This is in regard to an option thru Mac called "Turbo auction".
I found 3 different products I was interested in and read the details on my computer about the Turbo Auction as well as what it says in fine print under the option to bid a price.
There is nowhere on the info tab under the Turbo that says a customer will pay the full price or anything to that effect. I've attached the screen shot from the website. Also, I looked on my personal bid history and the Turbo action bids are not listed. Another reason this is absolute fraud.
Needless to say, I bid approximately $60 total for 3 items. I was notified I won them at $542.24 which I have no idea where that came from. I called Customer Service, and she said there is nothing they can do. This is by far as crooked and fraudulent as I have ever witnessed.
Please contact me in regard to this. I have included a screen shot of how a current product looks on the Turbo Auction in order for you to read the fine print under the bidding section as well as the FAQ's under the Turbo Auction and my invoice. I do not want any of these items and want a full refund. I have not picked them up as of today, but they must be picked up tomorrow. Please advise.
      Thank you Sonja

      Business Response

There are multiple response points to this complaint. First, we have no physical record of this customer trying to reach out to customer service via the email and phone number we have on file for them. Second, we are not 100% sure on what they are referencing about not paying full price? The price on our auctions is usually wherever the bidders set the price. We also make the customers aware there are auction fees as well, and we do instruct to bid accordingly. Whatever they customer is invoiced for, is the amount they bid for the item.

Turbo items fall under our "Like New' condition code policy. I will paste that policy here for reference.2.10.1 Like New - These are items that appear to be in a new condition or have never been used previously. These items are not tested for functionality or completeness -for items that are marked Like New a bidder must examine the item thoroughly when claiming (pick-up) the item. If the item does not appear new or unused or if there is an issue, the bidder MUST report this to M@C prior to leaving the premises. Once the bidder has left the premises with the item, M@C cannot issue any Refund for issues arising with the item. M@C may offer credit on future purchases for all Like New items with discovered defects, not including buyer remorse.

In auction liquidation, items are typically sold as-is and no refunds will be issued. For all intents and purposes, this auction went through the turbo process properly. The customer is more than welcome to claim their items before they go into abandonment. Thank you.

They are down right liars!  I called customer service.  She told me too bad.  Next, why dont they have a record of my bid like all the other times?  This is unbelievably disgusting.  No one and i repeat, no one would pay retail or more for something they don't know if its in operating order.  This is sick!!  This business should be shut down and i will make it know in whatever way i can.  I dont know how they sleep at night!!!! Liars!!!!

I have been purchasing items from mac.bid for over a year. I have spent thousands of dollars. The stores that send their products to mac.bid know the item is bad. On top of that, mac.bid does not check to see if the thing works. I have bought 2 refrigerators, took them home and they didn't work.
That is a big item to return. Also, I bought paint sprayers that were filled with paint. Lamps that had globes missing. I recently bought one where the cord was severed. They are very deceitful in how they advertise a product. The pictures are vague. They tell you to inspect an item before you buy. That isn't possible if you are buying an item to transfer. Plus, why should we have to inspect it? With all their fees a $1 item turns out to be $4.47. When they added the buyer's premium, many times it's cheaper, and a lot safer, to buy off of Amazon. I am also a member. I will be canceling my membership and I will rarely look at anything on mac.bid again.

I have been doing business with this company and when I buy a decent amount they block my account but they wait til im there and travel the long drive and gather all my item then turn me away. Item I needed and my kids needed. And degrade me Infront of everyone. They never have a manager or anyone tk speak to and won't give me a detailed explanation so I can't resolve whatever issue there is. They then told me to create another account and continue i did and purchase alot of merchandise and then traveled there again to pick up items and once again they canceled my account after I was there picking up my items. Its embarrassing and costly and unfair.

We can say with 100% certainty that this claim is not 100% accurate. It is true that the customer's accounts have been blocked, but they left out the reason why. The customer's original account was suspended due to multiple unpaid invoices. From there the customer used a different account under a different name. The cards that were used on this account were linked to their old account, so that account was blocked. The customer then tried to make another account, but it was caught right around the time they made it to the warehouse and it was blocked. It was very well possible the only thing this customer would have had to do was pay a reactivation fee on the original account, but they chose to try and get around that fee.

No one tries to humiliates customers. It has been noted that the customer has not been friendly to our customer service representatives over the phone. Given this information, we still are very sorry the customer feels this way. Thank you.

I bid on a 2 pack of pillows which were listed as Casper Standard size pillows. In the auction pictures, it shows 2 pillows that look to be new and wrapped in original packaging. I picked the box up today, opened the packaging and the pillows were not Casper brand. They are Piwaal brand. I believe the branding/manufacturer of the pillows were intentionally faced downward in the box. I now have two less expensive pillows and not the quality I thought I was purchasing.

