Pepboys wheel alignment warranty is a rip off. In March 2023, I purchased a one year wheel alignment warranty from pepboys store on Milwaukee in Nile, IL. On September 19, 2023, I went to the pepboys store on 4164 north Milwaukee in Chicago for wheel alignment since my one year warranty was still active. Surprisingly, the guy at the front desk wanted a proof in the form of a receipt that showed that, I had a one year warranty on my car even though that information was in their system. I called the Niles location to confirm it which they did over the phone. After a couple of hours, they took my car in only to came back later to tell me that, I had bad front tires so the wheel alignment could not be done. I was disappointed because the tires he was referring to were purchased on August 16, 2023 and I don't think they can go THAT bad in a month's time. Clearly, they didn't want to honor the one year warranty agreement I had with them. I am very disappointed and will never go back there again for any service or refer them to anyone. Thanks

This place is horrible. They charge for services they clearly did not complet such as wheel alignment. They over inflated my new tires. When I voiced a concern the next day, the male staff brushed me off and added even more air to my tires. I went to a local shop to check tire pressure went back and explained that there is clearly a problem and was again brushed off. Now I get an oils change at my dealer and learn my car is severely out of alignment.
      Disgusting customer service.

      Gus is amazing!

So I bought a used vehicle roughly a month ago and noticed the actuators were terrible, I tried to get an appointment at competitors locations and they gave me terrible run around. I said screw it I'll go to pep boys. I did a same day appointment and man, even though they were insanely busy, they still tended to my actuators and replaced my rear brakes and rotors, that's not counting them going through EVERYTHING to make sure my vehicle was/is mechanically sound.

Yesterday I did an oil change, Gus went extra miles for me with rotating the tires amongst other stuff. He even educated me about getting a lift kit and helping me out select some tires for future reference.

He's good people along with everyone else running the shop!

WORST AUTO EXPERIENCE EVER. this review is for the 6825 annapolis road lanover MD location. should be zero stars. my car had overheated and appeared to be a coolant leak and was looking to tow somewhere. i had called to different auto shops to check availability around 3-4 pm, this pep boys location told me they would at least look at my car that same day. this was the main reason i came here. the next day comes and waited and never received an update to my car, so i called several times to inquire and was given vague answers. near the end of day, i called and was told they fixed it and was letting it run for an hour and should be ready around then (6pm or so) and would be given a call. however, i never got a call, and there phone line was dead so I could not confirm if that car was good to go.

the next day i called in the AM to ask what the status of my car and was told they had not worked on it and was waiting for my "approval" to work on it; which was a shock and disappointing given the previous conversation. from there, again never called once this entire time, i called around noon and was told my car was ready to be picked up. i picked it up, drove to work (about 20 min drive) and noticed my coolant reservoir had depleted quite noticeably. when i drove home (another 20 mins) it was almost empty. it became clear i was gushing coolant and the leaking issue was worse.

i was clearly misled and learned this location was backed up with other work and there car work skills are bad.

Had car in replace rear seal at store 1659

They have had car since Sun and now it’s friday and each time I call they come up with another excuse- bad part, new part defective, tech had leave early - have to f drop the transmission down for 3 rd time
As they apparently have no idea how do the repair as time takes do rear seal is under 10 hours— avg 7 hours— have lost all faith in them- and everytime I call they say I was just about to call you!! Bs bs— they are open from 7-7 so 5 days is 60 hours —
I just wonder how they pay their mechanic.. was told by p he doesnt get paid for defective parts- - ???? Complained to corp office twice- ??? John h ocala fla

THEY TOTALLY LIED TO ME AND RIPPED ME OFF!!!
They quoted me $700 for four new tires installed and said it'd take one hour.
After waiting over 6 hours, they finally started my vehicle.
At 6:45pm, they finished and charged me $850!
I told them how, earlier that same day they quoted me $700.
They said the tires I got didn't qualify for their 4 for the price of 3 they advertised.
So I told them I relied on their quote they gave me earlier that day I deciding to go to them.
I then told them to take off the tires and put my old tires back on.
They said they couldn't because my old tires were gone.
So I had to pay the $850 before they'd release my car.
And they refused to call the employee who quoted me the $700 and refused to call the manager.
DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY/BRANCH !!!

