1 starhave had Amerigas propane for my home delivery, for many years. I have never experienced such poor customer service from this or another business. I ordered my delivery of propane ,this time, I waited several weeks. During this time I called them several times during which they scheduled numerous appointments. They never came nor called to reschedule or say why they weren't coming. Finally they brought the propane. I was home but they did not attempt to let me know they were here by any means, no call no knock no honk. So they said I eas not home so they placed a lock on my tank. I called asap upon finding what had happened. I again called numerous times with appointments set with no show. It has now been a month and they have filled their agreement I am a senior and desperately need this service. I highly recommend anyone looking for this service to stay gar away from Amerigas!Review fromBob U

1 starGo somewhere else. Have to call several times for delivery. Don't show up when they say even after several calls. Customer service seems to be out of the country. No supervisors are ever available.
No customer service!
Things were different when they had local offices. But to save money they have been closed and service is terrible.
One star is too high of a rating for this business.Review fromKen F

1 starTerrible Company Service!! They intentionally put a robot between you and their Company. You can’t talk to a local representative. You talk to a robot! What is Amerigas thinking. I want to get to the CEO of this Company and wring his neck! For years I could call the local rep and she would cheerfully talk with you. They would come to my cabin every summer to fill the tank and send me the bill to my home. Now it seems they have no concept of a vacation home and the special trust formed with service providers. Amerigas, get your act together! You have entirely missed the mark!Review fromEuell M

1 starThis company has went down hill . We’ve used them for over 25 yrs, now we can’t get repairs done , our full tank blew a valve and we had call fire department . Amerigas came and locked us out and has never came back and it’s been 6 wks . Just telemarketers on phones and emails they said they have no technicians to fix this . This is just awful no stove to cook its so frustrating . E. M.ps they don’t deserve even one starReview fromPatricio A V

1 starFor the past few weeks, starting in September’s 3rd week, we spend our mornings on the phone talking with “customer advocates” from Amerigas a company with this address:
460 North Gulph Road, Suite 100
King Of Prussia, PA 19406-2815, United States
It took several calls, over several weeks, before we could open an account that they could find in their systems. Apparently the account we open yesterday was not there today.
The company received payment on 10/02/2022 for $616.82. On Oct 10 we were finally able to get a request for a service call to unlock the gas I have already paid.
Their service department will let me know when they can unlock my gas. There is no way to contact the service department to get a date or confirmation.
This kafkaesque drama that Amerigas is subjecting us, seems, as Kafka’s stories, to have no resolution, but to be a never ending nightmare.
We are at their mercy; they should pick a more appropriate name like Stalingas.
I can only hope to find an alternative to their services.Review fromMegan M

1 starI’m on auto delivery. When I update my tank level, Amerigas goes in and changes it so I don’t get delivered to... why?!?! It’s been 4 days without hot water!! Emergency delivery has been called twice now. I don’t understand why you even bother having a monopoly of service in this area and then refuse to deliver!! Who ever is running this company needs to step down and let a moral person take over. What do I have to do to get service? The only person you can get ahold of is people overseas. They have standard answers like “all managers are in a meeting” or they pretend that they cannot hear you. If you have the option or choice to avoid this company DO IT at all costs. I have been without hot water for DAYS at least 3 times this year. Auto delivery is a joke! When I update my tank level, someone goes in and changes it to avoid delivering, how is that even legal? If you’re going to make it so I cannot go anywhere else, how are you allowed to refuse to deliver? I’ve had bad utility services before, but this one tops the list.
Sincerely,
Still taking cold showersReview fromAndrew B

1 starI purchased a home in Umatilla Fl. in late August. Not knowing anything about the propane tanks, I requested a safety inspection. (Two 120 gallon propane tanks) The Tech arrived, inspected the equipment and took one of the 120 gallon tanks that at the time was 80%. He said it needed to be replaced. The second tank on my property was reading 30%. When the tech left, he left me with no tanks hooked up to my home.
I called continuously for three weeks trying to get my tank hooked up to my emergency generator. As Hurricane Ian rapidly approached, I was calling everyday trying to get an emergency hook up. I even had two or three operators, who answered the phone, just hang up on me. On September 27th, a tanker showed up at my home to fill my tank. I asked the tech if he could hook it up, and he said he could not, but he filled it anyway. The day Hurricane Ian was to hit, I had an Amerigas employee tell me no one was coming. I lost power during the hurricane and everything in my freezer went bad.
Amerigas had scheduled a delivery of the second tank back to my property for the 4th October between 12 noon and 5pm. After numerous notifications from Amerigas, telling me they would be here, the tech was no show. On Oct 11th I received yet another bill, this time for $303.29. I have no idea what this one is for. No one has been to my property and I still do not have propane service. I no longer have any faith in Amerigas to provide me quality on time service.
Because of Amerigas’s disappointing performance, I no longer want Amerigas service and have terminated my account and asked that they remove the last tank from my property. I also demand that I be refunded for the 80% fuel that was in the 120 gallon tank that was taken, also for the 30% that was in the other. I will not pay Amerigas for any services or fuel that has been delivered to my home, due the fact that it has never been hooked up to my home and the due to the inconveniences Amerigas has caused me.Review fromVicki A

