Before an incident last week this would have been without a doubt a five star review. I understand the premise of their business. I have got some great deals I have got some junk. It was my fault for not taking the time to go in and look at the item beforehand. With that, I spent just shy of $2,000 with this company this year. I had a horrid experience with one of their employees at the Butler location. To say I was upset would be an understatement. He was rude beyond belief. I know of other people that have quit going to this location because of this same employee. With that, I try to not be to judgmental as I know good help is hard to find. Not to mention he may have been having a bad day etc. With that, I called twice and asked for a manager. I left my contact information twice. I was assured both times that a manager would call back as soon as they could. I didn't expect any favors but as a loyal customer that spent a rather large sum with the business in the course of the year I thought I was owed at least a return call. The employee threatened to suspend my account that the manager would "have his back." Since I haven't even got a return phone call I went ahead and deleted my account. Its unfortunate to support a business and then be treated to poorly by one person it gives the entire company a bad image. But when a manager won't call back to discuss not much left to do. For those of you that leave bad reviews about items you get- learn the process. Be fair, leave fair reviews, they have it posted all over the place to go and look at items.M@C Discount

After the manager reviewed the incident at hand, by asking multiple witnesses and checking cameras, it was determined our checkout person acted in a professional manner. It was noticed by the checkout person that the customer was peeling labels off of boxes to have them scanned out. That is against company policy. We ask customers to leave labels on boxes at the time of checkout to help us make sure the customer is getting the correct item. Per the review of the situation, it was determined that the customer was behaving in an unpleasant manner. We do understand everyone has bad days, but we also believe in treating every person with respect and dignity. We are sorry that the customer feels this way, but the employee was just following policy in a professional manner. Thank you.Review fromDavid L.

Tried this site and won my first auction. I knew it was missing a piece- but the item doesnt work. I understand the T&C but why would anyone spend money on an item that might not work? AND is not returnable? that was my first and last purchase. i Wish I would have did my research and read the reviews. BEWARE PEOPLE!M@C Discount

M@C Discount is an auction liquidator that runs auctions that have been returned to big box retailers for any reason. We run these auctions to try and bring a second life to items. As the customer eluded to in their review, the item was listed as missing pieces. The item in question was also listed as an "Open Box" item. I will paste the "Open Box" condition code for reference:2.10.2 Open Box Open Box items were sold by a retailer, and potentially used before being returned by the customer. Open Box items may be damaged or have an opened box with missing pieces, so unless the condition of a specific item is explicitly stated, User should not make any assumptions about it other than that it may be ripped, scratched, non-functional or otherwise damaged. All Open Box items are sold AS/IS. M@C makes all items available for inspection prior to bidding, it is the responsibility of the User to inspect all items before placing a bid on the Site. The terms and conditions can be easily referenced at https://www.mac.bid/conditions-of-sale.This customer also failed to mention that they could have come in and thoroughly inspected the item before they placed their bid. They also could have looked into adding the ***************** to the item. I will paste the ***************** policy for reference as well:2.16. ****************** A User may elect to purchase **************** for any individual item in the auction. This purchase is elected at the time the bid is placed in the auction. The cost varies based on the product characteristics. The **************** product allows the User to return the Item, for which the product was purchased, within 5 Business Days following the date the Item was picked up. This return is treated as a **************** return, and a reason is not required to process the refund. The **************** fee will not be refunded.When customers register to ***********, they are agreeing to those terms and conditions. Even in agreeing to those terms and conditions, this customer was also able to bring the item into any location for a Manager Review. In cases like these a manager would have reviewed the item in question, checked for congruency to the listing, and then made a decision on whether or not a refund would have been warranted.If the customer had any questions at all, they could have reached out to our customer service department between ******** Monday through Friday. Coming on sites like these rarely results in a positive outcome. This company is a scam. I purchased an open box item. Reading 2.5 of there fraudulent terms and conditions I understand what open box means. However, the business didnt list the condition of the contents. Then they told me about a buyers assurance program that costs even more money to be able to inspect the item. The item was listed open box, therefore it still should be usable or easy to replace missing part. This item was damaged and unable to be used. The second item (bid at the same time) I retracted from and will not pay for it because I feel, given my first experience and that of others it will be missing or damaged. Customers, beware of what you do with this business. They easily prey on the consumer and bully you and make empty threats to force you into continue your purchase. Read the fine print and be aware of scams. If you go to the warehouse, prepare for rude nasty people and a disaster of a warehouse. Looks like an episode of hoarders took place there. Bottom line is, you want cheap prices for usable items go to **** or another auction site. If you want items for parts, go here. If you need to waste time and want to force this business to close, report a complaint against their license. Be cautious, be aware, dont use.M@C Discount

