The company should not have charged a fee for a CPAP machine on day one. The insurance company stated they should not have charged any money day one and should have billed to insurance first. There is a recorded transcript of a call made on July 5, 2023 where I was promised a full refund but it was denied many times and they even asked for the machine back. They eventually did sent the full refund but I will not cash the checks until this matter is resolved. They need to pay me the full refund, allow me to keep the CPAP machine, place no further charges on my account, remove my credit card from their file, pay the remaining amount due after insurance pays, and give me all of this in writing. They have refused to give me the transcripts which is a HIPAA violation and 3 different managers have not returned my calls. All they will tell me is there is a "letter" on the way to me and no details were give about this letter. The reason these are my requests, which are very reasonable is because of the way I have been treated and the constant ignoring of my calls. I always had to call for updates. It is also unacceptable that 3 different managers would not return my calls. I have had approximately $1628 is lost wages for having to make daily calls and turning down part time jobs because I am calling them almost daily. A local office did finally provide the transcripts but the corp office denied me this which is a clear HIPAA violation and they will not take my calls any longer.

AdaptHealth is the only diabetes equipment provider that my insurance contracts with. They have incorrectly billed my insurance and sent the resulting non-payment to collections three times now. Each time takes 2+ hours on the phone to fix. They also have no records of a number of different phone calls or transactions. For example, I have been waiting for an order since March 2023. I spent 2 hours on the phone with a representative on 7/28/2023. We updated my billing and insurance information to be correct once again. We rebilled the debt that was waiting to go to collections (again, fully paid by insurance if billed correctly). I was assured that my order for medical supplies, which keep me alive, was being shipped that day. I have not received them. I called on 08/09/2023 and they have no record of that call, the debt is still on my account, the order was not shipped due to the debt, and I have 3 days worth of supplies left. To be very clear, AdaptHealth did this in October 2022 and did not ship my supplies to the point where I fully ran out. My body does not manage blood sugar without the insulin pump and CGM system working together. I tried to manage manually with insulin shots and ended up with blood sugars of over 600 for multiple days, leading to diabetic ketoacidosis. I could have died then and I can potentially die in three to five days if this company does not actually do what it says it does.

I returned $104.90 of supplies and AdaptHealth refuses to refund my money. On 12/16/22 I received a CPAP machine & various related supplies from the AdaptHealth AeroCare location in Athens, GA. I was given more supplies than I needed, so after the holidays, I attempted to contact them about returning the unneeded supplies. After over 2 weeks of many phone calls and transfers, I talked to *************************** on 1/24. After discussing the items and the invoice, she sent me an itemized invoice and authorized the return of the unneeded items, then emailed me a *** Return Label on 1/25. The label noted that I had 90 days to use it. I returned the unopened items, which they accepted, within that time frame but never received my refund. I contacted them via their website and received an email from *********************** on 6/14 stating that they received my return, but couldn't issue a refund because no payments were made on the invoice. I immediately emailed her back and attached documentation showing the invoice was paid in full. She never responded, even after repeated attempts to contact her. I called them and they refused to put me through to her, then I was told that they didn't issue a refund because the items were returned after the 30-day limit. This supposed limit obviously wasn't an issue when the return was authorized. On 7/25, I contacted them via their website, explaining everything in detail and asking that a manager contact me and that I needed a refund, or the returned items sent back to me. Otherwise I would be sending no more payments for the machine rental until I had exhausted the amount owed to me. They never responded. This is not appropriate business behavior. The return was authorized & a return label issued by their employee after 30 days. I wouldn't have sent $104.90 worth of supplies back knowing that I wouldn't get my money back. Now they have my money AND the supplies that I paid for, and refuse to contact me. That is unscrupulous.

This company is a total nightmare. I received a cpap machine last year out of precaution. It was not a dire necessity and I got it solely because I had already met my deductible for the year and it should have cost close to nothing. It was intended to be a short term treatment. Adapt submitted pre authorization under a different company name which was in network. Then they started billing me under another entity that was out of network which obvious cost significantly more. After going back and fourth with them and involving my insurance company (who also had an extremely difficult time dealing with them), they kept billing incorrectly month after month. I eventually spoke with my health provider and advised I was returning the machine. Adapt (***** / **** ******* - all the same company using different names and network levels) would not allow me to return the machine in person where I got it and instead sent a *** return box. I didnt trust them and took a ton of photos and meticulously documented tracking numbers and confirmations etc. which is lucky for me because it seems like they waited for the tracking to be scrubbed from *** before trying to pull a fast one. The machine was confirmed to have been delivered to them January 19 2023. I just now, on August 4, 2023, received an email stating I owe them money for rental fees from January 22, 2023 - current date. They have also presumably gone ahead and billed my insurance company who has been informed to to pay on these fraudulent claims. Since they sent this bill after hours I cant even speak to someone until Monday. I am not playing around anymore and not waiting until Monday to file this complaint. This is absolutely ridiculous and Ive had enough. Avoid this company at all costs. This is clearly a reoccurring issue and I just wish I had read these complaints and reviews before blindly accepting my doctors referral. I work in the legal field and am not afraid to pursue this to the fullest extent if I need to.

