1 starDropped my vehicle off at 7:30am for a 9am appointment just to put tires on rims and install new rims and tires. Called around noon. Haven't touched it. I got out of work at 3:45pm. Got to pepboys at 4pm and still not done. 4:30 rolls around and i finally have my truck back. This is the second pep boys location that has jerked me around. Their customer service is horrible all around and if you have customers with appointments, they are the first ones served. Not people just randomly walking in. This is the absolute last time i will use a pep boys. The first bad time was waiting for 9 hours just to get new tires mounted and balanced while again other people just walking in were taking care of and gone. Stop lying to customers and giving crappy service. They were arguing and fighting at this last location instead of fixing customers cars. These places are a joke.Review fromRichard W

1 starOn September 27, 2023 I took my vehicle to Pep Boys in Columbus, Ga. for a check engine light being on. After the diagnostic test they informed me that my O2 sensors were going bad BUT they were not completely bad. So they reset the check engine light and told me next time it came back on bring it in and they’d take care of the 02 sensors. But once the light did come on they let me know it didn’t have to be the next but that ultimately I could make sure I had the time.
Well the light came back on and I scheduled the appointment to have the 02 sensors on. 11/09/2023 I brought the car in and they changed the O2 sensors to the sum of $992 and some change. I was told that would fix my issue and I was good to go. BEFORE I could get home the check engine light came back on. I immediately called them and told them I was bringing the car back that evening 11/09/2023. They kept the car 11/10/2023 and on 11/11/2023 they called me and informed me that piston number 3 was seized up. That they had used a solvent treatment and changed the oil and that I was able to come pick up the vehicle. Once I arrived they told me if the light came back on their treatment didn’t work and I’d need a new engine. So, your diagnostic test was wrong and you guys scammed me out of almost $1,000? Up until this time I had nothing but praise for Pep Boys in Columbus, Ga. but now that has changed. I have filed multiple reports, sent multiple emails and called customer service multiple times disputing the charges from y’all’s faulty diagnostic test but with no response. I’m now looking into an attorney to get the issues fixed.Review fromSamantha K

1 starIf I could put 0 starts I would
First of all my parts were only $300 and the labor was $500 , how is labor more than my parts?! RIDICILOUS I proceed to ask the person helping me how it’s possible and their response was they charged by hr, if thats the case how did i get my total before they started . THEN when i go to pay they tell me that they don’t have change for me so I would have to PAY A FEW DOLLARS MORE, after 10mins of arguing how it’s not fair I have to pay more cause YOU don’t have change and the employee laughing in my face , they finally walked outside and got change , before doing so I asked why we couldn’t round down instead of up , also I’ve had people agree in the passed that price was outrageous and they took some off for me when mentioned they reply with well they just wanted to help u out , OK SO LET ME TALK TO SOMEONE ELSE OR A MANAGER. Of course that wasn’t available for me , with 1,000$ total for a $300 part I can say I will NEVER be to pep boys again and I will post on my very popular social media accounts about my experience so all my friends family and fans can see and agree to never use pepboys , it’s Christmas and I’m now in debt , thank you pepboys for the worse experience of my life.Review fromPallavi S

1 starPep boys messed up my Acura MDX. I went to them in Feb'23 for break work. They changed the breakpad with a 24Months/24K miles warranty. I went again to them in July'23 and told them that I was hearing sweaky noise while pressing a break. They did the inspection and sent me home saying that they did not find any issues. I took my car to another service center yesterday and I was informed that there was no breakpad installed on the driver's rear wheel. Which caused the rotor damage as well. This body shop also advised me to take the car back to Pep boys as my warranty should still be applicable. I went to Pep Boys and they gave me a work order for $1100. It is purely a penalty that I have to bear single-handedly for their ruined job. Total disappointment in a banner like Pep Boys.Review fromPaul C

