      Reliance is absolutely a scam company. I totally agree with everyones comments. I submitted my claim for STD in November 2022 and was denied. They received all records, documents and forms required. My claim is currently with the Appeals unit under review again. I have had the same STD claims in 2018 and 2019 which were approved and now they are denying this claim stating I do not fall under "Disability" when my doctor has stated otherwise. I have dealt with other company's and they have had no problem accepting my claims. If anyone has contacted an attorney please let me know who so I can also contact them and file a claim against this company.

      This company has an ethical issue in addition to customer service, and staff competency. They notified me on 11/19 me about the termination of my disability claim with the last payment on 10/20. WOW! Can any company be cruller than that? Happy thanksgiving to you Reliance! I don’t even think when a company fired they employee for wrong doing will be so cold blooded and pick such a bad timing and the person in charge would then go off on vacation right after the letter was sent.
      I will appeal as you have contradicted your own analysis and take some of the providers’ point in time comments out of context as ‘final’ discharge? However, the appeal process is not transparent and is totally bias because it is operated by their own unit. It can be a joke all around! Japan does have a very high standard on quality and treatment of their customers. I used to work in in there and may consider reaching out to my colleagues who are on the board there.

      It seems this company will drag its feet when it comes to paying out claims. I’ve been dealing with short term disability and will be returning to work before I even see my first check. They make you jump through hoops. And trying to get a hold of an agent is a pain. There’s always an issue holding back payment. Total scam

      I also agree with all the reviews. It's very hard to get them to pay LTD benefits I believe that they are waiting that i succumb to my injuries so they have not have to pay out any $$, the adjusters are heartless and not caring and callous to the hardships the claimant is going through, and make it very difficult to release some funds to keep the heat, lights on or food on the table, not even offer alternative solutions. During "open enrollment" at my employer meeting, they sold a dream just like a life insurance for the living after a serious injury or illness, so like a fool I bought into their disability insurance scam, the pivot point for them is that they will file for SSA benefits for you and hope that the ssa would keep tou busy and redirect the fault away from them, the blame of financial hardship will fall on ssa not Reliance.(using the government as a scapegoat). Guess that business model is based in their financial greed in exchange of the suffering of their customers.The only remedy is "call Sam Berstien" law firm to get the funds that is due.
