      On March 12, 2023 around 9:45AM, I went to Pep Boys at 321 Hutton Lane, Virginia Beach, VA 23454, for a left rear tire repair. I showed the service manager, Sarah, the screw in the middle of the tire. Sarah was nice and professional throughout this whole situation. My car was ready at around 11:05AM and I thanked her for taking care of it so quickly. However, when I got home, I noticed that there were no signs that the tire was ever dismounted from the wheel. There was no residual tire bead lube or bead sealer. Then, I found a sticky plug was used instead of a complete rubber patch/plug combo. Those sticky plugs are for temporary use only and I could have done that myself but I wanted it repaired correctly. The tire repair plug and patch combo has been recognized by the USTMA and the TIA as the safest and correct way to repair a tire. I’m a mechanic too and know exactly what’s going on here. Sarah corrected the problem but this issue should never have happened. My invoice shows Jason H. as the mechanic. I put all blame on Jason as this person tried to save time by cutting corners, probably thinking I wouldn’t notice but Jason also put my safety at risk by doing this. Imagine how many tires Jason “fixed” incorrectly. I wonder if my tire was even rebalanced after the repair. This was my first time getting service from Pep Boys and will be my last.

      This shop will take advantage of you, BEWARE of Mike Hillard and crew.
      As a woman, I felt I was pressured into getting a whole line of diagnostics and commitments to use them to fix my car to pass an inspection. I went with my gut and walked away, another local mechanic was able to fix and charge me less than their diagnostic fee ($120 to even read a code, not even to fix anything) and have my car ready to go. Please do yourself a favor and shop local and do not allow this chain to take money away from honest, hardworking shops.

      Really bad service brought in my car yesterday for an oil change took forever and I drove it home and wake up with my light came on saying it was over filled so I took it back today after waiting 2 hours I went to see what was taking them so long and I had to go see what was taking them so long they had to drain out my oil and replace it again but they didn’t have any in stock so I took a Lyft home cause they had to order the product from a different company I didn’t get my car until 2:50pm and I got there at 10am I need a refund or something for bad service I will never be coming back here again

      Due to a deep nail puncture I purchased one new tire at the Auburn Blvd location and it ended up being higher (though correct size) than my other three tires which set-off all my panel warning lights...Anti-Lock Brakes, Tire Pressure Monitoring System, Vehicle Stability Assist System, Low Tire Pressure etc telling me to stop driving as I drove home.
      Called Honda about my panel light warnings & they checked my car to tell me the new tire was way too high and threw everything else off.
      Called Pep Boys and spoke with the office tech, who told me to come back in and they would remove the new tire and put my spare back on. I accepted. With no techs in the repair shop that afternoon I delayed it to the next morning.
      Once I showed up the same tech, then went back on his word and would not refund my money or take the new tire off (put 4 miles on it,) and the manager, would not back up his employees verbal commitment nor refund my money though they read the printout from Honda.
      ALSO...again, even with my name and phone number they could not find my current work order or any work orders for my other two cars for the past few years in their computer system and I have purchased many many tires.
      Terrible customer service! Will never go back.

      Do not go to any Pepboys. I took a car for a simple oil change. After leaving I noticed that the "Req. Maintenance' light was still on. I return and they reset it. On my drive home, I kept hearing something scraping on the passenger side. Once home I took a look underneath the car and notice that a underbody protection pieces was hanging. The clip that secures it was missing. I immediately called them, and they told me to stop by the next day. I sent my son, and told him it was fixed. After a couple of days I take a look underneath. Instead of putting back the clip, the cut the piece and told no one!!!!!! That is their level of professionalism and integrity.

      Will is a acting manager. Very unprofessional and vindictive personality with a poor customer satisfaction. He argued with me and accusing me of recording him causing me to cut ties with this brand and insulted when i did no such thing and comented towards like he knew me on a personallevel. I'm spending almost 3000$ to be treated disrespectfully. He ignored my presence in front of him while he took his time on the phone. Conflicting personality that is the opposite of his job description and will be my last business with this brand.

      I was reading seon. C. Review..SO RIGHT!! IN STOCKTON CA. I GOT ASK TO LEAVE..BECASE OF A small review I put on pep boys site..I was lied to also. Not once..twice. big time..I've been there at lest 12 years..with my 2 cars..I take..I won't be back!!! Things have changed..I'm at Firestone now..to Bad B.B.B. can't do SOMETHING ABOUT IT ... ID SAY MORE but its o.k. im out.read seon,c.. review THATS ME TOO.THANKS .

      I was belittled and treated as unintelligent by the manager on duty and his employee 2/21/2023. I bought services from here and got paperwork for it. I returned today with a booked appointment but to different workers looking down there nose at me and an offer to charge me for a service I don’t need or am asking for.

      Case #855205 Field Leadership Team response, “True we did not do an inspection when the vehicle was dropped off, but my guys said they didn’t do it so I am not repairing your rim. We have damaged rims before and this one isn’t in the same circular pattern.”
