The worst techs ever. Waited 4 hours for them to tell me they can't fix my truck because they can't press on a bearing. Keep in mind these bearings are almost always press fit.

Went to Pep Boys in Annandale, Virginia to replace Tire Pressure Monitoring Sensors (TPMS). Pep Boys were supposed to install these sensors and get the TPMS light in the dashboard to switch off. Initially they quoted $350 to replace four sensors. During service, they upped the number of sensors to five and charged $740. After first attempt, the light was still on. I took the car several times for problem correction. Later when I took the car to the dealer, it was found that one of the sensors is bad and indicated that I need to buy all sensors once again for a cost of $1500. I returned to Pep Boys and asked them to replace the bad sensor. They refused to fix my car anymore. I am quite dissatisfied with their service.

Old tires being sold as new to me. I think Pep Boys they lost it completely and left the brand to some uneducated managers to run the business. I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with a recent purchase I made at one of your stores. I purchased a set of tires from your establishment, believing that I was investing in new and reliable products for my vehicle.

Unfortunately, my experience has been quite disappointing. The tires I purchased did not last as expected, and when I sought a second opinion from a reputable shop, Discount Tires, they discovered that the tires I received from Pep Boys were, in fact, old tires being sold as new.

This discovery has left me feeling frustrated and betrayed as a customer. I trust that when I make a purchase, especially for essential items like tires, I am receiving a quality product that meets the standards expected from a reputable automotive retailer.

I kindly request that you investigate this matter thoroughly and take appropriate actions to rectify the situation. I believe it is essential to maintain the trust of your customers by ensuring the products you sell are accurately represented, and that incidents like this are addressed promptly.

Brought my 1993 Ford Econoline van to this Pep Boys **** * ****** **
in Flagstaff Arizona. I was having some engine trouble. It would die when idling. I waited four days before they got back to me and they told me that the first thing that they needed to do was change my spark plugs. At that point alarm bells and red flags started going off in my head because I knew it wasn't the spark plugs, I told them that they were brand new Motorcraft spark plugs I didn't even have 5000 miles on them at that point. The service advisor told me that if I didn't wanna follow their recommendations I could come pick it up and take it somewhere else. So I told him that's what I was going to do, the next day I came to pick up my vehicle and the service advisor argued with me that I should leave the vehicle and let the work be performed. I told him I didn't want to argue about it. I just wanted to pick my vehicle up and leave, but he continue to argue with me about, why I should leave it and have the work performed. I finally had to become forceful with him and tell him that I did not want to have the work performed I just wanted to take my vehicle and leave.. At that point he said he didn't like my attitude and he said that I could not wait in the lobby for the tow truck to come pick up my vehicle. I had to wait outside, it's 20° above zero outside, I'm 70 years old and he wouldn't let me wait inside the lobby for the tow truck to come get my vehicle. What a nightmare, I couldn't believe this was happening to me!! I asked to use the restroom and he wouldn't let me do that either. I give this Pep Boys in FLAGSTAFF, AZ a 0 star rating.

The people were nice. I had four new tires put on my 2005 Toyota Sienna. The next day I saw one of the hubcaps was missing. I called to see if it was in their shop, They checked and no. Apologized but thats it, I called the next day and spoke with a manager who also apologized. I told him I can get a new one on Amazon for $35. Would they reimburse me? He said he would have to get with his manager and will get back to me. No one ever called me back. After getting the new tires put on, I did not run into any bad roads or anything that would have made the hubcap come off. i think the mechanic just made a mistake and didn't put it on correctly. If he thought it was in poor condition I'm sure he would have told me. We all make mistakes. But Pep Boys didn't care about doing the right thing for their customer. I told the rest of my family about it and they couldn't believe Pep Boys wouldn't pay for the new one. I will never use Pep Boys again. At the very least, they should have called me back to let me know they will not pay for it. Never happened.

Don’t go to this place! I brought my car in due to battery drainage issues. Was told it was starter, replaced starter (800.00), had same issues a. Week later, brought back, said everything was fine, 400.00. A week later same issue, this time they had my car for 5 days. Said it was on star draining. After I suggested it might be that. Another 700.00 gone. A week later same issues. I did not bring it back. It was another fuse that was staying on replaced that 25.00, car is fixed by myself.
Pep boys is a joke when it comes to fixing vehicles. I even had issues when changing tires. Kept getting flats, which they charged me every time I brought it back for them to fix! I am SO VERY DONE!!! Would not recommend this place to my worst enemy!!!! Not to mention I wasted at least a week of time. Shortest visit was 5 hours and they weren’t that busy!!!

I went to the *** Boys in Interbay 3 times; once for my coil pack, once to diagnose and repair my radiator, and once after I went to ************************** to diagnose OBD engine code p0420 on my 2010 ***** Aveo.My coil pack replacement was hundreds of dollars overpriced. *** Boys Interbay said they had to clean out hoses, as part of the cost, and I agreed to the price as long as they would clean off my corroded battery terminal. When I went to pick up my car the battery terminal was still corroded and there was all sorts of dust around my coil pack. I had to ask again to get them to clean my battery terminal. Maybe I should have stopped going to *** Boys Interbay after my first experience, but they are really close by, so I did my radiator there. That job seemed more reasonable to me, so I don't have any complaints about it, unless they're lying to me about the head gasket, which I'll get to soon. Once again, I went to *********************** to diagnose OBD engine code p0420. They told me that my catalytic converter was the issue, but due to radiator fluid I should deal with a possible head gasket leak first, so I went back to *** Boys Interbay. After performing a dye test *** Boys Interbay told me the head gasket was fine. Here's where the story gets weird. I have two key fabs that easily open my doors, even without power, by just turning the key in the handle. *********************** gave me my car back and my lock was fine. I immediately drove to *** Boys Interbay to address the possible head gasket leak. Somehow when I was at *** Boys Interbay they smashed my key lock completely in. It had to have been done on purpose. I pointed it out and asked if they could have done this. They said "yes", and agreed to fix it. When I called back just before they closed an hour early, they hadn't even looked for the part yet. The next day, when I called, they still had not ordered the part, so I told them I'll get it fixed somewhere else and send them the bill. They agreed.

Bought 4 new tires because of buy 2 get 2 free deal. 4 weeks later 1 developed a bubble on sidewall. No doubt a manufacturer defect but Pep Boys refused to do anything about it and let me leave on a dangerous tire.Just a warning to people you should not buy tires from this company.Big mistake for me and I will never spend another penny at Pep Boys.

Horrible bunch of liars and scammers. With their ‘incompetent mechanics’, they will tell you anything necessary to get you to spend more money on things you never needed. Save your money and sanity and avoid these ripoff artists