1 starI couldn't contact the business office directly to answer my questions. It sounds like calls are being outsourced; out of the country to a call center; maybe India. Twice I called to see if I could bring my propane grill tank to AmeriGas business office to be filled. Both times the Call Center Reps., asked me if I had an account?,.."I said I have never contacted them before". They then asked if I wanted to set up and account,.."no".... where do you want a tank delivered too? they asked. " I have my own tank in my car!!" Do you want to pay your bill? they replied?..."I am now irritated.". Multiple times I had to repeat myself and ask them to listen to me!!!! "I do not have an account. I have never been there before! I want to see if I can get my tank filled at the office!" I then asked to speak to a manager. I was told there was no one available. Frustrated, I Googled and located another propane company. A man in the Griffis Gas Company office, answered the call in a friendly professional manor. He answered my questions on the phone and provided me their address. When I arrived, I was greeted by the same man that took my call. He was helpful from beginning to the end. Don't use AmeriGas. If you have a problem they won't have anyone knowledgeable to send you to for help, unless its related to delivery or billing.Review fromJerry E

1 starI had 100 gal of propane stole from me by the amerigas driver. I was sick the day he came but I talked to him from my window. I BUY GAS ONCE A YR FOR 2 TANKS. 1 IS 150 GAL AND A 330 GAL. THIS YR MY 150 GALHAD 50 PERCENT AND THE 330 GAL HD 40 percent. I ORDERED 160 Gal. Of gas. THE DRIVER CALLED ME FIRST AND I MADE IT TO THE WINDOW AND TOLD HIM TO FILL THE 150 GAL. FIRST AND PUT THE REST IN MY 330 GAL WHICH WOULD BE FULL OR CLOSE TO IT. HE ASK ME IF I WANTED 1 TICKET OR 2 TICKETS. I TOLD HIM HE COULD PUT IT ON 1 TICKET WHICH WAS A BIG MISTAKE. HE CALLED ME WHEN HE WAS LEAVING AND TOLD ME I NEED TO CALL THE GAS CO. AND ORDER 100 OR SO GALS BECAUSE I HAD 40 PERCENT IN MY TANK. I HAD THE 40 PERCENT WHEN HE COME HERE AND HE STOLE THE 100 PLUS GALS OF GAS THAT WAS TO GO IN MY TANK. HE SAID I HAD 5 PERCENT AND THAT'S A LIE BECAUSE I CK MY TANKS SO OFTEN. IM A 78 YR OLD MAN ON S.S. AND THIS SORT OF DISHONESTY HURTS ALOT. THE 40 PERCENT IN MY BIG TANK WAS THE PERFECT AMT FOR HIM TO TELL ME I HAD 5 PERCENT AND THE BALANCE OF GAS LEFT FROM FILLING MY 150 GAL PUT MY 330 GAL TANK TO THE 40 PERCENT WHICH I ALREADY HAD WHEN HE COME HERE. SOMEONE PLEASE LISTEN TO MY MESSAGE. I COULDN'T GO OUTSIDE AND WATCH THE MAN AND THIS IS WHAT I GET. IT'S SAD SOMEONE WOULD SCAM AN OLD PERSON WHO'S ON S.S.
THIS DRIVER SHOULDN'T BE WORKING IN A SITUATION WHERE HE CAN SCAM PEOPLE. PLEASE GIVE THIS TO AMERIGAS. I DON'T THINK THEY CARE AS LONG AS THEY ARE SELLING GAS. ONE PERSON HAS ALREADY HUNG UP ON ME EARLIER. I WAS TRYING TO EXPLAIN MY ISSUE AND THE DRIVER TOLD HIM I HAD ONLY 1 TICKET AND I DID BUT IT WAS FOR 2 TANKS AND THE COMPANY DIDN'T WANT TO HEAR WHAT I HAD TO SAY.
PEOPLE LISTEN UP,,,TIMES ARE HARD AND PEOPLE WILL DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO SURVIVE.. WE ARE TALKING ABOUT 300 DOLLARS HE TOOK FROM ME BECAUSE I WAS DOWN AND COULDN'T HELP MYSELF. WATCH OUT EVIL IS EVERYWHERE AND SCAMMERS ARE OUT TO GET YOU. !!!!!!!!!!! BE CAREFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!Review fromMelanie B

1 starAmerigas has not only left my family without heat in Vermont but also installed our propane in a manner than has put my family in danger. It's impossible to get ahold of anyone local and even with very polite daily phone calls I have gotten no response to get our system fixed to be safe. Now we are stuck with Amerigas for at least a year because they will charge us a huge fee to remove the tanks if we cancel before 12 months is over. They are negligent and have exceptionally bad customer service.
