Do Not go here! After two repairs totaling $ 3,200 I took my car to another mechanic because after the second repair it started making another noise that it previously had not, the new mechanic told me pep boys left a nut loose which caused my wheel bearing and axle to tear up and when I called the manager he and said I had been informed. But I was not! I would have fixed that issue, my wheel almost fell off! I told him I thought they should make this right as it was their fault and he HUNG UP ON ME. So unprofessional and I never yelled or cursed at him I could understand him hanging up if I had been berating him but I did not. I will never use another Pep Boys again and I highly recommend nobody ever does. I also filed with the Better Business Bureau because this was a serious issue and neglect that could have caused me to wreck.

I went to the Pep Boys at *** ***** ***** ****, Absecon, NJ. Andrew R did my tire rotation and apparently doesn’t worry about cross threading lug nuts. 3 studs broke during my most recent tire change. Very disappointing

I went into get my tires balanced and when I drove on the highway after, my car drove worse than when I took it in. I brought back my car the next day to have them fix it. They took 5 hours just to tell me that their machine that balances the tires was not working correctly and the mechanic went on a parts delivery while I was waiting. When they finally got around to "fixing" everything, they broke my hub caps and glued them on. Now the shop and corporate are saying that they did nothing wrong and that the issue is something completely different.

I have been discriminated and disrespected as a WOMAN! The lil boys there like to disrespect and argue with a woman but once I put my husband on the phone the tone changed! As a corporate business you would think the customers matter but we don’t. The area director wanna talk about titles and how long he been in the business but what does that have to do with my truck not working correctly. Them lil boys over there will make you think you are delusional with how they lie and stick together! Pep Boys is the worst car company that I have experienced! Do not take your vehicle to the Jimmy Carter location! The district, regional, and area director thinks it’s common sense and normal to take your car back to the shop 3-4 times with the same problem. Rick the manager at the JCarter location was the only one working on my truck and still does not work correctly. He left off a manufactured piece but took a shortcut because it would take him too long. They told me to take it to another Pep boys and they tell me one thing and when the big bosses get involved everyone is lying. My husband and I can clearly hear the noise loud and clear. There is no point of going over the manager head because their bosses do not care about you or your safety, just about titles and numbers! Just get a lawyer! They like to argue and disrespect women! Now I have to spend more money to get my truck fixed correctly elsewhere. I asked for a full refund and they was not willing to give me one so now I have to spend extra money because of their mistake. It’s sad people can not own up to their mistakes because we all make them. We are not perfect! God knows all and sees all!

Calling Pep Boys customer service telephone number is a sad joke. First a recording indicates a 30 second or 2 minute wait time. After you wait 2-5 minutes, a recording asks if you would like to continue to hold or have a customer rep call you back. I tried the call back routine and no one returned my call.

Consequently I called back and it took 20 minutes to speak with a customer service rep. The rep couldn’t help with my battery warranty issue. My concern was referred to the Field Leadership Team.

Two days have passed and still no response from that team despite providing all of the necessary warranty information (including a copy of the May 2020 sales invoice). The invoice indicates the battery has” 48 month free replacement “ warranty.

This is not rocket science. The battery was tested at an Advance Auto store. The test indicated the battery was bad and needed to be replaced.

As one can’t travel anywhere with a dead battery, for four days I have tried in vain to get this matter resolved.

Pep Boys customer service worse than horrendous. If I were traveling out of state what I am experiencing would be a nightmare. The lack of communication ( forget about it being “ timely”) or empathy or even just abiding by the stated warranty is far from satisfactory.

Do not use PEP BOYS! Worst company ever. They are keeping me at a pep boys and holding my car ransom because the do not want to honor the 3 year wheel alignment!!! I paid for. I’m currently at Marietta Ga. 3 places not helping me and disrespecting me and my time. One pep boys in Peachtree city arguing with me and telling me they won’t work on my car. One place keeping me there for 4 hour, not even doing the alignment, riverdale ga. These are not good business practices. So stressful for an easy thing to do. They keeping my paperwork that says I have the warranty. In order to receive the 3 years of alignments you need the paperwork. They are trying to keep my paperwork and will not give me my car keys. This is Crazy! Now I’m waiting for the store manager to get here.

I had an appointment today (5/26/23) at Pep Boys in Washington PA. I was charged $53.61 for a bolt pin - x2 ($107.22). And $33 for a rubber boot. I looked up these items on Advanced Auto Part site afterward to find they are priced (roughly) as follows:
      • Disc Brake Caliper Guide Pin Boot Kit $8.49 ea.
      • Duralast Brake Caliper Bolt Guide pin $6.99 ea.

As you can see, there’s quite a difference. While I realize there is an up charge through Pep Boys auto service. I am quite surprised by the gouging that occurred today during my vehicle inspection.

      Advanced Auto Parts - 6.99 (x2) + 8.49 = $22.47
      Pep Boys, Washington - 53.61 (x2) + 32.94 = $140.16

      That's nearly a $120 difference.

I’ve always spoke highly of this Pep Boys business in the time I have been a customer, but today I learned a valuable lesson. You can buy an entire caliper for $47.99. It would’ve actually been cheaper for me to buy 2 complete calipers and take the bolts off of them and carry them with me to my inspection appointment today.

Pep Boys claimed that my brakes were chattering, and yet I have not heard any sound whatsoever while braking. There was nothing wrong with the brakes. Pads and rotors were replaced less than 20,000 miles ago (possibly 10,000 miles ago).

On a positive note, I did receive a complimentary vehicle inspection (sarcasm).

I could have used YouTube and did a better job while saving $3400 & 3 trips, my daughter being stranded on the interstate. They did tow the car but had no regard for my daughter. No rental provided despite the repeated inconveniences. Customer service was rude and unprofessional. Corporate did nothing to remedy the situation. It's been over 2 months and the car is still NOT RIGHT.

Took whole interior of vehicle apart, ignition and dash board. Said they could repair vehicle then turned around and said they couldn’t. So had it towed back home only to find out everything was taken apart. Return it how you found it smh

I went to pep boys off memorial drive to get my car serviced. They were extremely nice & helpful ,but after leaving 15 mins later my car wouldn’t start. I called them to see what could be the problem and they stated I should get my car towed back. The towing company took my car to the location off of covington hwy. I literally had to call them several times the next day to see what was going on with my car. The attitude from Clayton at the location of covington hwy was so frustrating. They told me several different things and then stated they couldn’t figure out what was wrong . The next day the specialist came to look at my car. I gave them all day to call me and nobody ever updated me ,until I drove by to see my car was still sitting at the location & they stated I needed a new engine . This location wasn’t friendly or helpful . They thought everything was funny and didn’t explain anything to me.
