I had a gentleman text me saying that I had been approved for a loan, which I have been trying to get to repair the roof on my house. He said that he was from Advance America money lenders and he needed my banking information so that I could send him a sum of money and he would refund it to my account within minutes. I gave him my banking information, my username, my password. I made a huge mistake in doing that!! I had over $800 in my account that is now gone. I then kept calling him repeatedly until he finally answered. He stated that I could get my money back if I would do these sexually explicit things to him, which I will not repeat in this message. He was disgusting and rude!!! I could not believe the things he was saying to me!! I have never been more ashamed and embarrassed in all my life!! This man needs to be put in jail!! He is a disgrace and nasty!!!

      Dear Cindy:

      Purpose Financial, Inc. f/k/a
Advance America, Cash Advance Centers, Inc., (“Advance America”) is in receipt
of a complaint filed by ******* ******. We have thoroughly reviewed and
      appreciate the opportunity to respond.

In the complaint, ******* ****** states,
“I had a gentleman text me saying that I had been approved for a loan, which I
have been trying to get to repair the roof on my house.” ******* ****** states,
“He said that he was from Advance America money lenders and he needed my
banking information so that I could send him a sum of money and he would refund
it to my account within minutes.” ******* ****** states, she was met with
inappropriate and “sexually explicit” language by this gentleman.

Please be advised that the loan in question did not
originate from us, Advance America. Advance America would never operate under
the circumstances mentioned in the complaint with requesting funds upfront or
with regards to the inappropriate and “sexually explicit” language. Further,
Advance America does not operate brick-and-mortar storefront locations in the
state of West Virgina, nor do we offer online services to residents of West
Virgina. The communications stated in the above complaint appear to be part of
an effort to defraud consumers, like ******* ******, by falsely claiming to
represent Advance America. We have previously communicated similar efforts to
state and federal regulators as well as the Federal Bureau of Investigation and
      local law enforcement agencies.

If ******* believes that they have fallen victim to a
potential scam, ******* may wish to visit the FBI reporting website for further
guidance and assistance in reporting this incident. The link to this resource
can be found here: ******************** . It is imperative that ******* exercise caution and diligence in dealing with
any financial transactions, especially those that seem suspicious or
      unfamiliar.

We reiterate that we do not acknowledge the loan described
in the communication. We appreciate the opportunity to clarify this matter and
encourage ******* to reach out to us if you require any additional information
      or assistance.

I was contacted by people telling me that they belong to Advance America by text messages and by phone. I only received one full name... Kelvin S******, Dave and Jason. They did a verification process by reversing money in my bank account from things that were paid previously. I don't know what to do. They threatened me with legal action because I didn't want to continue the process, I didn't want their loan any longer for $6000. And the paperwork with signatures online was NEVER sent to me. I have no paperwork for my records. And the first round of money reversals that they did was sent to them through my cash app via bitcoin. Because my bank refused the cash transactions. Their second round of verification funds that they reversed are still sitting there. I don't know what to trust. I'm changing my passwords with my bank. And these people knew all of my information without me telling them. They just verified it back to me. Telling me about the credit bureaus and the FDIC... Threatening me with a lawsuit. All the while I've never received an email with my documents through this process.
Phone numbers that they used...************ *** ************

On Feb 7 I took out a loan for 750.00 to be paid bi weekly. However since then my hours at work was cut (only 4 hours a week). I am also on disability. I called (3 different people) to try to set up payment arrangements and they all said no because of the type of loan I took out. Since then I keep on getting calls and emails about missed payment.

This company is pretending to be a loan company and I inquired about a loan. They sent me loan details that I was approved for a loan and needed my banking information. I gave them the information thinking I was getting the loan so they could deposit the money. They in turn deposited phoney checks in my name in my account signed by someone else and had me cash app the money to someone else. They kept insisting I keep doing the transactions and they took all my money out my account

I received an email on 3/19/2024 stating that I was approved for a loan of 3000. It gave me the phone number and name of the Loan Officer, i called him back his name is Mr. Peter S*******
Extension Number: #100. After I spoke to him he stated that I needed to pay a insurance fee to start the process. I paid it, then I was told that I needed to pay 195 dollars to release the money into my account, then i received another email asking for 180 for a buisness transfer, then again i had to send another 180 because the deposit had to be split into two transaction's, I had to pay another 180. After paying the the 2nd amount of 180, they told me the card that I used had alreay been used, I sent them a copy of the receipt. Now I have not heard from them, they will not answer the phone or retun my call.

      Dear Cindy:

      Advance
America, Cash Advance Centers of Indiana, Inc. (“Advance America”) is in
receipt of a complaint filed by ***** ********. We have thoroughly reviewed and
      appreciate the opportunity to respond.

      In
the complaint, ***** ******** states, “I received an email on 3/19/2024 stating
that I was approved for a loan of 3000.” ***** ******** states “After I spoke
to him [Mr. Peter S*******] he stated I needed to pay a insurance fee to start
the process” and “I paid it, then I was told that I needed to pay 195 dollars
to release the money into my account, then I received another email asking for
180 for business transfer, then again I had to send another 180 because the
deposit had to be split into two transaction’s.”

      After
a diligent search of our records, there are no accounts using the personal
information provided by ***** ******** in their complaint. Advance America would
never deposit funds into a customer’s account only to request their immediate
return, no would we require or request a customer to pay “insurance” for a
loan. Lastly, Advance America does not offer loans of three thousand dollars
($3000) in the state of Indiana.

      The
actions complained of appears to be part of an effort to defraud consumers,
like ***** ********, by falsely claiming to represent Advance America. Advance
America has previously communicated similar efforts to state and federal
regulators as well as the Federal Bureau of Investigation and local law
      enforcement agencies.

      We
recommend ***** ******** continue to document all details of any
such actions and communications in the future, not disclose any personal
information to the individuals, and, if appropriate, report such communication
to law enforcement or other proper regulatory authorities for further
      investigation.

This company was notified on November 2023 regarding my filing of chapter 13. I did let the company know this information and to contact my attorney. This company continues to send me harassing emails that they are going to take legal action against me if I do not respond to their threats. I have also reported this to my attorney that they do not stop. So everyone is aware of my filing. I want this company to stop with their harassing emails and follow-up the proper way through my legal team.

These guys are slick. They contact you about a personal loan.. 2k to 10k. They approve you when most others won't. They don't ask for collateral. They say to get a loan, you pay insurance. To pay that insurance, they deposit checks in your checking. You then transfer that exact amount to ******* to pay a cash tag They provide. They were supposed to deposit the agreed upon loan amount. After a few days of stalling, abd a 2nd round of paying insurance, and a hold your bank puts on the funds, those checks bounce, leaving you overdrawn whatever those deposits were. I can't believe they got me.
