I would no longer classify Vanguard as a brokerage firm. They were great 20 years ago when I originally opened my 401K with them through the company I worked for at the time. Now, they behave more like used car dealers (no offense if you're a used car dealer). I have no clue how a once highly reputable company could plunge so far, but charging fees and providing atrocious customer service seems to be the only thing they are good at now. First, moving cash from your bank account to ****************** is like taking a voyage on the Mayflower. It takes forever to land, and even then, Vanguard temporarily freezes the funds. I think it took me a week simply to purchase stock. Second, I own stock in a foreign company, and when I found out that Vanguard had begun charging a fee for owning foreign stock, I decided it was probably time to move my funds to another broker. I called Vanguard, and the rep told me that if I rolled over my shares, they would be frozen for what sounded like a lengthy period. When I explained that this could cause me to potentially lose a lot of money if my stock declined during the period, the rep essentially shrugged his shoulders. So, I decided to just stay with Vanguard since they made it sound like rolling over my account would take an act of Congress. Later, I found out that they had begun charging a $100 fee to close an account. They also did not accept my stock dividends when they were issued (which I feel must surely violate some SEC regulation). That's when I decided it was time to go. I contacted my other brokerage firm. They simply asked me for the Vanguard account numbers, extracted funds from ******************, and my shares landed in my new account within a few days unscathed and unfrozen. If your investments are important to you, stay away from Vanguard.

Vanguard is the worst company ever. I needed to do a rollover and they refused to do it with my taking the *** which Fidelity did not require and by broker tried telling them as well it was not required. They are impossible to deal with and it takes forever to get thru they phone system. I would never invest with them.

I have two 401k accounts to close with this company. They are super old don't even remember the month and year of termination. They refuse to help me . I can provide all pedigree information. I already closed the accounts but only received 2 out of 3 checks. They owe me another check for 2K . The people are so rude and refuse to ask any questions other than termination and hire date. I have two jobs and I don't even know which job . The statement doesn't have the jobs on them. worst company I have ever dealt with . If I could give them 0 stars I would. They don't even deserve a single star.

Stay away from this investment companywhat an absolute joke. Their customer service is terrible and they have no idea what theyre talking about. I was *** for my Dad and these people did everything they could to make the process difficult, if not impossible. I had to submit the paperwork 3 times. I called and was told they didnt have it, only to call back and find out they did have it. Then their supposed law team tried to deny the *** was durable when the state statute cited in the *** does in fact mean the *** is durable. They tried to tell me I had to get a new *** even though the one I had was prepared by elder law lawyers in my Dads state of residence and referenced the exact state statute that makes it a durable ***. I was told by customer service I could not speak to their legal team, I would have to write them a letter. I wasted so much time on the phone with these ridiculous people and every time I refuted their claims, they came up with another problem with the submitted *** paperwork. Save yourself and your loved ones the trouble and invest your money somewhere else!!

If i could zero stars i would. Stay away !! ****************: 0/10 I invested my funds and 72 hours later my account was disabled without any heads up. After contacting Vanguard, The offshore representatives could not give me any answers to why my account was disabled, but I was told the research team would reach out to me in 72 business hours. It has been 2 1/2 weeks and I have not been given a resolution or access to my funds. I asked for my funds to be returned as I did not want to do business with Vanguard any longer. I was not allowed to close my account. I received an email from Vanguard stating to check my account for new messages. I attempted to login into my account to check my messages. Unfortunately, my account was still disabled. I called Vanguard to get some information on the message that they sent me and no one could give me an answer, again. Once this is over I will take my money and run. **************** claims they put in a work order to the research team every time I call and they ask for my phone number. Why do you ask for my phone number every time I call?? If I have an account you should have my phone number on file. This is so frustrating. Again, stay away.

My siblings and I inherited a couple of accounts at ******************. It was a simple three-way split. So far, my brother has inherited far more than a third, my sister received a little more than a third, and I have received exactly $0. We were told to wait five to seven days and have spoken with multiple people. Its been two weeks. It only gets worse every time we look at our accounts. There seems to be no logic behind the dumps of funds they drop in my siblings accounts. Perhaps ****************** could invest in a calculator.

Horrible customer service run by foreigners. Significant amount of my life savings and the customer rep cannot understand basic English questions like when can I expect a check? They wont give you a name and wont commit to anything. Its useless. May as well go full AI and fire them or give the jobs back to Americans who could easily do them.

Vanguard locked me out from my own account when I initiate a fund transfer out of it. They did not inform me anything about it. I have not been able to access my account almost 2 months now. I called them multiple times, every week, for just to tell me to wait for them to call back. I have not received any calls with resolution. I do not recommend Vanguard to any body.

Please stay away from Vanguard they do no have competent people it will cost you thousands of dollars They have kind people unfortunately they don't have competent people to handle issues which in turn cost you the customer thousands of dollars with no way to get help or recoup your losses. I would not use them or recommend not investing any money with them.
