On June 6 the company trimmed a tree in our neighbor's back yard. They threw the trimmed branches on top of our chain link fence and into our yard and left all the branches.

On May 05, 2023, we observed Asplundh dumping a load from one of their trucks early that day. Upon reviewing recorded video from cameras placed in the area, it was confirmed that Asplundh has been doing so for many years. They admited to doing so on camera (cell phone) but now are saying it was not them.We would like them to be honest and take care of the mess they knowingly created. Further, they said they had permission which is a complete lie as I am the contact/property manager/representative since before the problem started and have never been approached nor given permision.

       Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:  The answer that they gave is a pad answer.  They said they have legal right to dump there.  They do not.  They said they would clean it all up.  They now said they would do one area.  Their activity is criminal.  It is illegal dumping.  They need to clean it all up.  Being "in contact" is not a resolution or a written plan of action.  Unacceptable.

On May 1, 2023, Asplundh workers caused damage to my vehicle; They left deep scratches on my door. The incident happened at the ****** location in Clifton, New Jersey. My car was parked in the receiving area of ******, while I was working. I emailed the company, received a phone call the next day, saying that he was going to look around the area that the incident occurred. I met with him to show the damage's. I even brought him into our office and showed him the surveillance footage with my assistant general manager. He started to side step questions we asked, and later saying that there is no evidence of the incident. He even stated his employees do not go between people's cars because the pole saws don't fit. My assistant general manager witnessed the representative saying that. In the video we see three people walking with poles between my car, aggressively yanking on the tree limbs. They also did not have any signs stating that they were going to do any work on May 1st. But they did block off parts of main street of Bridewell, where they were working.

      Hello,

The supervisor did meet with ************** about his ***** car however he did not provide any evidence showing the vehicle was damaged by the crew. The supervisor confirmed that the crew was working in the area that day. When parked ***** cars have cameras that capture a 360-degree view that also records activity outside the vehicle. There is a camera in the front and one in the back of the vehicle. The camera starts to record as soon as someone approaches the car. ************** was asked to present footage showing the damage was done by a crew member, but he stated he didn't have any. The supervisor was transparent and willing to compensate for any damage if proof was provided.

       Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:  Asplundh fails to acknowledge the incident. My shift started at 1230 on May 1st.  Asplundh works trimmed the trees near my brand new vehicle. At 2:45 came outside to check on my car because a witnessed claimed the tree guys damaged the blue *****. Watched the video ( provided a screen shot of time of incident  which was around 1:30 pm).  No other person or object was parked) Police report filed around 6 pm.  Now Asplundh only wants proof from my car, so this company would only fess up to the damages to cars with camera's. Makes you wonder how many other peoples property where damaged through their services.

Asplundh cut a tree or trees yesterday 4/20/23 and did not clean up properly. They piled brush under the bridge and I spoke with one of the workers and told him that was my access to clean a pipe for the church and that I mowed that area. No results.I told the worker that I just wanted it to look like it did before they arrived.

Asplundh crew was trimming trees along Fairview Road in Glenmoore PA on 3/31 at 5:15PM. As my wife was driving home from work, she encountered their detour while they were trimming trees along the road. Crew's equipment was taking up the entire traveling lane, and their bucket truck stabilizers were crossing the double line into the next lane as well. Because of this, they were detouring car's off the shoulder of the road into the rocks and mud along the side of the road--this created a huge cut in the soft ground from all the vehicles having to do this. Because of this, the front left rim of my wifes brand new car incurred extensive surface damage due to their negligence in refusing to close off the road entirely while conducting work, why exactly the job foremen thought it would be wise to detour cars off the road is beyond me. On my way to work this morning, I went through the same area, and the crew was doing the exact same thing, it appeared that the homeowner living where cars were being detoured was none too thrilled about the damage being caused to their property as well.I have already made an appointment to refinish the rim of my wifes car, it is $250--and I expect that Asplundh will be reimbursing me for the cost of this.

I was gone from my residence from 03/06-03/13 My neighbor had informed me that Asplundh had been remove trees and brushes for power line right of way I had no prior knowledge of the company coming to remove them. After returning to my home I found two bushes knocked out into my yard preventing a riding mower access to the back and and a lot of debris, wood chips and small limbs. As there are small children around this concrete carport and yard I proceed to remove those items from my private property. I immediately went to the website and asked to speak to a supervisor to help me find out why these items hadn't been removed BEFORE they had left. I have spoken to one worker who was the supervisor of the job being done at my house. I explained to him what happened and told him I had personally removed what I could of these items and paid the gentleman who mows my yard $75.00 Both Asplundh employees were very polite to start with but when I told them to rectify the problem I expected compensation for myself and what I had paid out. A total of $150.00. I felt this was reasonable. The first gentleman didnt give me his name but the supervisor was named ***** @ ###-###-####. Both of them didn't want to pay me anything. ***** suggested it was my fault as I didn't inform them prior to cleaning up my property. I wasn't about to wait on them as they already proven to me they did want to try to resolve this. If my two small nieces had stepped on the debris and lost their footing and got hurt I couldn't live with that outcome. Both were very rude and angry when I wanted compensation and said no way nothing they could do. By the way Ive worked at customers houses before and a simple tarp would have prevented all this

