I have been taking my car to be service at the Pep Boys location on *** ******* ********* ** ***** in the area of Park Slope. The service at this location is HORRIBLE! For years this location has the same manager and this Individual is very unprofessional. He is very uncooperative with customers and vaguely answers any questions. He hides in the back by the mechanic area and refuses to take answer any questions from customers. Anyway, on 7/14/2023 I made an appointment to get an oil change at 8:30AM. I never received a call stating my car was ready to pick up, but I showed up at the location at around 1:30PM at which point I found out the car needed some extra work. I asked the front desk receptionist why was not called to ensure if I wanted to repair the extra work. No answer to that question. I confronted the MANAGER and he told me he will be right back and one hour later he was no where to be found after many attempt of me asking to speak to him. I requested to speak to the mechanic (Kelly) that was servicing my car and I was told the mechanic was on lunch. Long story short, never got to speak to the mechanic about the issues with my car. Around 2:30, I told the front desk receptionist to go ahead with the repair and she stated the car will be ready at 8:00AM on 8/15/2023. I called Pep Boys on 8/15/2023 at 10:00AM and I was told the car wouldn’t be ready until 12:00 noon. This establishment is a mess. The MANAGER (Duwayne) at this location, do not know how to manage this place, he doesn’t have any people skills, he does not know how to communicate or handle the problems at this location. Pep Boys need to get rid of this guy and get someone with manager skills. He has been there too long and do not have a clue of what he is doing.

**** * ******* **** ****** ** ***** this Pepboys place service is horrible. Did wheel alignment there and end up steering wheel crooked to the right. One has to be blind to do like that. I went again after 2 days to correct they refused stating tires are worn. Stay away from this business, mean people. I will never ever use pepboys again.

Took my car to the Pep Boys in Niceville to get my oil changed and tires rotated. I picked it up a few minutes ago but didn’t pay attention to the charge until I got home because I didn’t have my glasses on.
I got charged for a Fuel System Cleaner, which I didn’t authorize; it was 20% of the bill. I called and complained about being charged for something I didn’t authorize and was told it was the manager’s special. I told him I didn’t ask for the manager’s special I asked to have my oil changed and tires rotated. He said, “Well, that’s what we do.” After further voicing my displeasure, I told him I wouldn’t be back and I would be complaining to his corporate HQ. He never apologized, offered to make it right or anything. Just posting this so you would know how they operate in case you ever want to use them. I won’t be!

I went in to get 3 tires changed at the Cranberry Township, PA location. Turns out, they did not torque these on properly. One of the tires almost snapped off on Interstate 80/90 (held on by one lug nut). The shop that repaired it was able to twist off all the other lug nuts with his fingers. Filed a claim that was just denied today after a month of waiting, stating there was not sufficient evidence to put them at fault. Pep Boys did not contact the shop that repaired the damage they caused during the claim process. The area manager and their claims department snaked their way out of this. The one thing this shop does is tires, and they failed and nearly killed me. Do not go to Pep Boys.

I received a 30% off a oil change service and I received the bill I questioned them about the coupon and the salesperson said that the coupon is 30% the oil only. That’s what the coupon states it clearly says service. Then on top of that they charged me for a oil plug so the entire bill was twice as much as my regular oil change price. So then said to him If I gave you a coupon for 30% off a large pepperoni pizza but you paid for it I told you the 30% is off the pepperoni how would feel? He didn’t really answer the question. I called the customer service which took 30 minutes and they told me someone would call me back which hasn’t happened.

Pep Boys McKnight Rd Pittsburgy....horrible service.... scheduled for 10:30 Am On Line, was told when I arrived that it would be 2 hours minimim....so why should they allow me to schedule at 10:30 AM? When I got back at 12:45 I was informed that they had not even looked at the car yet....no apology or offer to get the car right in, just oops to bad. The person I was speaking to could care less. My wife and I are done with them.

Do not use pep boys service for headlight restoration unless you have them spell out complete details of the process? in writing?. I was told on the phone that it is a multi-step process. They take different sandpapers and sand off the problem areas. It will only take about a half an hour to 45 minutes. I made the appointment for July 4th because he said they should be completely dead. I get there to find out there are four appointments made for 8:30 and it'll still be 2 to 3 hour. So I dropped the car off. I go back yes the plastic looks "better " but that's not what I paid for or I was told I was paying for. All they did was wipe a cream on and wipe it off.? No sandpaper inthe kit I was told.? I could have done that? with the same $20 kit. I was paying to have them done professionally with sandpaper. I was informed when I picked up the car? and? I questioned ?the results ??and "?well that's more money and two to three hours?"?. Well I was told two to three? hours? ?that morning. So now I have just wasted $60 for a half ass job. Do not go to pep boys unless you have your services completely spelled out because they will tell you one thing?,? you get the service done and find out they only did part of it. Do not waste your money as I just did because now I have to go find somebody to do it professionally. This reminds me why I stick to my mom and pop shop for all my work. They tell you upfront? what they will do and? they don't lie.? The drivers side the rough ?area is above the headlight. Sanding would have removed the lighter area over the rest of the headlight. Now on the passenger side the heavy stripe is right in front of the light. There is absolutely no difference on this one. You can feel the roughness. Even sandpaper may not have completely removed it but I guarantee it would have been a huge improvement. What it boils down to is I was ripped off. I paid for a professional service to only get shiny headlights instead of clear. Should have looked here first.

My power steering pump went out in my 2000 Ford F250 Superduty truck. I purchased the pump & pressure hoses on Friday, June 30th. I called several places to get the parts put on, but most were busy & could not get to it on a holiday weekend. I called Pep Boys & they said they could do it on Saturday. They are affiliated with Anytime Towing & had it towed to their location on Friday evening.

When I did not hear from them by 11:30AM Saturday I called them. The Service Manager said they were ordering parts for it. I said I already had the parts & they were on the passenger side floor. He said he'd call me back, but never did. I called again at 3PM. The same guy said that he had talked to his manager & confirmed that they had agreed to install the new parts I provided, but that they normally don't service vehicles with customer supplied parts because of warranty. I said the eBay seller has a 6-month warranty & all I need is warranty on Pep Boys' work. He said it might be finished by closing time at 7PM & that it would definitely be done Sunday morning.

Again, I didn't hear anything from them by noon on Sunday. So again I called & again got the same guy. He said his technician was putting the pump on as we were speaking & that it should be done by 2:30PM. He said that they would be working a little past their normal 4:00PM closing time, & for me not to worry, that it would get done.

I got an Uber ride & arrived at 3:57PM. They were indeed closing the shop, unlike what he had told me. I asked for my truck but the Service Manager said they were needing one more part to finish it & it would now be Monday before it would be done. I told him to forget it, that they had 2 full days to do a 2 hour repair, & that I was taking my truck with me. When I climbed in the truck, they had not touched it, they had not removed the old pump & hoses, & the new parts were still in unopened boxes. They lied to me & strung me along, & had placed all new work in front me.

In the fall of 2021 South Lamar Austin store (now closed) sold me supposedly "new" tires manufactured in 2017. I've had four flats over less than 3000 miles.
