      Complaint ID: ********

      Dear Ms. R*****:

This letter is in response to the above-referenced complaint filed with your office on April 07, 2023, and received by
our office on April 10, 2023.

Ms. ****** obtained a loan from the Union, MO branch on October 13, 2018, in the amount of $1,656.00 and
agreed to repay it in (12) monthly installments of $138.00 starting on November 13, 2018. She made two payments
totaling $276.00, and the date of first delinquency is listed as March 31, 2019. The account was charged-off due to
lack of payments on June 17, 2019. Please see attached the account’s transactional history as evidence.

In her complaint Ms. ****** stated that there were inaccuracies on her credit report and that a dispute she
submitted did not receive any response.

World has not and does not find any inaccuracies in the information being furnished for Ms. ******** account.
World’s obligation under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (“FCRA”) is to furnish accurate account information for a total
of seven years from the date of first delinquency. Ms. Mason’s account will be furnished through March of 2026.

World has only received electronic disputes from the credit reporting agencies (“Agencies”). World can find no
evidence of receiving a direct dispute from Ms. Denham. The electronic disputes were responded back to the
Agencies within the timeframe allowed by the FCRA. The most recent response was sent back on 4/17/2023.

As always, World seeks to assist Ms. ******. If she is having difficulty making payments or would like to discuss a

On February 7, 2023, I applied for a loan via World Finance Corp and received funds in the sum of $950.00. It was understood at the time, if I paid this loan off "early" (no dates given beyond 3/22) the fees would be reduced, paperwork showed fees as Acquisition charge: $95.00; Installment Account Handling Charge: $220.00 with installment payments listed as $115.00 x 11 from 03/22/23 - 01/22/24. I received no correspondence from World Finance after the deposit to my account . On March 22, 2023, I went into the local branch to pay off the loan in full, as the online portal was showing the balance as 1265.00 - text reminder was requested and nothing was ever sent. At this time, I was told that the pay off amount was 1081.69, when I asked about the amount I was simply told that it was "fees and interest". I requested a receipt and was given one that stated that the PRINCIPAL loan amount was 1081.69, which is not accurate. I attempted to review my online account and discovered that it had been deactivated. On March 24, 2023, I sent an email to Customer Communication asking that they provide an itemized receipt for the account. On March 28, 2023, I received an email from the Customer Communication stating that "Since our customers' security and privacy is a top priority, we are not able to discuss account information over email. Please reach out to our customer care department at 1-888-********, 9-7 Mon - Fri, Eastern Standard time..". Please note that their website instructs customers to express concerns or complaints by Phone, mail, or email and to include name, account number, and attach any supporting documents, which I did. I phoned the care dept. at 4:25 PM CST and a recording stated that "...our office is currently closed please call back at a later time Monday thru Friday 9 AM to 7 PM eastern". Additionally, I have discovered that WF reported my account to the credit bureaus on February 28, 2023 with a starting balance of 950 and current balance of 1081.00.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 04/15/2023

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.

On 02/07/2023, I obtained a loan  from World Finacial (WF) in the amount of $950.00. I have attached the documents that show the originating amount, in addition to the fees that would be assessed IF I CHOSE TO PAY THE $950.00 VIA INSTALLMENTS. This origination amount is also evident in the amount WF originally documented on my credit report and then changed to reflect the fees that they added by the end of the month on February 28, 2023. As of 03/13/2023, I am NOT seeing where WF has updated my account as paid in full on my credit report. They also reported my employer incorrectly. I am asking that the update my payment and remove the incorrect employer name. THIS WAS INCLUDED IN MY ORIGINAL COMPLAINT AND WAS NOT ADDRESSED IN WF's RESPONSE.

During the approval of the loan, I asked about paying the loan in full, because that was always my intent. I was told that if I paid it off "early" fees would be eliminated. In this conversation, like the loan documents, "early" is vague and undefined which I find misleading to the consumer, and based on the wording and practices of World Finacial, it appears intentional and mirrors aspects of predatory lending. I was originally told that the interest would be 60% and the documents document the interest as 56%, another detail showing consistency with providing misinformation.
Again, the original principal balance, also known as the loan amount was $950.00, there were finance charges documented as $315.00. Finance charges are not the original loan amount! Furthermore, the paperwork shows what one will pay if they choose to make installments, again, I did not. WF paperwork lacks transparency on what constitute an "early" payoff and how to avoid the maximum fees possible, but they are very detailed on documenting addressing WHEN and HOW MUCH one will be charged for late payments, "if an installment is not paid in full with five (5) days after its scheduled date....". Even in this response WF is documenting that my loan was paid off "early" but still assessd an Acquisition fee and part of the account handling charge so by paying my loan off 10 months early I saved $183.33 out of $315.00.

