1 star~DO NOT TRUST THIS LOCATION~
I had my vehicle towed to the Stockbridge location in September because my vehicle was running hot. While I had it in the shop, I decided to have some other things done, brake pads, sway bar replacement, and some other routine items. I spoke with the store manager Jeremy and was ADAMANT on not needing rotors during this conversation. I was given a quote and agreed to the work I had requested. When the vehicle was picked up, we got told "oh you had already agreed to the price, so we went ahead and placed rotors. I told them to put the old parts back on (rotors). I got told oh we already discarded them. Fast forward to a few days later, the vehicle had to be taken back in the shop because it started overheating again and the AC that I had paid 343.00 was not working. A few days later, we were told that they fixed the issue, and we picked up the vehicle. After picking up the vehicle the second time, we were told everything was good to go. the following week, I took the vehicle to have the transmission serviced (their recommendation) at a different shop. Got the vehicle back from the transmission place a few months later (had to wait on parts to be ordered). When I picked up the vehicle in December, I drove less than an hour and a half, and the car started running hot yet again. Contacted the GM, Jared Smith, got no response. Reached out again after Christmas, got no response until January after their faulty work which they certified was done and complete, caused my engine to blow a gasket and the oil/coolant to flood the engine. Contacted corporate and threatened small claims court. They have skirted taking blame. Jared Smith even stated that it was a possibility that his guys didnt recheck the thermostat the 2nd time it was brought in. Now, I am out 2100.00 for their crap work and 5800.00 for an engine that I had replaced in early 2023. Now, armed with all of the proof, I will be taking this to small claims. DO NOT TRUST THEM.Review fromMichael C

1 starThe worse customer experience I have ever had with any company ever! First, they said they had to replace my water pump. I replied I think you have done that. The manager Alyssa said not here. I said ok replace I get my truck back, check the glove compartment and there was the receipt. Replaced the water pump twice after barely 10k miles. I asked them if there is anything they could do. They said they would check and would call me back. After the 4th time asking and them not calling back I went in and asked why they weren't calling me back and Alyssa yelled at me, walked away and told me to get out of her store. It was a nightmare even though I had spent several thousand dollars with no respect. It was unbelievable. I will tell everyone I know to never go to Pep Boys, Quaker Lane, Warwick, RI.Review fromGeorge B

1 starThey installed new tires on bent rims. This was something they knew they were doing wrong and still did it. It was very dangerous to leave my car unfixed for a month. It shook while being driven and never should have happened. They put my life in danger by letting my car leave the garage in the condition it was in. Dan is scum, needs fired and a thorough investigation needs to take place.Review fromRicky W

1 starI brought my car in on 9/15/24 and it is now 2/12/2024 and I am still not able to drive my car! My car was under warranty and Pep Boys was a preferred facility so thats who I chose. Little did I know they would be so careless with my car. I actually drove the car to the shop. When they finished, they tell me my key fob no longer connects to the car. So they finish the car and now I can't drive it at all because my key doesn't work anymore. They told me I would have to get a tow to a Jaguar dealership to get it reprogrammed. BUT IT WORKED FINE WHEN I BROUGHT THE CAR IN.Review fromDean W

1 starTerrible service at this location. Customers be aware! I came in to change the tires of my car and picked it up at night after closing time. When I got home, I noticed they had damaged my step bars -they were bent. It is obvious when they lifted the car up to change the tires they did something wrong. I went the next morning to have them look at it and fix it and the manager was super rude and didn't even take the time to look at it, simply said it wasn't them. This Company does not have any protocol to help customer solve their issues, they simply don't take any responsibility for their actions. Now on top of paying for my tire installation, I have to pay to have my car fixed for the bent step bars. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! take your vehicle to another provider. After several calls to corporate and giving me a case number, no one ever reached out to me or tried to help me at all!Review fromVictor E

1 starThis is the worst experience I ever had with any mechanical servicing my car. These employees are very rude and not very knowledgeable. I brought my car for an overheating issue. They changed the radiator fans and damadged the radiator. When I called them to let them know they did not want to see my car arguing that they did not see anything wrong with this. Now the fans are failing and not working properly. I called them and again same person. I. The phone very rude no help at all. I decided to take my car to Goodyear and I will pay $500 to replace these fans. Not recommended PEPBOYS NOT RECOMMENDEDReview fromJessica M