1 starI went to Pep Boys because it was not far from where my truck started overheating. I left it there overnight, and the next morning they called me to tell me I needed a new radiator and it would Cost $1082.00 total cost with labor. That is too damn high!! I had a tow truck take it to Velasquez repair, just to find out that I did not need a new Radiator at all. My clamp slipped off and all my fluid ran out. Pep Boys tried to sucker me into something I didn't need at all. The bill at Velasquez repair was only $180. So I hade them replace my brakes pads, rotors, and fluids. Total all together $600.
Do not let chain shops like Pep Boys sucker you into unnecessary work with high prices attached. I have AAA so I didn't have out of pocket towing to worry about. Truck has been running fine every since. Pep Boys , yall aught to be shames of yourselves. Never going there again. I want my $44.99 I paid yall to look at my truck you rip offs!!!! @chicago ridge,Illinois locationReview fromCheryl O

1 starI went to the Pep Boys on June 26, 2023 for a noise on the front passenger side of my vehicle when I turned, I knew it was an issue and bright it n right away. I told them I thought it was a safety issue, after the inspection of my car which cost me $35 they told me it was my wheel bearing on top of many other things they tried to sell me (over $2,000.00). I told them no I wasn't sure it was the wheel bearing but that since it was a safety issue it needed to be fixed (it was a Sunday so my mechanic was not open) so only do that which cost me (after 15% senior discount) $695.58. The next morning driving to work the sound was still there so I called my mechanic and when I brought it to him he said that it was Stabilizer Bar Control Link which cost me $112.42 a big difference in repair costs. He also told me he didn't believe my Wheel Bearing and what the noises would of been had it been that (none of which happened). I called and spoke to the Pep Boys location I went to and they told be they trusted their mechanic, so I called their headquarters they sent the information to a claims professional whom would not return my calls after 3 times so I called headquarters and then I was told by her when she finally called me that I had to deal with the store because I was looking for my money back not a refund for the money I paid the other mechanic. I called them and spoke to the store manager and they said they would call me back after I told them the story, nope no phone call back. Again I called and they told me I had to speak to the district manager so I called him twice and no phone call back. I called again and left him a message saying that I guess he was not going to return my phone call and if he chose not to I would call the Better Business Bureau that was a week ago and I have heard back from no one.Review fromkimberly w

1 starI am having nothing but issues of trying to get a hold of a manager about the concern i am having issues with the Hicksville NY Pep Boys. I brought in my car on 11/10/23 for a oil change and tire rotation. They never did a tire rotation and they informed me that my rear shocks are leaking and it would cost $950 to fix them. So i had went to another place and had them checked out and they informed me there is no leak and with only 54k miles on it that you guys were trying to scam me. Multiply people have informed me that if i only had 54k miles on it there should never be an issue with my rear shocks and never go to you guys again.Review fromPatricia E

1 starCan't give ZERO Stars, so one will have to do.
REFERENCE: WARRANTY CASE #117514
I am so dissatisfied with the Customer Service I have received regarding the above-mentioned warranty case. Pep Boys at 7469 Park Meadows Dr, Lone Tree, CO, replaced my air conditioner compressor on August 12, 2023. I paid $1264.78 for all work and parts. On September 14, 2023, the air conditioner was no longer working. I took it to my local mechanic, where I live in Idaho, and the diagnosis was that the a/c compressor was leaking at case half. So I contacted Pep Boys Customer Service on September 22, 2023, and to date, November 10, 2023, I am still trying to get CUSTOMER SERVICE. Yesterday, a check for $857.19 was delivered to my home. This check only covers parts and labor, nothing else. So I have paid Pep Boys $407.59 for a working air conditioner for 30 days. This is wrong. I am a very, very unsatisfied customer and will never use Pep Boys again. I will let everyone know that their work, warranty, and customer service are all worthless.Review fromWayne B

1 starI took a friend who was visiting from out of state to Pep Boys in Evansville, Indiana for a leaking tire , low coolant light and tune up. Five days later when we picked the car up his low coolant light came on again and he was told nothing was wrong with the tire. We took the car to another mechanic who found metal in the tire causing the leak and a leak in the radiator hose. We returned to Pep Boys and I asked Daniel if he was accustomed to letting cars leave with problems still existing. He became very defensive and accused me of "attacking" him. He asked how I knew the hose was leaking. When my friend entered the store, Daniel accused him of letting a woman do his talking, to which he replied that he also wanted to voice his displeasure about the service. Daniel told us to "get the fuck out of his store." My friend told him to curb his inappropriate language toward customers. I told Daniel in my 66 years of living he was the first man to speak to me in that manner. He then apologized for his language, but I had heard enough and walked out.
