      Won a Stylewell Trash can Bid on MAC Discount. However item inside was BROKE. It did not look like the picture which had it wrapped in plastic and placed inside the box. It was marked Open Box but should have been marked DAMAGED on the website. Requesting refund

      First of all, the business is a complete scam. They changed their terms without notifying anyone, lied about it and then suspended my account for contacting my bank for a refund, AFTER they "abandoned" my item that I won. By winning that auction, both I and and the business were legally bound to the contract and I retained rights over the item. Yet, they refused to allow me to retrieve my item from the warehouse and re auctioned the item off.

      The first attached file is proof I won the auction and was charged. The second attachment is where the customer Service representatives lie about their terms. I had won auctions from M@C for almost two years, and every one of those auctions had a 5 day MINIMUM item retrieval limit. At some point when they added their "membership" statuses, they changed non members to only having 3 days, without sending out a notice at all.

      Bought Ashley furniture reclining couch from mac.bid Pittsburgh Mills auction site..item listed as open box. NOT DAMAGED. Pictures listed on site DID NOT show the damage and it was not disclosed in listing. Auction closed 5-2-23. Final pick up date 5-5-23. Noticed the damage while employee was carting item out. Told that all items, unless marked like new, aren't refundable. Paid total of 279.00 $225 auction prices plus tax, lot fee, and auction fee. Item was misrepresented!!!! Sold as open box NOT under the damage category.

      I made many purchases over a 4 week period and mist were “open box” and most had pics of the item though often it was just the closed box, very few of the items I received were as described wrong size wrong color, list prices were completely fabricated, not one of them were in working order or even repairable, missing parts that could not be replaced, light fixtures without the motor, flashlight missing the insides digital door lock missing the digital part, vacuum cleaner that was in several broken pieces, chainsaw that had motor gas tank broken and missing parts Queen comforter was a twin size duvet insert. Hundreds of dollars wasted on unusable items the only thing I got that wasnt damaged beyond repair were dog pee pads and a couple towels but what my main complaint is that they did not secure my payment information or sold it I do not know how that works but bank and debit card numbers were used fraudulently on the same day about 4 weeks after first signing up with macbid for enormous amounts of money, macbid is the only place I had used both cards and the only place I had used the credit card so I knew immediately that my accounts were compromised by macbid. I know they block/delete anyone who complains about anything like I would ever buy from them again. I felt I needed to warn people that you will be a victim if you give them your bank information. I reported to both my banks and since it was such a large amount of money there is a federal crime investigation as well. Macbid needs better security for banking information or better employees who wont share your information with criminals. This place is a rip off in every possible way.

      I won a bid at Mac Discount. The payment went through on most of the items late on the others. The 9thers that that were late the company put a hold on my account to where I could not have my items transferred to Monroeville Pa from Ohio. Mac discount out the account on hold due to non payment for a ice maker, locked me out of my account charged me for the otems late fee included. I paid for the insurance and a monthly members fee to have my items transferred for free so there wouldn't be any delays. I emailed the company 4/24/23 asking for my belongings or a refund they did not respond. I called today to be told I can have a refund for two 9f the three items and not the late fee. I asked for a full refund and Marissa said she could have a Manger call me back and ahe could only provide me for what the item was bidded for. I'd like the products that I paid and waited to obtain 1. The Harry Styles Record 2. Size 9 women's white cross 3 vinyl record player.

      Our response to this one is going to be multi pronged. First, we have no record of an email from this customer via the email we have on file for them. We only have a couple of phone calls in our phone logs. The most recent phone call was tagged a spick up and delivery. 

      Second, we were able to issue refunds for the items listed in the complaint. The items were no longer available for pick up. When an invoice goes unpaid in our system after 3 business days, the customer's account does go into suspension. Every customers is notified of this via our mobile app and the emails we send out. Invoice ******** was the invoice that went unpaid for more than 3 business days. The customer was able to pay a $25 reinstatement fee to reactivate her account, but did not get that paid until 4/25. These items in question had gone abandoned in that time frame. We are not able to pull items once they are in abandonment, but, as stated previously, we were able to issue refunds for the items in question.

      We do apologize for any inconvenience in this case. We do wish the customer the best on their future endeavors. Thank you.

      I will address this customer's concerns in this manner. It is to my understanding that this customer called in concerning the "Buyer's Premium" fee we charge on each auction. The premium fee is equivalent to what is called an "Auctioneer's Hammer Fee" in a live auction. We charge this fee across the board. Everyone, including employees, pays this fee. It is listed in our terms and conditions and I will cite the policy point for reference.

      2.11. Buyer’s Premium - M@C may, in its discretion, charge a buyer’s premium, lot fee or other service charge on items sold (including any applicable sales or value added tax or similar taxes in the relevant jurisdiction at the current rate). All such charges will be indicated on the specific auction terms and conditions. If charged, the buyer’s premium shall be collected directly from each successful User, in addition to the lot fees, sales tax and purchase price as bid.

      The fees are also listed on each auction page as well in the tabs of the auction. 

      Per my investigation, the customer was never told his card would not be charged. The customer was told about the Buyer's Premium fee and that it is applied to everyone. The customer was also never told that the card on file would not be charged. They were told told that items are sold as-is and each customer is responsible for their own bid and item pick up. 

      We are still very sorry the customer feels this way. We encourage all of our new users to read our terms and conditions before a bid is placed. Auction liquidation can be a great thing if one follows our terms and conditions. Thank you.

      This joint needs shut down. Microwave, like new, except it doesn't work. Tv stand, no hardware and broken pieces, cat tree a simple cat tree again, no hardware. Prices are incredibly inaccurate. Shady looking workers. Shady business. Negative stars, do not recommend

      April 9th 2023. I paid 646 dollars for items that weren’t listed as damaged but were visibly broken. I left a review and they shut down my account and refused for me to get my items but took my money. I reached out to customer service as well as management and neither helped. I believe this business is truly a scam and needs to be shut down. They are very rude and are contacting me based on my review.