1 starI was on a roadtrip with 2 of my daughters, and we had our alternator go out in Ogden Utah. was able to get on the pep boys website and book an appointment for 11 am the next day. I called at 9 that morning when they opened to confirm they could do the work and for an estimate on how long it would take. I was told no problem and it should be about 2 hours. We showed up with the car at 11 for our appointment and then were told they were “down a tech” so it could take more like 3 or 4 hours. I didn’t have a choice so said, that’s fine. We walked around the local shopping center and 4 hours later when I hadn’t heard anything from them I gave them a call and was told they hadn’t even looked at it yet. We walked back to the pep boys and arrived around 4, 5 HOURS after dropping it off….. they still weren’t working on it yet. I reminded them that we were not from there, had nowhere to stay or go and couldn’t understand why they hadn’t even STARTED working on it. They offered to pay for a Lyft if I just wanted to get a hotel….. so they were going to pay $20 to get us out of their waiting room while I was going to have to pay for a hotel. I said, no, I just want my car done so we can get on the road. My fear was I would leave, call in the morning and be told they still hadn’t gotten to it yet. I was told the manager said he would stay until it was done even if it was after close at 6pm. We ended up in the waiting room for 5 hours….. the car was not done until 9pm, 10 hours after dropping it off for my initial 2 hour appointment. There is NO WAY it took that long to change out the alternator, I still can’t understand why, when we were the only ones there waiting, they didn’t even START working on the car until after 7pm. No one could ever give me a clear reasonable expectation of when it would be done. I will NEVER go to another pep boys. It was absolutely ridiculous and beyond frustrating,Review fromPrasad A.

Went to replace Tire Pressure Monitoring Sensors (TPMS) due to the dashboard light being lit. First, they quoted for three sensors ($350). Then increased to four ($650) and finally they charged me for five sensors ($750). In the end, they could not program the sensors and hence the dashboard light was still on. They refused to do any further work. Afterwards, I took my car to two tire shops. They both indicated that Pep Boys never replaced one old sensor and that was the reason the car computer was not recognizing the other sensors. Finally, I had to buy four new sensors from COSTCO tire shop and they all worked. I am holding the Pep Boys sensors including the non replaced one that costed $750 in my hand. Wasted lot of money. I would like get my money back.Prasad A.

1 starI changed my five-star review to 1. I wish I could go lower as this place should be closed down. All of the employees there will lie to your face with the biggest of smiles. I came into issues with my car on December 27th. I have taken my car to them on the same day. The clerk named Kendra was working that day and decided to put down v4 instead of v6 causing a huge delay for my car parts to arrive. Every day since December 27th I had to call them. They never called me and every time I called it was a new excuse. The mechanic left, the mechanic had to go to the hospital, and THEN finally told me that Kendra messed up on the order. I said all is fine as long as I get a discount. Now mind you I picked up my car TODAY, January 23rd. They had my car for 28 days. At first, the cost was $1200. Then it was $1100, and $990 (this is a "10% discount") so I told them that I've been using nothing but lyfts because they would make up an excuse every day I had called and claiming that my car would be available every Wednesdays and Fridays. (That's why I didn't get a rental.) So I called customer service who then called Montlimar Pep Boys and told me that the District Manager(Erik) would call me. Erik did call and told me that all I had to pay for was the parts and NO LABOR FEE. Well, Kendra gave me my receipt and it says that I owe $854.12 INCLUDING a $227.99 labor fee. I told them over the phone what the DM Erik had told me and even attempted to call Erik and guess who didn't answer the phone? Also, they put my car parts( the parts covering the bottom portion of the glove department and the part below the brake and acceleration) in the trunk of my car with oil, dirt, and leaves touching my back seats. Lez also didn't do anything except give me broken promises that I would get my car within the week that I had last spoken to him. DO NOT GO TO THIS PEP BOYS!!!! Overpriced and WILL lie to you!
