I took my car into pep boys around September 19th, 2023 and I had a manager named ******** And the mechanic I don't remember his name but he's the tall skinny white boy with blonde hair. Nonetheless, these two were scamming customers at pep boys in ******, ******* on speedway and alvernon pretending that things were wrong with my car that was not wrong with the car so they can get more money. I brought my car in because I smelt burnt wire which I knew was my belts. She came back telling me that I needed my back brakes, my rotors, my pads that I needed my alternator. I didn't go in there because my battery was dying. The only thing that I went in there for was my belts. When i came to pick up my car they told me that I was going to continue to hear noises but it would go away gradually in time. The noise got worse and worse and every time I brought my car in there they never looked at my back brakes. They only looked at my front then they came back telling me that I needed three wheel bearing hubs. After having my car for 48 hours I ended up getting a second opinion and the person's like your car is too new. You do not need three wheel bearing hubs. I've replaced my alternator and my battery three times within 5 months and my brakes have continually sound terribly. When I got my second opinion it in fact told me that what I thought was going on was going on! This business has been scamming me and the manager. The new manager confirmed what I thought was true. I'm an Uber driver. I've had over 700 riders in my car and they took my pads off my brakes and put on old pads from another car And the grinding noises that I've been hearing is the pads grinding into my tires. I never took my car in there for rod breaks. I took my car in there for belts. The girl works down the street now at another pep boy but they fired the mechanic. I'm that satisfied. And I'm definitely reporting to BBB and a police report.

I took my vehicle for an oil change but ended up having to possibly REPLACE the entire engine. Less than 48 hours after leaving the business, my engine was alerting NO OIL!! I have contacted the corp office as well as requested the video proving OIL WAS PUT IN...I was not provided the video OR proof!! My vehicle is no longer drivable because the tech did not change the oil according to a mechanic I took the car to afterwards. NOT FAIR!! NOT FAIR!!! NOT FAIR!!

Pep Boys on ***********. in ********** always does a great job taking care of my car. They go out of their way to make sure my needs are taken care of. Recently I had a positive experience with an employee named Fresh. He replaced my air filter and didnt charge me installation. He also helped me put on my blind spot mirrors to help me see better. I felt like I was not just another customer but someone special. Thank you Fresh and Pep BoysKarl, ****, etc.

I've been a PEP BOYS customer for 14 years and never had a problem. Most recent service was new brakes and shocks. The job was completed in 6 hours at a reasonable price and I've driven the car for a week and everything is working well. I would recommend PEP BOYS to any one that wants a professional company to maintain your car or cars.

If I could give them a negative star - I would. Today My 80 year old mom went to pep boys to purchase wiper blades ($60.00) and asked if they would put them on for her (which in the past they graciously did at no charge). Today they said they would install them for $20.00 each blade. Are you kidding me?! This would probably take one of their service people 3 minutes to install. She took her business elsewhere and will never be back. This is very disappointing

Went to Pep Boys # 1558 in Hiram, GA on 03/27/2024. I went for an AC Check up and after the diagnosis they told me that the work will cost me $1,044.57 and told me that I must pay up front for the services. I was hesitant and William Frieson the supervisor told me that I must pay him up front which I did and he told me to come back the following day in order for the work to be done.
By the time I got home with my car my family that works in the mechanic field told me that was too much money. So the following day I went back to the store #1558 in Hiram and told them I needed a refund and that I do not want the job done anymore on my car. They refused to give me back my money.
I requested for the manager James G***** and he told me that the refund has to be authorized by the cooperate manager in Marietta and that he would give me a call the next day and instead of calling me the following day, I received a text saying that my car was ready for pick up and services are complete.
My car went home with me right after the diagnosis. I went back to the store and again today 04/01/2027 and the manager told me to come back again. They just don't want to refund that money and giving me the run around for my hard earn money.

I have used Pep Boys in Pleasant Hill for nearly 20 years because I received good service up until now. I don't know if it's the management or corporate changes.
On Jan. 4th I called for a price on a brake job on my 2017 GMC 1500 and was told $209 per axle. I was headed out of town on a road trip in a few days so set first appointment on 01/05/24. After arriving they told me I needed rotors so it would be over $1300. They then said since I was a loyal customer they would do it for $1183; I agreed and they did the job.
Then today, 3/20/24, I had Valvoline change my oil and was told the brake fluid was low and they can't top it off so I went back to Pepboys to have them take a look. They said it's not at max level but they could do a brake fluid change for me for $69.99. Then was told can't top off the fluid and they don't do brake fluid top offs or changes when they do a brake job.
Worst automotive service I've ever encountered. Brake job without brake fluid. Don't take a chance.

I brought my 2015 Impala in to Pep Boys in Bartlett, TN, for 4 tires. Also opted for the road hazard and wheel alignment. Total was just over $1,000.

They performed an inspection of the car while they had it and told me that one of my struts was hanging lower than the other and they needed to be replaced. Total for that was over $1,600. I said I'd hold off for now and think about it.

Next day I called my regular mechanic and asked for an appointment to have my struts replaced. It would be about a week, as they were quite busy, and the cost was under $1,000!

After dropping the car off, I got a call from my mechanic asking why I thought I needed struts. I explained that Pep Boys said I did. He told me his mechanic checked them out thoroughly, no leaks, no issues. No problems of any kind in the front end (tie rods, linkages, etc.)! I told him about "one hanging lower than the other" and he said he'd call right back. :10 later he calls and told me he measured personally and found no issue.

I paid him $50 for his mechanic's time and thanked him profusely! For t hat peace of mind, I saved about $1,600! Bad Pep Boys!
