied anything. After reading multiple places where REVIEWS are located and shared, I see that they have a ONE STAR RATING which is the least number that can be earned, even though many unsatisfied customers would love to give them a 0 "ZERO". They are terrible, unprofessional, and unknowledgeable thieves. They aren't making Pep Boys look any better.
