      ZERO STARS!!!!!!
This is the (employee paid) insurance provided by my employer and it is everything all the below reviews say and more. I am beginning to see why so many people die from breast cancer every day. I was charged over $950 for a mammogram that should have been preventative services. Cigna would literally not lift a finger to get the claim changed. They even said that they couldn't contact my provider because they didn't have a number. WTH is that? The service provided by Cigna is an absolute joke and nonexistent. I am so glad that my employer is going with a different company next year. If you can avoid this company, you will be better off for it.

A blood test was deemed "not medically necessary" even if it had been ordered by my doctor because I have been having digestion issues for nearly 8 months now.
I try to submit an appeal, their customer service counters themselves, their forum posts lie to you. The only way to appeal AND TO HAVE AN ACTUAL DOCTOR LOOK AT THE CLAIM is the physically mail or fax them the form. It is designed explicitly to make you give up before you start because I assure you, this company hates you and does not want to give you a dime for coverage. Absolutely disgraceful.

I had somewhat high iron levels when my annual wellness labs were conducted and my primary care provider referred me to a specialist for further review. I went in and met with the hematologist for 10 minutes in which no additional labs were drawn, nothing was done other than him to explain anatomy and how blood flows through the circulatory system. It concluded with him stating no further action was needed and he was not concerned with my labs. A month later I get a bill in the mail, they charge $565 for a "new patient fee", my insurance only covered part of that so I was on the hook for over $200 out of pocket. I tried contesting it with both the office and the insurance to no avail. Shame on the office for charging highway robbery for rendering NO service, and shame on Cigna for failing to pursue that office and question the validity of the charges.

Cigna is the worst insurance company!!! The customer service is a joke! A payment came out of my account double. I am still waiting on a refund check 6 months later. When I terminated my policy on May 18 they dated my termination date to be in February. Therefore my doctor claims from March-May we’re denied and I now have a responsibility of $650 to my doctors office. I have called and been in contact for MONTHS to resolve this issue. I’m constantly transferred, hung up on, or given different information from each representative. They continuously deny my request for the termination date to be corrected. I have asked multiple times to investigate in terms of bringing up phone calls, etc. to show I have complied and done all things necessary to try and resolve this issue. This is short and simple of what I have dealt with over the past 6 months. I’ve decided to take this L and move forward because I’m so exhausted after speaking to countless representatives and waiting around. Please save your time and money!!!

Cigna has the worst customer service. The representatives are terrible, unhelpful, and the business practices bully techniques. The web experience is terrible and unclear. Their processes are rotten

Signature over $2,000 out of my pocket and when I needed them they were nowhere to be found literally. They did not tell me that I couldn't reach him on the weekends before I enrolled. They did not tell me that the Methodist care I picked out would not be there for the weekend for me. I spent over 24 hours in agonizing pain and cannot get any help whatsoever. I will be calling my social security office and I will be discontinuing my medicare. And after reading all these reviews from all you people I don't see why Social Security Office does business with them. Apparently they don't care either I'll just have to discontinue it and take that $2,000 a year I pay and just save it for my own personal needs, I'm still in pain not as bad as it was but these people took all that money and not one damn bit of help. And after reading all these reviews I think I'm the lucky one. All I did is have severe neck strain. It hurt as bad as an abscessed tooth. But not nearly as bad as what I've read about some of you guys. Well the good news is your Lawless acts will be remembered when they come in front of God. God does not show favoritism. And they will have the rewards for their misdeeds. So much for your corporate world Cigna. You will have no more of my money

They deny coverage for at least HALF of what our doctor deems necessary for our health. I already have a high deductible policy and then they deny so much and it doesn’t even go toward my deductible. My son has ADHD along with anxiety and other social emotional concerns but apparently Cigna knows what my child needs more than the experts who have worked with him for the last 10 years!!!!

Do yourself a favor and avoid this insurance company at all costs. As others have mentioned when you don't need anything special they are fine but as soon as a problem arises is when you find out just how truly awful this company is.
I had an issue with my account and was issued a new ID number in April of this year. When I was issued a new ID number they failed to carry over all my medical claims from January-March and basically reset my medical deductible. I noticed this in May when I started receiving medical bills with large out of pocket costs after having already reached my deductible under my old ID number.
I first called on May 9th to get the issue straightened out. I spent 2 hours on the phone explaining to several different people what the problem was and how it needed to be resolved as everyone I spoke with seemed to be very confused. I had to call back on May 31st, June 15th, June 23rd, July 13th, July 25th and now again on August 18th. Each time I explained to the person on the phone what the problem was and what needed to be done to resolve the issue. Each time I was given the same line that it would be resolved in 5-10 or 7-10 business days.
It wasn't until June 21st that they finally started moving the claims from my old ID number to the new ID number. But they conveniently missed a rather large claim from Jan 7th that was not transferred over.
On July 25th I was promised that the last remaining claims would be transferred over and all new claims would be reprocessed properly in 7-10 business days. On August 8th I received a call that the final claims from my original ID number had been transferred. At that time I was also promised that all new claims still needed to be reprocessed but that it would take another 5 business days.
On August 18th the new claims still had not been reprocessed properly. After calling I was told that the a new review was opened on August 16th and that it would take another 7 business days to process the request.

The worst! Denied a procedure based solely on location!! Makes zero sense and was not willing to work out a solution! I'd rather deal with United Healthcare than Cigna!!! Wish I could leave a zero star rate for this company.
