      Horrible service. I filed a short term disability claim and have not been able to get a hold of my Claims Examiner, only ever able to leave a message for her through other customer service reps. **** never received a call back from her. It is painfully clear that they throw constant paperwork and phone tag obstacles at clients to prevent them from paying out on claims. Absolutely shameful and I will be canceling my short term disability policy through them as soon as I can, because why would I pay in an exorbitant amount in premiums just to be jerked around trying to get 60% pay for one week of missed work? I couldnt possibly afford to take off more time than that and now its clear I couldnt even afford to miss that much work with this insurance policy. Avoid this company at all costs.

      My company hired Reliance Matrix for ADA ************* requests. They gave me less than 15 days to return my ********** The letter was dated May 31 and I didn't receive it until June 3. I called the representative and her voicemail was outdated stating that she was out of office until May 26 yet we were in June. Then her mailbox was full. I wrote an email and asked for an extension and she said no. I contacted HR to let them know what was happening. The doctor provided the certification and now the company rejected my doctor's ********** I wrote back to the representative and told her I will not engage with a company that has an F on the BBB or one star with Consumer Affairs. I sent the links to the reviews to HR today. I didn't want to get HR involved but they need to know. I also wrote back to representative and told her that I will not communicate any further. I asked for an *************. The doctor's ********* is clear. I signed a waiver to give up my medical records which I will rescind. CORPORATIONS that do business with this company need to read the reviews. I am sick and cannot deal with this type of run around.

      As far as I am concerned this company is the worst I have ever dealt with. My mother, at the age of 82 was conned into purchasing a policy, that she was led to believe would cover her end of life expenses. She paid $10,000 up front. She passed on December 19, 2023, having just turned 93. Going through her things I came a crossed a letter from Reliance saying she needed to make an election of options pursuant to the contract since a 10 year period was elapsing. One of the options was the cash surrender of the policy for $12,218.00. I contacted Reliance and notified them of her passing. I am her eldest son. I was sent paperwork to fill out which required a death certificate. I obtained the death certificate the end of January 2024 and immediately submitted the required paperwork, a copy of her will naming me as her executor. I asked for a copy of mother's policy. Reliance refused, saying I needed a court order. Reliance also said that now the only option was to receive quarterly payments of $309.00 per quarter for another 10 years. Reliance acknowledge that I was listed beneficiary on the policy. Three months later and only after contacting the Insurance Commissioner, did they provide a copy of the policy. Despite my mother being bed ridden, in and out of the hospital and in a care unit for the last 4 months of her life the policy converted to this quarterly payment on November 23, 2023, less than a month before her death. A time when she was incapable of making a decision nor was anyone else aware. Reliance continues to argue that to make an exception would be a breach of their own contract. I believe time for selecting an option should have been tolled (extended) during mother's incapacity. My mother was *******************************.

      Heh a credit rating of "-C"... I wish it was that good. This organization is absolutely horrible to deal with. **************** is non existent.The only interest they have is in making money off people with disabilities through predatory and unfair behavior. Good luck getting a hold of anyone to even answer a question, never mind ensure prompt payments when you become disabled. A bunch of crooks.

      My husband has been trying since Dec. 4th to withdraw funds and claim file Dec. 14, 2023 to withdraw his money and it's January 11th 2024 and he still hasn't received it! We went to his advisor who requested all the money be withdrawn and sent to a new company and still no funds have been sent to the new company which I'm beginning to think is just as bad as the first!!! Don't do business with this company you will regret it we're going to hire a lawyer next if not resolved this week!

      In October 2021, I had to have an emergency double by-pass on my left leg because of complete blockage. Popliteal Artery. I was cut from my thigh to my ankle. They had to remove muscle from bone all the way to harvest blood veins. I had to beg and beg for someone to speak to me. It felt like they just wanted or were waiting for me to die. There is no humanity in this company. I would be ashamed to work for them. They need to lose their license to administer anything to Human beings! They solely made the emotional devastation a hundred times worse. THEY DO NOT CARE!!!

      Stay away from this company. They are horrible heartless and greedy.

      This has been the most frustrating experience I have had with an insurance company. They screwed my family out months of income and heavily affected my emotional & mental health at the worst time of my life.

      The claim examiner is not an empathic professional who cares, is pleasant to communicate with, nor responsive. I should not have to chase for updates and information. He just sent threatening type of letters through the mail or portal. The web portal & app is useless.

      My medical team diagnosed that I suffer PPD, anxiety, & PTSD due to a traumatic delivery, hospital stay, & NICU experience. My baby & I are fortunate to be alive given what we went through.

      I am furious that my claim was dismissed when my doctor deemed me unfit to return to work. My job duties require me to be mentally & emotionally sharp. I expect Reliance Standard insurance to provide the coverage I have paid for, but instead I am met with grief and added stress during the most challenging & stressful period of my life. This experience has impacted my well being negatively causing hives on my body and I feel taken advantage of. It took me over 2 months to gathered myself to put together an appeal letter with supporting documentations.

      They will not process our hospital indemnity claim. It has been sitting in pending for months. They won't return calls, emails....nothing. Agents lie and say they are escalating your claim and then you never hear back. They say they don't have a legal department for your lawyer to speak to. They also say they don't case calls so nobody can see who told you what each time you call. They have no issue taking your money but they sure don't like to pay out claims.

      Worst company for insurance claims I have ever dealt with! Trying to get my $50 wellness benefit for over two months now. Customer Service agents are idiots. They have no clue on how to respond to questions or tell you what is going on with your claim. Keep getting the run around over $50. All they say is not my department but I will forward to the person that handles these wellness benefits. Then Angela K. says, oh, i can see where ur claim was denied in error and i will get someone to process it. That was 4 weeks ago, hate to hang that long!!!

      these people should be jailed. I had a severe health emergency due to Crohns disease to the tune of me having to sell my house. my claims examiner never answered my phone calls and only answered my emails if I put in a ticket, sometimes multiple tickets. they closed my claim multiple times despite doctors notes that told them to extend them. I had to sit on the phone probably 5 hours per week minimum and be treated like absolute dirt in order to complete my short term disability claim. I filed a report with the better business bureau but I don't see it going anywhere. shame on this company!