Customers can save anywhere up to 80% off of regular retail price. We do this to try and help lower costs for consumers and to try and keep items out of landfills. We believe it safe to say we are not trying to prey on any of our customers. Our warehouses extremely clean and efficiently. They have to with the amount of items we turn over each business day. Customers can always check for themselves if they would like to inspect an item before they place their bid. Im surprised at the negative reviews. Yes. I have gotten mislabeled products or damaged products. But, never have I had a problem returning them. Whenever I have asked for assistance, their workers drop everything and assist me. I am 67 and sometimes I ask for assistance out to my car and they are so polite and put everything into the car for me. Their terms and conditions are clearly stated. I dont have the time to drive to locations to inspect, so with the savings I have made, if a few items arent what I expected, thats my fault. And if I cant pick ** in time and abandoned, then thats my fault also. Ive saved thousands of dollars bidding on Mac discounts and recommend them to everyone. My Christmas shopping and home improvements are complete.M@C Discount

We are an auction liquidator, so we auction off items that have returned to big box retailers for any reason. With that being said, we always encourage our customers to read over our terms and conditions before they place their bids. Customers can either inspect many items before bidding, or they can place the ***************** on many of our items as well. The assurance guarantees a refund 5 business days from the date of pickup. It is true customers can save up to 80% off of regular retail price when shopping with us! I shouldnt be surprised at the number f bad reviews. No one usually comes to the BBB to praise a business. I only recently got into buying off M@C but Ive had birthing but good experiences. Ive inspected items. Had workers help me find items and help me test them by getting an extension cord to plug it in. I can see how some might bud without inspecting and Im sure to get some bad apples but if you follow the rules, you can get some great things for a big discount.M@C Discount

We absolutely encourage inspecting many of our items before one places a bid. If one is not able to do so, we do offer the ***************** on many of our items as well. The assurance has to be added while the auction is live, but it ensures a refund five business days from the date of pick up. Very good customer service so far I’ve ordered 7 things and had a membership but I tried transferring something from Pittsburg to Butler to only make one trip cause I’m 45 from Pittsburgh and 1 hr 10 from butler and the item I had at butler was untransferable I transferred it to butler and got an email saying it arrived but when I got there my one wasn't there and ready but they ended up giving me 25 mac bucks for the inconvenienceM@C Discount

My experience with M@c Discount is a -10. I have received 4 items and they are nothing but junk. Every item I ordered looked like they came out of the Dumpster. I was not permitted to inspect the products when I picked them up. The pictures and descriptions do not look anything like the real product. M@c Discount should be ashamed to conduct a business in this manner.M@C Discount

Products are not described properly. Damage to product is almost always present. They want you to check to conduction before bidding, but include a condition that is normally always incorrect. Most product is either missing pieces, broken, or not the same product as shown in the listing. In my opinion, if you bid on something that is listed as like new, you should not have to worry about damage. From my experience, this company has went downhill once it got popular. Low hiring wages and poor customer service has taken its toll on its overall operations. It is only a matter of time until a lawsuit or other legal action is taken. This has turned into one of the largest scams in the area. I have had my credit card company get my money back multiple times due to incorrect listings and damage. Do not waste your money or time. Buy new at a reputable company with quality systems in place and proper customer service/management.M@C Discount
