1 starThis business engages in outright lies to customers and predatory charges. Be aware. Good luck trying to get gas delivered. God forbid you have a gas leak and call their "emergency number". I did and was immediately put on hold for 15 minute before anyone answered. I took over the service when I purchased a home from the owner. They have a foreign call center. You cannot reach a local person even though they will list location numbers and locations. The call center foreign **** have downright lied to me several times and been caught in the act. No one will deliver your propane when scheduled. They will send you a text for a date, they require you be at the residence, you wait all day with no call, no show, no follow up. They try to bill you for all kinds of unilateral fees you did not authorize. Stay away!!! Wish I had looked at reviews and their F rating before I had the tank refilled. These people are CROOKS and they simply do not care about the customer. This is INFLAMABLE ********************** GAS were are dealing with. 1 starCharged me a poison pill bill of $150.00 when I sold the home, citing a "terms and conditions" clause whereby they charge $150.00 if you cancel the service before three years. I have never heard of ANY utility charging an exit fee upon cancelling service. I autopaid every month, on time. Cancelled my service over the phone, no exit fee was mentioned. Just an automated email that my autopay was still on and had been charged. Turned off my autopay and removed my checking account, and called them to complain. The only option they offered was to turn the account back on to credit my account back after I stated I would be filing a complaint with the BBB. No trust in having my account be turned back on with this predatory company. Additionally, when I was using this service, they auto-delivered me propane every week, even though I only needed my tank filled about every 2 months, just so they could charge me delivery fees. I had to contact customer service many times to get them to stop delivering un-needed propane. Predatory company. Don't use them.Review fromSHERRY S

1 starIf I could leave a 0 if I could. The customer service is the worst possible. I called multiple times and only got people who spoke NO english. Told nobody is stateside to talk to me when requested. Everything about this company is unacceptable. Trying to get my tank picked up was terrible and then the bill!! No show for pick up on day we were told- have voice mail to confirm. Also charged $358.19 for a one minute visit from a *** telling me my tank was up to code. Unacceptable in everyway possible. 1 starI had moved into a property in 2023 where the previous owner (deceased) had used Amerigas. I had opened an account with them thinking that was who was the correct vendor. I never ordered propane and when the time came to order it, I noticed that the tank was serviced by ******, so have used them since 2023. Amerigas has billed me for tank rental and some other unsubstantiated 300 charge. They sent someone to repo the tank (which was not here) and are claiming since there was at one time a tank here (may or may not be true) I owe for the tank rental and now the whole tank. Their rationale was that because I opened an account, it proved that the tank was here. The customer service person I called stated there was no manager that I could speak with and If I decided to not pay it, that was my choice. He was completely obtuse and would not listen to common sense and was defensive and antagonistic from the start. Obviously I'm not paying this bill and they can send me to collections. I have never had a tank from them or ordered propane for them. They are a bunch of shysters.Review fromMaura J

I would recommend a negative star review, but 1 is the lowest I can go. I have been trying to close my account with AmeriGas for over a month now and all of my queries about the cost of the thank have been ignored. Because I no longer need propane and my tank is underground, the best course of action is to leave the tank and have me purchase it; however, I have been told I am being charged $4500. When initially contacted on 22 May 2025, the customer service rep told me that I am being charged the price of new tank from when it was installed in 1999. She said she was told this because they could remove it and resell it as new (it is nickel plated). I was then contacted by another customer service rep that after taking into consideration the age, location, size, and condition of the tank, $4500 is the best price possible. I have also found posts on Facebook that say others in my local area bought the same size underground tank from AmeriGas for $1500. The customer service rep could not explain how the $4500 price was determined, nor could he explain how others were charged so much less. I have tried numerous times to contact the company and have not received any answers.Review fromEric S

1 starIf you love prices that are double a local supplier, customer "service" by non-English speakers in ***** and draconian contract terms, this is your company! I inherited them when I bought a house two years ago and should have done due diligence. My bad. After I started paying attention and discovered their prices were DOUBLE a local supplier, I called to cancel. There is a $150 cancellation fee and they wanted to charge me $568 for tank pick up. I pointed out that paragraph 6 in my contract species $149.95 for tank pickup. Savantri in ******** directed me to paragraph 13 that states they can change any of the contract terms any time they want with no notice. 1 starFirst and foremost, if I could leave a rating less than one star I would.We were Amerigas customers approximately two years ago. We decided to switch companies due to the cost of their propane.I called the customer service number to have the account closed and to have someone to schedule to pick up their tank.Needless to say, no one has collected the tank after all this time. I have called several times ********, today I decided to call again. I spoke with a ***, who informed me that the account was not closed but still active. I informed her that I called 2 years ago to close the account and for someone to pick up the tank. I have made numerous other calls requesting for the tank to be picked up but to no avail.She stated she was transferring me to a customer specialist. I was on hold for almost 20 minutes. I hung up and dialed again. This time getting another individual(Zeal) who tells me the account is not closed and that I would have to pay to have the tank picked up!I told him absolutely not. They need to pay me for storage for the past 2+ years and that I wanted to speak to a supervisor.He placed me on hold and supposedly transferred me to a supervisor named ******. When I inquired if he was a supervisor he hesitated and sheepishly said yes(I didnt believe him).He reiterate the same line that Zeal stated that I would have to pay for pick up. I told him absolutely not and that I wanted to speak to his supervisor. He states there was no one else I can speak ***** here I am, writing a review about Amerigas. This company should be ashamed of themselves expecting the consumer to pay for them to pick up their tank! How ludicrous is that! I want the monstrosity gone and I am not paying! 1 starGas leak - strong gas smell in house all of a sudden. Called Amerigas emergency and they did send out someone (3 hours later after I had to make a 2nd call). At this point it was after 11:00 pm. Technician locked off propane tank so we could go back in house but didnt have the correct equipment to find the leak. Said company would send someone next day. When I didnt hear from company in the morning, I called. Got shuffled thru India call center. Assured me that someone was coming out today. By 3:00 I had to call again - same India call center tried to give me an appointment in 4 days! I insisted on speaking with a supervisor. No appointment was ever booked for today (so first ****** I spoke with in the morning just out and out lied to me). Supervisor said she would contact my district and get back to me. An hour later and Im still waiting with very little hope that anyone will actually call me back. This is beyond bad customer service and actually dangerous as we have an unidentified gas leak.Review fromSharon W

1 starThis company charges fees that are unnecessary and bogus. I closed business w with them and was charged exorbitant fees for removal of tanks I had 4 two at house and two at garage with an apt $299 pick up fee twice because apt had different address but was literally the same driveway 2 on left and 2 on right. A fee for calling to have tanks picked up $199 and a delivery fee for all deliveries for the year $418)
