Just signed up with Amica. ******* was very personable and helpful. The website is easy to use and so far, we are pleased we made the switch to Amica. The ability for Amica to combine auto, home and umbrella coverage is a big plus. Some of the other companies wanted to sub it out to other companies. Multiple bills versus 1 consolidated for all of our insurance needs. The rates were reasonable and competitive.Amica Mutual Insurance Company

DEFINITELY DO NOT WAIST YOUR TIME W THIS COMPANY , LIARS!! So i call them after reading what appears to be good reviews on the web looking for homeowners policy and specifically asked if there where writing insurance in ********* and she said yes we are , asked if we are on the gulf coast , i said yes considered the gulf coast , so after numerous call back and forth of my requirements , way to many calls to list separately and me having to get a home appraiser and even going up on my premium couple thousand dollars on the quote twice because of my home appraisaing higher due to square footage I had originally told them and losing my 15 % discount because I coudnt bring my auto policy cb over w them also I was still willing to purchase it at a higher quote that was giving to me , so after about 2 weeks back and forth 15 calls later after she said everything looks good and I agreed on the price she says ok let me turn it over to our approval **** , so today after all that waisted time back & forth she calls to inform me 3 days before my expiration on my policy now that they are unfortunately unable to offer me insurance due to the area .WOW what a bunch of liars these people or but I am looking at it now as a positive because u read on bbb where it seems as if they s**** over everyone , nothing but horrible horrible reviews from hundreds of long term customers , so Im guessing a blessing in disguise because im sure I would have been on the list if they would have accepted me and took my 12k plus , im assuming they are writing there own reviews on the internet because if u read em they are god and can do no wrong but bbb always tells the truth from actual customers , do your diligent research , thanks good luck -negative stars if I couldAmica Mutual Insurance Company

My wife got a policy and at the time of her policy she was living in ************** and she has an investment property in ************** even tho my wifes license was out of **************. ********************** decided to deny our claim due to the fact that the car was assumed to not be parked in **************, even though they collected payments once something happened, **** was not there to support my wife and acted in bad faith. Do not recommend this insurance company.Amica Mutual Insurance Company

One of the worst insurance company. I don't even understand why Consumer Reports rank Amica so high. I have just written comment there to let them know. I would give Amica a 0 star even before I insure with them.I wanted to move all my home, auto, umbrella policies over to Amica, considering its highest ratings in Consumer Reports. However, after the experience, and further reading the review here in BBB, I am glad that I have not done that yet and I have changed my mind completely now.The sales rep go round and round asking for endless questions that other big insurance companies I work with at the same time have never asked. For example, they asked for explanation about my claim (not at-fault), Letter of Experience, Letter to prove that my property damage claim before was due to catastrophe in nature. I have to keep producing tons and tons of document to the sales rep and she keep changing the policy and even refuse to offer me umbrella policy. I can't believe they are unable to find this information themselves in the insurance database...at least, 3 other major insurance companies I am working with never have these dump question and requests that wasted me endless time.Amica Mutual Insurance Company

1 starI am writing to express my profound dissatisfaction with the inadequate customer service I have received from **********************. I have encountered several issues with your services, including delayed response times, unhelpful representatives, and inconsistent information provided.I would greatly appreciate it if you could provide me with a clear explanation of why these issues have occurred and what steps you plan to take to improve your customer service in the future. As a valued customer, I expect to receive prompt and efficient service, and these issues have left me feeling frustrated and dissatisfied.I find it highly ineffective and undesirable that your customer portal does not allow emails to be sent to Amica management. Therefore, I kindly request that a senior-level manager contacts me to resolve this issue promptly. My husband and I have been insured with Amica for almost 35 years and not just auto, but also homeowners, boat, life and flood insurance. We have had maybe 2-3 claims in all those years, none of which was our faults...My car was stolen from one train station while we were traveling out of the country and was found a few days later at another train station about 90 mins away. I informed Amica immediately and gave them all the information. The car was lockedthe thieves took the key. The car was towed by police to an area station with an impound lot six days ago. Amica simply had to tow the car back to our home. Six days and I am still without a car. I have called the claims rep assigned to us many times without a call backtotally non-responsive. I then called a different rep who said they would put in an emergency callback with my claims rep and still no response. Since then, I have spoken to other reps who listened to my saga, but still my car sits in some lot. Amica has never once called me to let me know is happening or when I can expect my car's towing. This type of service is not only unsatisfactory; it is unacceptable. My husband and I are thinking of pulling out of all our Amica policies....so disappointing!Amica Mutual Insurance Company

Yet another joke of an insurance company. After numerous horrible experiences with another terrible auto insurance company, I did research (I did not actually look here) and it seemed like Amica could be a reasonably good provider and with a clean DMV record, the quote that I got from them was very affordable. I signed up but they told me I have to wait 30 days for the plan to go into affect. Apparently that is the new way with many companies, maybe just in **********?? Anyhow, after submitting more paperwork and photos and back and forth with them for weeks, on the very last day, numerous times the agent was interrogating me with silly ongoing questions like, 'there is an indication of CMML on your registration, what does that mean?'. What do you think it means, do you not deal with these transactions daily?? Yes it means commercial... The car I have which is currently in PNO (planned non-operation) and I am only getting collision/theft coverage on happens to be a hatchback ***** with commercial plates... No other insurance company has ever asked any questions about this... Make a long story short, just as I was trying to make a payment to start the policy at the end of that last day, the agent tells me, 'Sorry sir, our underwriters can not start the policy for you because this is a commercial vehicle.'. You could not figure that out a month ago when I provided you with the registration and did the application?? They are insurance people, yet another industry that in many ways is bankrupting our society; this is likely the way they need to behave so they can feel like they have a psychological edge on the public and in control by rejecting people based on their own incompetence. Pretentious and lame mostly. On to the next...Amica Mutual Insurance Company

They are the worst! I paid full price for renters insurance and when my basement flooded due to broken pipes and severe thunderstorm, they said I was not covered and I lost all my furniture and electronics.Amica Mutual Insurance Company

Amica's risk evaluation to house/property damage through Hover is dismal. The insurance coverage is denied. Overhanging branches is the reason. The overhanging branches are only twigs 2" or less on healthy trees. I had 2 arborists tell me they pose no threat. I have lived is this house for over 48 years, and in those 48 years I have NEVER had to put in a claim for any damages. If empirical rationalizing has anything to with risk assessment, from my perspective, I consider damage to home/property risk almost non-existent. I had a terrible time with agent ******* and her Supervisor (manager of accounts) *****. They evaded my questions and accused me of "twisting things". Simple questions only to get the run around. They refused to answer the question "How large of a branch is considered a threat?" They repeatedly (7 times) said "Well, you have overhanging branches." That's not answering the question. They couldn't tell me specifically what I needed to remove to meet their requirements other than "overhanging branches". In fact, I got the runaround on most questions asked. The account manager wouldn't even give me the name, title, or phone number of her superior since it was dead end with her. I didn't care for their insinuating comments either. One of the worst experiences I've ever had with any business.Amica Mutual Insurance Company