I purchase 4 tires and had pep boys replace and balance them. My rims were damage by the machine or mechanic (DAVE). I was told that a manager will contact me or the insurance department from Norman and Kathy. This happened on August 24, 2023 and still have not received a call. I have tried to reach out to pep boys and now it seems like their screening my calls because no one will answer the phone. I have sent my photos, estimate of the cost of rims and labor that Nissan quoted me. I would like someone to call me as soon as possible. I sent all the information to pep boys emails. If your machine or mechanic can't change tires without damaging the rims, you might need to replace either the machine or the technician. I was really nice about this matter, but now it's like I'm getting bullshitted around.

After replacing my rotors and brake pads, my car was still making a grinding sound. I took my car back to Pepboys (400 S Arizona Ave Chandler, AZ) to and explained the situation. The lady at the front desk had the same individual who replaced the brakes check why my brakes were still grinding. After checking, he admittedly stated that one of the brake pads was "too much forward" and that he adjusted. As I drove off I didn't hear any grinding but I noticed a clunking sound that I did not hear before. By this point, I did not want to take my car back to Pepboys. I ended up taking my car to Honda who did an inspection of my brakes. Turns out that Pepboys left the caliber bolts loose. They didn't forget to tighten them because they put the bolts on but barely and that was making the clunking noise. Because I noticed intentional paint damage after receiving my car from Pepboys I know this was done intentionally and Honda was kind enough to provide a video of what they found before fixing my car so I have proof. This is no joke. I feel this was done because I went back a second time but it's not my fault that the service that I paid for was not performed correctly the first time around. I will be providing this information and video to the BBB and Consumer Protection Office. I was informed that had the caliber came loose, I wouldn't have brakes. I drove to/from work in traffic the day after Pepboys serviced my car thinking everything was fine and come to find out that I had put myself and family in danger.

Moreno Valley, California Apt 1:00 O'clock August 25,2023 Drop vehicle off at 1:00 p.m. appointment time I had to call the service department around 4:25 p.m. I was told there were two other vehicles ahead of my vehicle because my vehicle had not been seen or inspected yet! I was told to break mechanic will be leaving at 5:00 p.m. so I left my vehicle overnight... When I specifically brought my vehicle in for the appointment I specifically said I just wanted a brake job nothing else! Despite all the things that were wrong with my vehicle I was told about them but all I wanted was a break job.! I probably won't be able to pick my vehicle up to around 4:25 the very next day which is Saturday I'll let you know what happens...

On 8/19/2023 I took my 98 BMW 740i to have my rotors checked and or resurfaced if it needed. Donald who was working the front counter taking the invoice never told me that certain vehicles such as my 98 BMW is not supposed to be resurfaced it would need to be replaced with new rotors and brake pads. When i took my car there it was running fine without any noises coming from my 2 front tire areas until the rotors were resurfaced. Getting less than 500 feet from the shop I turned around and took it back, because it sounded like the tires were about to come off. The mechanic who did the work on my vehicle told me that he told Donald that it wouldn't be a good idea to perform that service on that car, because your not supposed to and he still insisted him to do it. I was told by the service manager that I would have to pay for the cost of their parts, labor and that $80.00 from $88.63 that I paid for labor he would take off my bill. I feel like since I'm a female I was taken advantage of because from the start my rotors were not supposed to be resurfaced and they did it anyway to get more money out of me knowing it wasn't gonna work. I'm not the professional so I wasn't aware of the damage it would have on my vehicle. This was careless act on their behalf and shouldn't have to pay any labor cost. Never will I go back nor recommend anyone to take their vehicle.