Since the filing of this complaint, WF has mailed documents that I have attached. As you can see the payoff receipt does not itemize the charges to show exactly what the customer is being charged. WF provided BB with a document that includes partially itemized charges, as the AC and AHC charges are combined.

Lastly, stating that my email did not include enough identifying information does not solve the issue of stating that a customer should call during a certain timeframe and then have no one answering the calls to receive customer concerns or complaints , and choosing not to respond to the email asking for additional information. Therefore it appears that WF has no intent on providing transparency to its consumers unless they contact 3rd parties such as the BBB. I did decline SMS notifications on the original form due to WF opting for customers to receive marketing text automatically, instead of allowing the consumer to choose the reasons they want to be contacted. I did create an account online and selected text reminders, the system never sent any text at the time of enrollment nor the hours following, before I made payment.

I have accepted from this response that WF will not consider changing their practice, so there is no need for a back and forth, because we will never agree. I am requesting that this complaint be left ACTIVE until WF corrects my credit report information. Thank you.

      Regards,

Re: World Finance Corporation of Tennessee (“World”)
      Consumer: ******** *****
      Complaint ID: ********

      Dear Ms. R*****:

This letter is in response to the above-referenced complaint filed with your office on March 28, 2023, and received by our
      office on March 29, 2023.

Ms. ***** obtained her loan from the ***********, TN branch on February 07, 2023, in the amount of $1265.00 and agreed
to repay it in (11) monthly installments of $115.00 starting on March 22, 2023. She one payoff payment on March 22,
2023, in the amount of $1081.67.

In her complaint Ms. ***** stated that she did not receive any communication from World after requesting texting
      communications.

At the time that Ms. ***** obtained her loan the SMS Notice and Opt-In Form was signed by Ms. ***** as “Declined” even
though the boxes were checked indicating she wished to receive those communications. Based on the “Declined” signature
World did not code Ms. ******* account to receive any text messages regarding her account. Please see the attached
      document as evidence.

Ms. ***** further indicates that she did not understand that the principal amount of the loan was $1081.67 and was not
      given a detailed receipt.

The original principal balance of the account $1265.00 includes the Finance charges of $315.00 and the Amount Financed
of $950.00 and was based on the entire term of eleven months. The Finance charge was calculated by combining the
Acquisition Charge of $95.00 and the Installment Account Handling Charge of $220.00. Since Ms. ***** paid off her loan
early part of the Finance charges were returned and subtracted from the original principal balance. That is the Rebated
Interest (shown as RI on the attached payment history) which totaled $183.33. As that was applied to the original balance
of $1265.00it reduced payoff amount to a principal balance of $1081.67.

World apologizes that Ms. ***** experienced difficulties in reaching our Customer Care center. Unfortunately, the original
email sent in by Ms. ***** did not include enough identify information for us to release personal account details. World’s
goal is to give the best customer service that we can while maintaining a high security on customer’s account information
to protect them from any fraudulent activity.

As always, World wants to assist Ms. ***** in any way that we can. If Ms. ***** has any further questions, please have her
contact the local branch or our Customer Care center at 1-888-******** so we can attempt to be of further service.

      Complaint ID: ********

      Dear Ms. R*****:

This letter is in response to the above-referenced complaint filed with your office on March 28, 2023, and the rejection
received, by our office on April 17, 2023.

Ms. ***** stated in her rejection to our response that she believes that World’s practices are not transparent and
      predatory in nature.

The loan agreement which Ms. ***** signed details the agreed upon APR of 56.00% and the Finance Charge of $315.00.
World disagrees that Ms. ***** was given misleading documentation regarding her loan terms.

Within the signed loan agreement, it is stated (highlighted and attached) that if the loan is paid off early “…you may receive
a refund of part of the Finance Charge.” As the refund amount would vary based on the date of final payment, it is World’s
position that this statement suffices as notification of what could happen based on an early payoff of the account.

World again apologizes that Ms. ***** had difficulties in reaching our Customer Care center.

World did review Ms. *****’s credit report and all account information is being furnished correctly to the credit reporting
agencies (Agencies). World furnishes the same information to all three Agencies once a month. Ms. *****’s account has
been furnished as “Closed, paid in full”.

As always, World wants to assist Ms. ***** in any way that we can. If Ms. ***** has any further questions, please have her
contact the local branch or our Customer Care center at 1-888-******** so we can attempt to be of further service.

This company emailed me to settle a debt. In the email it states if I paid $893.26 by 3/31/23 the account I had with them would be settled in full. I paid this company $893.26 on 3/17/23 and to my surprise this company not only didnt mark this account as settled they told the credit bureaus i still owe them $893! They lied to me and took my money under false pretenses, I want my credit report a fixed stating that I have a zero balance and this account is paid in full or I want all of my money back. Attached are screen shots from my ******** credit report, my receipt from world finance, and the email this company sent me to settle the debt it full.
