Predatory company. They force charges on you even if you are not under any contract with them. They think they can trespass on your land and take your propane without refund, then charge you to remove the tank even though there is no contract authorizing this. They are predators and nobody should use them. If you move into a house around Keene, NH and have an Amerigas or KeeneGas tank on your property, send them a certified letter of notice that they have 30 days to remove it, or else face a $1.00 a day storage fee. Only way to deal with a predatory company is with the strictest form of contract law. Stay away. Research other companies in the area that have better ratings, but Amerigas is out to get you.

At one point I was on autofill and Amerigas let the tank run out...twice. Had to start monitoring it myself and requesting delivery via their website. WEEKS went by with "delivery scheduled" and after multiple contacts and the one tank at 10% they realized they never had actually processed my request even though their website assured me I had a "delivery scheduled"?(I do not even know how that is possible unless their computer systems are in separate galaxies.)
They sent me a reminder notice that it was time to renew my pre-buy contract 3 months after it expired, so even though I had over $1300 left in pre-buy it will now be at $3.80/gal versus the $3.11/gal of original pre-buy. Not a user/customer friendly company.
Last delivery the driver came out and filled the two tanks one day and then they sent the same driver back the next day(tanks already full) and then the same driver was sent out the next day(tanks already full).
I have worked Civil Service, served in the Navy, worked for Airlines and an Insurance company.... yet, the marginal customer service and inefficiency of Amerigas makes all of my former employers appear to be 5-star operations.

I've been a customer for 3 years. I had to move twice in that time frame. Instead of moving my account over o was made to open new accounts everytime I've moved causing me to have to pay more money to set up "new service". This company is a complete joke. If you have other options besides these clowns take it

This company has NO customer service. When you call on the phone, everyone is so pleasant but can do nothing to resolve your issue. I, like several others here, canceled my account with them in February and was told (in writing) that they would pick up the tank and give me credit for that gas. It is August 1, and that has not been done, and I am receiving collection letters. I write letters, send e-mails, make phone calls - nothing works, so I will register my complaint publicly.

Amerigas is horrible. When we purchased our house 18 years ago there was a 500 gallon tank buried in our backyard. We were forced into using it with Amerigas. If we don't want it sure they can come dig it up and destroy our backyard in the process. Not to mention the problems I've heard with having them remove it. The icing on the cake is that they charge ridiculous rental fees. I am being charged a $285 rental fee for the year. They said in order to avoid the fee I had to buy 1,000 gallons in one year. That is absurd. We spent $1,000 on one fill up that was under 300 gallons. I would have to fill up four times which would roughly cost $4,000. We are both teachers and that is not feasible. Plus we don't even use that much propane so we can't fill up that much. I got the run around from three separate employees when I called to talk about this. I am currently on hold for a fourth employee and I've been waiting for 30 minutes so far. I will be calling around to find out about switching to another company. They are really trying to screw Americans. As if we aren't already struggling with gas and grocery prices and about to go into a recession. Come on Amerigas. This is disgusting.

I use propane for my stove only. I won't go into the gory details but I've been constantly over charged and ignored by this company. It truly seems to be run by crooks. Crooks who charge late fees if you don't pay over and over again. Please BBB do something about this company. I've never dealt with an utility company with negative customer service. Do I need to get a lawyer?

What a horrible company. After asking to have my tank removed for 4 months they waited until my "tank rental" came due. 10 days later, on 04/14/2022 they picked up the tank and charged me $113.71 for tank rental from 04/01/2022 - 03/31/2023 on top of the $149.99 to pick up their tank.

Amerigas is the worst of the worst companies. They do not deserve a 1. I had a billing issue and I called them 5 times to get some answers. They would say someone would either email me or call me. I never got an email or phone call and no answers to my billing question. The customer service representatives just seem to give you the run around and never do what they say they will to try to help you. I have been with Amerigas a long time and this is no way to treat people.

Amerigas bought out our local gas company last year. Our local company always came out on a set schedule without me having to call to fill my tank. I made the asumption that would still happen when Amerigas took over. My tank was never filled and when I called because I was out of gas for my kitchen stove, I was told 2 weeks to get service. Long story short, after arguing with customer service, I decided to switch companies. I told Amerigas to come get their tank - which they picked up in December of last year. Today, 7/28/22, I received a bill from Amerigas for $149.99. I called to dispute this bill. I was told when Amerigas took over my local company, I was under the terms and conditions of Amerigas contract. I explained, I never received service, and I never signed or saw any new service contract. I only had the tank picked up. Long story short again: even though I never received anything from Amerigas - no service - only tank pick up, I have to pay $149.99. 7 months after having them pick up the tank, because they never serviced the tank - I have to pay $149.99. It is not fair, that I was under 'terms and conditions' with a company I never personally contracted with. And they should have no right to charge me for picking up equipment, I never rented from them, and they never serviced.

I ordered one hundred (100) gallons of propane In March 2022, to be delivered to my home in Grand Junction, MI but instead, the driver put a lock on my propane tank. I have contacted the Amerigas offices in Hartford, Michigan on multiple occasions and as well as the corporate office in King of Prussia, PA on numerous occasions asking for assistance and help in getting an appointment for a technician to remove the lock.
I'm continuously assured by an Amerigas representative that someone will return my call but I have yet to receive a phone call. I will ultimately cancel my contract with Amerigas and have the tank removed but Winter is coming and I have to maintain a level of propane to heat my home to circumvent frozen pipes.
I really don't understand how this company is still in business. Their incompetence level is beyond anything I've experienced.