They put an extra item in my order then blocked my account because I didn't return it right away while working out of town. Permanently banned because of there mistakes. Wow

      Business Response

The customer was accidentally given the wrong item by mistake. Roughly a month ago, the manager at the warehouse personally called the customer asking them to return the item. The customer could have called the manager or customer service to let us know what was going on, but they did not. The customer, instead, kept the item for roughly a month and let all of the items has won go into abandonment. When the customer finally came in to do the return, they were very rude to one of the manager's on the floor. The suspension was the result of the customer's own personal actions. Thank you.

On September 5th I won a pallet that I was bidding on with Mac discount. On September 6th I picked up the pallet at about midday and quickly unloaded it between my car and my husband's car. My husband and I unpacked the pallet that same afternoon at our home. The pallet was advertised as 75 items including a day bed valued over a $1000. The knowledge of what's in the pallet is important as it affects the amount you are willing to bid. When we got home we realized we only received the first 44 items in order of the list of 75 items advertised in the pallet. The next 31 items in order according to the list were completely missing from our pallet. It would not be a big deal to be missing a few items however this was a substantial amount of items per the list that was advertised on the Mac discount website. I called the customer service number who told me they could not do anything for me and said I could try and talk to the Boardman Mac discount. I traveled to the Boardman location Thursday morning and spoke with the manager who told me she could not do anything and she then spoke to the general manager on duty, named Nick who also refused to make any right to the situation. I wasn't even asking for a refund just some sort of compensation even a store credit for nearly half of the pallet that was missing and due to me. This was a large error on Mac discount's part and it's not right and it is fraudulent that I was advertised 30 plus more items including a day bed valued over $1000 that I did not receive and no attempt was made to make it right. It is not ethical that I as the customer have to pay the consequence for the false advertisement and the company's error.

I have uploaded photos of all 31 items missing from my purchased pallet.

      Business Response

As an auction liquidator, items and pallets are typically sold as-is with no exceptions. We make this known on both our website and our mobile phone app. Pallets are no exception to this rule. Pallets almost always fall under our "Open Box' policy. I will cite the Open Box policy for reference. 2.10.2 Open Box – Open Box items were sold by a retailer, and potentially used before being returned by the customer. Open Box items may be damaged or have an opened box with missing pieces, so unless the condition of a specific item is explicitly stated, you should not make any assumptions about it other than that it may be ripped, scratched, non-functional or otherwise damaged. All Open Box items are sold AS/IS. M@C makes all items available for inspection prior to bidding, it is the responsibility of the Buyer to inspect all items before placing a bid on the Site.

This pallet fell under the Open Box policy and the manager on site abided by that policy. Pallets are always available for inspection before a bid is placed. The manager did say that if they would have brought this to his attention before they left with the items, he could have looked into doing something for them. Once a customer leaves with a pallet of items, there really isn't much that can be done. We have no way to verify what items were either in the pallet or not in the pallet at the time of pickup once the customer leaves. We are still sorry the customer feels this way, but we always stress to our customers to read over and follow our terms and conditions. Thank you.

I would like to express my deep concern regarding the recent transaction involving a refrigerator I purchased through your platform. The item in question was clearly labeled as a Hisense fridge, with multiple distinguishing features, yet it was listed as a Summit fridge with a significantly higher value. This discrepancy has led me to believe that there might have been an intentional misrepresentation on your part.

I understand that errors can occur, particularly with challenging-to-identify items. However, when there are explicit details such as branding and visual indicators pointing to a specific product, it is disheartening to receive an entirely different item. I took the risk of purchasing a Summit fridge based on your listing, only to receive a Hisense fridge instead. This situation reflects poorly on your business practices.

I kindly request a thorough review of this matter. Whether this was an oversight or a deliberate action, I trust that you will rectify the situation and ensure that such incidents do not occur in the future. Your attention to this matter is greatly appreciated.

I purchased a bark collar from their online application. The listing showed one picture of the item in a plastic bag, condition listed as “open box.” The listing goes on to describe some features and specs related to the item. There is nothing from the listing indicating the item may be damaged in any way. When I picked up the item it was immediately obvious that the collar had been badly chewed and was no longer operational or in any way useful to a consumer. M@c Discount refused to refund the item, citing unspecified policy. I was essentially sold a piece of trash that was very clearly trash to someone viewing the item firsthand in a clear plastic bag. I have a screenshot of the picture provided on the listing and one could reasonably conclude that it’s no coincidence that the collar had place in a manner so that the damage was not evident. It’s my belief that the damage was intentionally concealed so that the item would be sold. I don’t believe that anyone would have bought the collar had the damage been obvious from the picture or noted in the description of the item. I have reason to suspect this is not an isolated incident as I’ve since spoken with other people who report similar incidents. I would at least like to be refunded for the item but I also want to draw attention to this as I believe you will find a number of consumers who have been scammed by this company.
