I am reaching out because Dawn with World Finance Corporation of Illinois located at **** ***** *** ****** ** *****, License Number CI.******* negligently and without my permission did a hard credit pull on my credit report.
On August 10th, 2023 at 12:50 p.m. I called World Finance Corporation of Illinois located in Pekin, IL and spoke to Dawn regarding what my current available renewal amount for my loan was. This inquiry does not require a credit pull as they simply look at what I owe v. what I have paid. At that time I explicitly made it clear that I did not want them to run my credit at this time due to me trying to purchase a house and that I did not think that was a good idea. I told her that if I was interested in doing any type of renewal or new loan, I would call back and discuss it further with them but that I DID NOT want anything done, I was simply just asking about my options, but did not wish to proceed further. I am unsure how I could have made this any more clear to her. There was no further communication.
On August 15th, 2023 I got a notification from ******* that World Finance had run my credit on August 14th, 2023, and it added a hard inquiry to my credit report. This is a clear violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act and was recklessly done with full knowledge that I did not want my credit run for a new loan, as I had no intention of taking out a new loan after being told it would require my credit to be pulled. I have already submitted a verbal and written complaint with the corporate office of World Finance Corporation, however, I would like this reckless behavior to be investigated as it is a heinous act, knowing that I had no intention in proceeding further, and knowing I explicitly stated that I am in the process of trying to purchase a home and did not want my credit pulled and without any type of written or verbal consent from me in order to obtain my records.Business Response

I did not sign any paperwork or documentation that says I have to pay this creditor at this location, or that they could damage my credit score.
Secondly, I made a payment to the woman in the prattville Alabama location of 85 dollars once I apologized and asked for reassurance on my due dates.
Whoever is in the office when i resided in that county in 2020, either forgot to submit it, never made it public, never informed me on my information. Now, my fico score is paying for it. That’s crazy.Business Response

I took a small personal loan out 5 or 6 years ago. I paid every payment on that loan. 2 weeks after I paid off the loan they called and said I owed them another payment. I do not and they can't tell me why I owed them another payment. They've been reporting on my credit the last 5 or 6 years this loan and "late fees" keep increasing even when the account is closed. I've disputed with all credit bureaus multiple times for 5 years. It was 5 month term loan. I paid 5 months and it's accounted for on payment history. It should be known that at current time, I do have a closed account under account # ****** reporting from WFO to ******* that is in violation of the F.C.R.A. and also violates due process of federal law because information on this account is incorrect and affecting my credit rating. A dispute was filed with ******* and denied due to WFO asserting information on report was correct. A copy of the consumer's smart credit 3 bureau report is herein incorporated for review so said error can be ascertained and verified for rectification. Said error is: WFO has/is reporting to ********** and ******** that I have 2- 30 days late, 1- 60 days late, and 2- 90 days late. Contrary, WFO is reporting to ******* that I have twenty three ( 23 ) 90 days late. This is incorrect, false, and ludicrous. There is no way I have 23 90 days late that is being reported to *******!!! Why this incorrect astronomical number is being reported to ******* is unknown to me and befuddling in nature. In their complaint Mr./Ms. ****** stated that their credit report is reflecting incorrectly as they do not have a 90+
days delinquency spanning 23 months.
• Mr./Ms. ****** obtained a loan from the Newnan, GA branch on December 17, 2020, in the amount of

I filed my taxes with this company and paid them all fees I owed for them filing my taxes. I did not owe any state or federal taxes. My husband and I filed separately but at the same time with the same company. I did receive my state and federal tax checks just fine after the fees, but when it was time for the GA Tax Relief checks from Kemp to come in my husband received his full $350 which was sent to our mailbox. My tax relief refund check was sent to World Finance where they had taken everything except a $1 which they cut me a check for. I didn't receive the original check from the State of GA and i know that tax preparers are not supposed to be sent those checks. I have contacted the company with no help from them. In her complaint Ms. ******* stated that she received her state and federal returns correctly, but only received a
$1 of the Georgia Tax Relief Kemp check.
• After our investigation, World agrees with Ms. ******* that her state and federal tax returns and refunds
were handled correctly.
• World cannot determine why the state of Georgia sent funds in the amount of a dollar to be issued to Ms.
*******. World did not receive any information regarding what the dollar was for.
• All fees associated with the filing of Ms. *******’s tax return were correctly taken out at the time Ms.
*******’s state and federal returns came back. No further monies were withheld.
• World urges Ms. ******* to reach out to the Georgia Department of Revenue to receive any information

In his complaint Mr. ***** stated that he reached out to the credit reporting agencies (“Agencies”) and
did not receive a response.
• Mr. ****** received a loan 12050512**** from the Las Cruces, NM branch on January 24, 2018,
in the amount of $945.00 and agreed to repay it in (9) monthly installments of 105.00 beginning
February 24, 2018. Five payments were received totaling $540.50, and the date of first

This letter is in response to the above-referenced complaint filed with your office on June 26, 2023, and received by
our office on June 27, 2023.
In her complaint Ms. ********* stated that she does not have a contract with World.
• Ms. ********* obtained a loan from the Grenada, MS branch on November 26, 2018, in the amount of
$769.56 and agreed to repay it in (9) monthly installments of $89.56 starting on January 03, 2019. No
payments were made, and the account was subsequently charged off on July 12, 2019. The date of first
delinquency is listed as March 31, 2019.
• Please see the contract bearing Ms. *********** signature for the above listed account.
Further, Ms. ********* stated that the amount on the loan should be $769.00 and not $820.00.
• Ms. *********** loan was taken out in the amount of $769.56; however, the account is subject to the accrual
of interest based on the unpaid balance. As of the date of this letter Ms. ********** payoff amount is
$820.25.
As always, World seeks to assist Ms. *********. If she is having difficulty making payments or would like to discuss a
settlement agreement, she may contact our Customer Care center at ************** so we may attempt to be of
further assistance.