On 8/28/23 at 11:52am EST I received an email from the Adapt Health Resolution Specialist. The email contained a reconciled account history which showed my account was at $0. She also attached a resolution letter which indicated There is no pending balance on the account. Your account has been inactivated, with no credit card information on file and you will receive no future notifications for service. I responded and thanked the specialist for her assistance. HOWEVER, at 6:43pm EST I received another email containing 4 additional outstanding invoices. I am extremely unhappy as just hours earlier I was assured my account was inactive and this could not happen again. I have no faith in this company whatsoever. I have responded to the specialist and demanded this issue be further escalated for immediate handling.

This is the second complaint I'm filing on Adapthealth the first complaint I filed was this company tried to bill me more money than what the contract was signed for. We came to a resolution, and was refunded the money that they owed me. Now I received a bill on 7/31/2023 at 6:50pm stating that they are charging me $51.34 for a machine I do not have or used in over a month. I also want to note that this charge is over the amount that the contract was signed for originally as well. The company stated that these charges accrued before ending the contract. I have not done business with this company or use their business since my first complaint. I would like this company to remove me from the billing and contact log and stop charging me for a faults contract and a machine I do not have or use anymore.

In December 2022, I received a new CPAP machine from ********, designated as the supplier for ongoing medical supplies by ******* due to product recalls. In March 2023, ******** began pressuring me to "re-order" CPAP supplies through frequent emails, calls, and texts, claiming their "Rapid Reorder" process considered my insurance coverage. Believing the supplies were fully covered, I ordered in April. In June, I received multiple daily emails, texts, and calls stating my card on file had expired. I explained the card was removed after insurance paid off the CPAP rental in April. To my surprise, ******** informed me the supplies weren't fully covered, and I was responsible for the balance. This contradicted their earlier assurances, causing frustration. I was also told returns weren't accepted after 30 days. ******** initiated debt collection despite the unresolved billing dispute, continuously contacting me despite requests to stop. Now, they've resumed unwanted sales communication. This mix of pushy sales tactics and possible unethical debt collection has left me deeply disappointed and feeling taken advantage of.

In the response the BBB has forwarded to me from  AdaptHealth, it only says that they are will to work with me to resolve the issue, but what exactly does that mean? I am still receiving collection calls, texts and emails multiple times a day from all of their companies. Adapt Health,  ********, ******* *********** and now some other company that is under the Adapt Health umbrella are all calling me, texting me, and emailing me multiple times a day. I was very clear in my complaint, this company needs to cease and desist ALL COMMUNICATION with me and they need to adjust my bill due to them down to zero.        Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: this company is not making any efforts to resolve this issue with me. I spoke with their collections department and are not offering any options other than to pay them. I have been very clear since the beginning AdaptHealth Care and their affiliates stated in their high pressure sales communications that the supplies that were ordered were covered by my insurance then later sent me a bill for the supplies after their return period expired. If they made an error by not verifying that the supplies were covered, then they should be the party to suffer a loss. But instead they are executing unlawfully and unethical collection activities against. The bill started at $87 today I received a bill for $120. Why is the bill going up? But they are telling the BBB that they are willing to resolve the issue. Nothing could be further from the truth than that statement.

I was told my cpap machine was 100% covered by both my insrances by adapthealth. They then charged me for a portion of the machine. They then credited me for that amount 1 day later after talking to me. They then tried several months later to do the same. I did not pay them and after several phone calls they dropped it from bill. Now they tried charging me a rental fee which I did not agree to. It seams like they just keep trying to get extra money out of people while threatening to send it to "Collections" if you don't pay. I'm afraid they might be trying this on elderly. Thats why I'm writting to bbb.

I have a Cpap machine from what originally was ********* ********, then turned into ********* ********, Adapt Health Companies. I have paid check after check after check for these constant bills. I have the cashed/deposited checks and this company will not provide me with any kind of invoice as to where this money was applied, I have called so many times and they continually say that they have not received any of these checks, even when I have the returned checks in front of me. The company was overpaid due to check error in writing and in processing by the bank. Amount due from company is over $500.00, details in attached. Processing for getting a return has been extremely difficult with very little help from the company in getting it resolved. All of the ownership for communication has happened from me with little if not updates along the way.

This has not been resolved and I did not see anything that I was suppose to respond to and if I missed it I apologize.  This has been an on-going issue and I still do not have a refund.  There is no one that you can talk to resolve and customer service is less than helpful.  Can you reopen and when and if I ever get my refund I will gladly close this complaint.  Thank you!

The check from AdaptHealth came in the mail today 9/14/2023.  It took many calls from 7/12/2023 until 9/14/2023 but at least I got my money back.  Thank you for allowing this to be reported.  The company customer service and refund time is extremely slow and flustrating. I am certain they would have not waited without interest added if I had owed them money for over 2 months.
