      On Sunday, August 25, 2024 @ 3:40 p.m., I went to visit my storage unit. When I got to Cubesmart, they were still open because they closed at 3:45 pm on Sundays. I started to reverse into the building, and when most of my vehicle was inside the building, it came to a sudden stop without any press of the brake. I exited the vehicle and saw that the rolling gate had stopped on the roof of my vehicle. It stopped at the windshield rubber and the roof. The gate continued to operate while the vehicle was under it because the sensor was defective. I immediately contacted the store manager, and he walked over because the incident happened at the 1816 Boston Road location. The store manager saw the damages, then reassured me that NYPD is not necessary. He took my information and said his manager would contact me. On the 27th of August not getting a call from Cubesmart, I went to 1810 Southern Boulevard and spoke to the store manager. He informed me that they were still reviewing the footage, so I returned home. I went back on the 29th of August, again I was told they were still reviewing footage. The third week in September I was told to expect a call from the general manager. When my phone did ring, I would answer, but the person at the other end of the line would not say anything. The call was from a cubesmart contact number, and it would happen a couple of times. Finally, after a few emails to customer service, I received a general release via email from the general manager. I told him a rental vehicle is needed, and he responded, "They can't afford to pay me for a rental vehicle." He said not to pay a monthly fee. I didn't pay the fee for a month, but I was charged a late fee of $35.00. I was advised not to sign the general release and get it rewritten. I tried calling the G.M, but he is not answering his phone. Then out of retaliation, they raised the monthly fee to my unit by $43.00, but I must drive around with these damages to the roof of my vehicle. HELP!

      I've had nothing but problems with this CubeSmart location at 6512 14th Street West Bradenton Florida They don't return their calls. I've been there a dozen times and six of them they're not there whether it's 10:00 a.m. 11:00 a.m. 2:00 p.m. 3:00 p.m. I am in a FEMA hotel due to the hurricane and losing my roof and having to move out. I rented a car, loaded up everything for my hotel room because I had to check out, loaded up the car brought it to storage and they weren't there. And the worst part was my car was full of things to put into my storage and they put a lock on my storage because I had a combo lock on there. No one told me at all that the combo lock wouldn't work. I even returned one of their locks because I told them I had my own. No one told me it would not be sufficient. So they changed it by putting another lock on there. I could not get in my storage I had to return the car by 1:00 so now all of my stuff that I was supposed to put in storage for my hotel room is now in limbo. This has caused me significant stress. I called to ask why they didn't call me they said they did call me. This is a lie because it would be on my call log or it would be on my voice messages have they left me a message. They did neither Leaving the customer locked out of their own unit without any notification is unacceptable. I also went to the 10x10 and a few days after that I told him I needed another one and they told me no problem. No one Not one person told me in all the times I spoke to them about the second unit that it would be an increased charge. Double of what my first one was. Not one person told me. Until it came out of my bank account and it was double the first unit. I did complain and they did reverse the additional charges. Baiting and then switching charges, and not informing customers .. is unacceptable. Bad bad management. And they lie I strongly discourage anyone using CubeSmart... Find a more reputable company or be disappointed

      If i could give a zero, I would!They are a complete rip-off! They increase my storage bill twice in less than 6 months. I'm never dealing with these legal thieves!

      My unit has been inaccessible for over a month now. The building has no power and I cant get an answer about when they expect to have the power restored. I need pictures that are in the climate controlled unit for my daughters upcoming wedding. I have called several times a week every week and I keep getting the run around. They said the goal was to have the power restored last week and that an email would be sent so that customers could inspect their units. Im frustrated that no one returns my calls and a resolution has not been given for getting the pictures I need from the unit. Very disappointing and I am concerned that items will be warped from the heat. I dont recommend using Cube Smart for your self storage. I asked what would happen if I was moving and needed my stuff from the unit. The response was its unsafe to go to the unit until the power is restored. I dont even understand why the power is out at this facility in the first place.

      Prices for unit going up every 4 month for 30$. Is that fair for customer? My salary doesn`t grow fast as this shady business

      I've been using CubeSmart in ************ to store my things after I moved from ***. Yesterday, I went to my storage unit and disgust doesn't even begin to describe the condition of it. There were HUGE SPIDERS everywhere! My unit was infested!! It was also covered in webs, there were COCKROACHES, I saw a packet of what looked like RAT POISONING (in my unit), and I kept hearing something that sounded like a snake or rat running around (luckily I didn't see one). When I called, the women I spoke with told me to file a claim with my homeowners insurance. Today, this dump called and REFUSED to have pest control come and they also refuse to reimburse me for the months I trusted these slumlords with my possessions. LOL NO sweetie, CubeSmart will pay for any damages and reimburse any fees or they will see me in court. I'm about to report this joke of business with the city and state so no one else has to endure the h*** I'm going through.

      While we understand that power outages happen. There is no reason that a storage facility should not have backup power and a way for RV and cars to leave there facility. This facility lost power and chained the gate closed with our RV inside. We missed grandkids birthday and had we know we would have gotten our rig out early but NO notice went out ahead of the storm letting us know what would happen in the event of a power outage for an extended period of time. We only got ONE email saying it would be closed during the storm. Even worse they didnt even send out updates of the ongoing issue. You had to drive to the facility to find out for your self. Very bad service

      Location manager and district manager lied about my contract and are now trying to cover themselves by trying to blame me for their documented and provable lies.

      The manager is not very transparent about the auction process. I was told that I had until a certain date, September 27th to pay on my storage. When I called the manager, stated that the unit had been sold and that whoever paid first was who it would belong to. My daughter was on her way and the manager called and told me that the unit had been paid for. I asked to speak to the person or persons that bought the unit and she said they paid for it and put the lock on it and they are gone. First of all, I was told that I couldn't make the payment online, that I had to come in person. I just happened to call the automated system and it was saying I could make a payment. When I mentioned it to her, Mrs. ***** she then said I could pay online or in person. I'm not happy about the fact that this could've been taken care of before now, by me paying online. There was no explanation as far as how the process goes for selling my unit. I was given a date to pay by and that's what I was attempting to do and then it gets sold when I let her know that my daughter was on her way. Better yet, I could've paid online. I have had my belongings moved from a POD to ***** and to Cubesmart. Cubesmart was by far the WORSE ************* cameras where F is located. It smells like urine when you first walk in and the air isn't as cool as it should be, to be climate controlled.

      That is between mysel, cubesmart & the bbb not for the public. It is a shame that the bbb is more concerned about receiving reviews of businesses rather than ligitimate complaints .