      Hello,

General Foreperson ***** ******* and his crews worked this particular location on Wednesday, 3/8/23, and were working in the general area the following week as well. *** ******* states below that he was gone from his residence on 3/6 and returned on 3/13. No complaint was made to Asplundh until an email was received by Manger ***** **** on 3/19/23. At no point did *** ******* attempt to stop any crews working in the area during the week he had returned. After the complaint was received, ***** ******* visited the location and observed the small number of chips on the ground that *** ******* had sent in his complaint (see attached photos that were sent in *** *******’s original complaint). It appeared that nothing had been “cleaned” up by *** *******. There was no one home at the time ***** ******* visited the location, so he made several attempts to call *** ******* to address his complaint. After several attempts throughout the day, *** ******* finally answered. *** ******* told ***** ******* about the chips in a grassy area where he parked cars and two small bushes that were leaning out towards his yard. ***** ******* offered to send a crew to tidy up anything *** ******* thought needed it but he was insistent about being compensated for his alleged “clean up.” *** ******* even dropped his asking amount to $75.00, down from the $150.00 he requested in his original complaint. ***** ******* explained that he could not provide any compensation, and *** ******* became agitated and asked to speak to ***** *******’s supervisor. ***** ******* called me to inform me that *** ******* wanted to speak to him. I called *** *******’s numbers several times with only a voicemail recording answering. After several attempts, I left *** ******* a voicemail with my name, title, contact number, and instructions to return my call at his earliest convenience, but I never received a call back from *** *******. After several days, *** ******* contacted ***** ******* again, requesting a call from his supervisor. He explained that his supervisor had left him a message days ago but never received a call but told *** ******* that he would contact his supervisor after hanging up with him. ***** ******* called me after his call with *** *******, informing me that he wished to speak with me. I then called *** ******* again, but this time he answered the phone. He explained his complaint, and I told *** ******* that we would be more than happy to address any issues he felt were not done to his liking that was within the scope of the work we performed. I told *** ******* that ***** ******* had visited the site days before when the initial complaint was made and that he observed the small amount of wood chips from his photos that he alleges were cleaned up. I again reiterated that we would be more than glad to tidy up the area, but *** ******* only seemed concerned about getting paid and became increasingly agitated. He finally stated, “Just tell me if you’re going to help me out or not?” I again told *** ******* that we would be more than happy to tidy up whatever he felt needed it but that we could not provide compensation for something that we were not given the opportunity to rectify. He stated, “That’s all I wanted to hear,” and hung up the phone.

Something to note from his BBB complaint that differs from his original complaint is that *** ******* states he “had no prior knowledge of the company coming to remove them (*** ******* refereeing to his alleged lack of knowledge of crews coming to work at this location).” However, his original complaint states that “I was told that anything you cut on my maintained yard would be removed (This information would have been communicated by a work planner prior to crews working at this location).” *** ******* states in his BBB complaint that there were “a lot of debris, wood chips and small limbs” that were left. There was never any mention of “a lot of debris and small limbs” in his original complaint, nor did he speak of this on the phone.  He also stated that “. I immediately went to the website and asked to speak to a supervisor to help me find out why these items hadn't been removed BEFORE they had left.” However, *** ******* states that he returned on 3/13, but no complaint/email was made to Asplundh until 3/19/23, five days after he returned home.

      Thank you

I am rejecting this response because: The business references my not stopping them from working however
I was out of town until AFTER they had worked on my property.   I will certainly conceed I have the dates wrong as I am terrible with specific dates.   However there is no doub the mess the company left on my property and I  spoke to them as soon as I got back.    Also the supervisor suggest I allow them to rectify their mess and simply wait to use my property till they get it clean.   I DID NOT and I simply ask the fee I had paid the person who cuts my grass the extra he charges to help me remove it.    I DROPPED any compensation for myself cleaning up the company's mess.     They have been rude unreasonable an untruthful in the events of this event.    I truly feel the only recourse is litigation

The idea this company is interested in any public service is ridiculous.    I wish to express to anyone do not allow them on your property anytime

On Jan 25, 2023 Two trucks from this company damaged my newly laid gravel driveway and backyard. Basically turned it into a mud pit. I don't have parking in front of my house so I spent close to $2000 and built this 1000ft gravel driveway going from the main road to my backyard. After about an hour of two trucks spinning the company was able to get one truck free and left leaving one truck stuck. They came back two days later to retrieve it and didn't notify me or attempt fixing any damage. I contacted their office and got a response 3 days later. They sent out one of the drivers that had originally damaged property to look at damage and come to resolution. From the git go, they denied %50 of the damage and said they believe it was already like this and only wanted to repair a very minimal portion of damage. I had to spend half the day getting photo's from my security cameras and Vehicle dash cam which clearly show the damage wasn't there the day before. Without even asking they came out and put about 2 very small piles of gravel down and i had thought they fixed it. After inspecting work, they actually made it worse by taking gravel that I had intentionally built up in low spots and spread it out to a very thin layer and now I can't get my car out without scrubbing the bumper. Not to mention they didn't even attempt to fix 2 of the mud spots near beginning of driveway. Little do they know, I have video footage of the whole incident and will provide if needed. All I asked of them was to fix the damage they created and from day one was treated like somehow it was my fault that they destroyed my private property. Now my only option is to have the quarry deliver more gravel and spend a couple days shoveling......

       Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: All parts that where damaged where not repaired. The heavy trucks mashed down 3-4 inches of gravel into ground and they didn't replace enough to bring it back up to where it was. Not to mention they spread out the mIn section on curve part that is at bottom of backyard and now it is super thin. I told them the only way i would agree is if all parts where fixed. I signed off on the last 8' section where gravel goes to an end in backyard. The company is trying to say certain parts of the driveway where like that so,I provided them with dash cam footage from the day before they damaged it,clearly showing that it wasn't like that. After i provided the video evidence, they just said they would take care of it. They did nothing to take care of the muddy low spots from driveway start to driveway middle. I didn't ask them to replace gravel on entire driveway. Just the low spots and muddy mess that they created with their heavy truck when they got stuck and tore it up. I was more then reasonable and provided evidence as i have the entire incident on video. The way this business handled this was very unproffesional. You don't destroy someones private property then treat them like a criminal when they ask for it to be fixed. If they don't want to fix it,thats okay.  I will leave this report up for everyone else to see the level of unproffesionalism this business offers and potential liabilities in the future. -

On Febuary 5th 2023 Asplundh tree company came out under contract with **** power to clear trees around power lines. They were here for 2 days completing the job they had a mulcher chipper with him so I assumed that they would be picking up the mess they left on the ground and they actually told me that they would. When I got home from work on day two the ground was littered with limbs from multiple trees up-and-down my driveway. It's been more than enough tune for them to pick up there mess. Me and my disabled mother live here and I have had no choice to pay a handy man who is working for cheap labor out of the kindness of his heart help us cut up and clean up the large limbs and brush left by the asplundh tree service. I would like to see asplundh take responsibility for the lack of follow thur and ablity of the employees to complete the job in a way that does not compromise the home owner. This has put a financial burden on a already restricted income. The handy man helping me is charging me $100 a day and considering he has been working at it for 2 days 8 to 10 hours a day I believe that is more than reasonable.

      Good morning

This complaint has been resolved. There was a miscommunication between the complainant and the neighbor who actually made the request. A representative spoke with the complainant, and she said she would update the BBB complaint to show this issue as resolved.

      Thank you!

[A default letter is provided here which indicates your acceptance of the business's response.  If you wish, you may update it before sending it.]

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is 60 percent satisfactory to me. The gentleman that was paid to clean up the mess was doing so when the company called and he finished the same day. I am very satisfied for the fast response of the company and how considerate the man was about coming out to fix the issue. Thank you for your help

      Regards,

My internet cable was ripped out of the side of my house while they were lowering a cherry picker bucket. They did not attempt to contact me or knock on the door, they curled up the ripped cable after the box on the side of the house exploded and left it sitting on the side of the road and drove off. I want to know that something was said to the employees at the bare minimum regarding their carelessness. Now my 82 year old grandmother cannot contact emergency services if something happens to her.

      Dear Better Business Bureau,

Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC (Asplundh) is contracted by the utility company to conduct vegetation line clearance work to ensure uninterrupted power. Asplundh did not conduct work at the location in question. The Asplundh employee noticed the down communication line while commuting to a jobsite. The employee moved the communication line out of the roadway and continued to the jobsite. Asplundh attempted to contact the complainant twice to discuss further.

      Sincerely,

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the response. If no reason is received your complaint will be closed as Answered]

       Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

I was not contacted. Additionally, we personally witnessed Asplundh working on the lines and watched them lower the bucket and break the line. We were standing outside watching when it happened. This is a bold faced lie on behalf of Asplundh. I called the local Asplundh office and was told it wasn't their problem, it was a problem for our cable provider despite them breaking it

I live off a private road and I myself maintain the last half mile of that road. I put gravel on it every year. I keep all the ditches clean from debris and dress them up on a monthly basis, to assure that the mountain water run off dose not destroy my road. The whole point is I spend my money and my time to keep a nice road that's not so ruff on my family's vehicles. But for the last 10 days they have been running trucks and equipment back and forth in the rain to the point. I have no gravel left on my road. They also have rutted up the ditches all the way down the road where the u just pull over and sit and talk. I have never seen the road In such bad shape it nothing but mud and the water hits the ruts and just backs up. They need to do what any good honest business would do and put gravel back on the road the way it was and re dress the ditches. It's not fair t4o me to have
