Carolina Waste & Recycling is claiming I owe them a dollar and have halted my services, but I open the portal to pay and it says I owe nothing. My can is full and I am a disabled vet unable to take care of the issue myself. They have not responded to any emails in which I have requested my service continued or a refund of what has been paid. I am writing to inform you that the issue raised by Mr. Mike Celentano regarding a past-due notification has been resolved. The customer had experienced technology difficulties with our site, which prevented him from making payment.
Upon investigation, we determined that the issue was on our end with our site, and I have assured the customer that we will do everything to prevent similar issues in the future. I have also provided the customer with my direct number, so he can reach out to me directly if hey have any future issues or concerns.
The customer has confirmed that they are satisfied with the resolution. Please consider this matter closed. If you require any further information or documentation, please do not hesitate to contact us.

I have contacted this company over three times via email and phone and they still cannot pick up my garbage in a timely manner. My account is paid in full and I’ve come home to an unemptied trash can. I need my garbage to be emptied ASAP.Business Response

They have not picked up my trash on numerous ocassions of time of service.I made repeated calls concerning non pick up of trash. I requested Supervisors to contact me to rectify this ongoing issue with no return calls or pick up, after being told they were coming several days. I contacted Berkeley County Waste & Sanitation who over sees contract to have them rectify this. I was told today they received email with picture showing another's property with 2 white vehicles , 2 trash cans and that it was picked up already on Wednesday. I informed Berkeley that was not my property , nor cars or 2 cans. My trash still in my driveway waiting for promised pick up that I was told again it be picked up today. I was then informed they weren't coming. I then called Carolina again to speak to a higher up Supervisor as other refuses to call me. I am being labeled as a liar when in truth Carolina are skirting their responsibilities that we Paid for. I want phone call from a Supervisor that clearly does their duties not one that clearly lacks her responsibilities. It is now Holiday Memorial Day Weekend that I wanted this to be rectified prior too. I want an apology of insinuating that I was a liar by providing an incorrect address property not mine. I also want to be reimbursed for my loss of our paid contractual agreement of weekly trash service that was not provided. Now I am dealing with rotten trash, sissy cat litter smell to draw flies in 90 degree weather all week into next week. Hopefully they will show up next week, but I highly doubt it per their past history dictates, never on time and broken promises of return pick ups and return Supervisor phone calls.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:
In the picture that they took from a far distance, my house is on the right side which I circled which clearly shows my trash can at the end of my driveway. I am attaching the circled picture of my trash can showing it was out there to be picked up. We faithfully put our trash can out every Monday afternoon for a Tuesday pick up. We are usually the first ones on our street to put it out at the end of our driveway as we are permanently retired and have no reason to not do so. Carolina Waste also forwarded a picture showing my neighbors house that owns 2 white vehicles and they rent 2 trash cans. We have only rented 1 can and we own a blue Mazda 3. I still have not received a credit on my trash service acct for non pick-up of trash dated as of today June 21st, 3024. . I previously submitted my evidence showing my can was outfront at end of my driveway on day of complaint which I circled showing my trash can. I also enclosed a picture of my residence showing my house with clear picture of my house number on side of garage with my blue mazda registered to us. The last communication from Carolina Waste stated they were seeking further details into the incident. TERRIBLE customer service! My credit card on file with them expired last month, so when they tried to charge my monthly $20 charge, it didn’t go through this time obviously. That’s my fault yes I understand, buuuut let me finish..
Brittany called yesterday and left a voicemail asking for my new card info, and okay I admittedly don’t check my voicemails often either, but I called back around 7pm and left a message saying “Hey I’m so sorry I got a new card in the mail, I don’t wanna leave it on the answering machine but I’ll try back in the morning and give you the new info. Hope y’all will still grab my trash tonight, because my bin is out!” As a joke. Not thinking they would ACTUALLY…yknow, skip my house… over twenty bucks. But that’s *exactly* what happened!!! Are you kidding me?!
I saw the truck lights on my block last night a little after midnight, and it purposely skipped my bin, because apparently they were instructed to do so by the woman who left me a voicemail. Couldn’t bother to send an actual bill, or a text or an email even? I’ve gotten email invoices from them in the past. Heck, could have had one of the guys knock on my door, I’d have paid cash.. It’s twenty bucks, I’m good for it. Sheesh.
What an absolutely PETTY way to lose a customer, and an easy customer at that! I’ve never missed a payment before AND I live alone, so I really only even ever have a whole bin’s worth of garbage to put out like once every three weeks or so anyhow. Oh, and I was away the entire summer too but forgot to freeze my account, so that was almost 4 months straight where I paid them for not even doing anything at all. Doesn’t get any easier than that! But my dang card expires before you can charge one month, and I get immediately put on the do-not-pickup list?!
If y’all want your stupid bin back, it’s outside on the curb in front of my house STILL waiting to be picked up, until tomorrow when I’ll officially assume it’s abandoned and it will go right to the dump!Business Response

This business has repeatedly skipped picking up our garbage. After missing our garbage for the second time in a row on 1/24, I called the following day and asked for a pick up. They told me they would get someone out there that day, which never happened. I called Friday, Monday, and Tuesday multiple times, and each day they tell me it is scheduled for that day. There has been no resolution and judging by the customer reviews, this is happening continuously to others. January 8, 2024 trash pickup lady dropped my can in the truck. She asked if I had a ladder, I told her no that's my job. She texted my address to her supervisor and told me a new can will delivered tomorrow.
January 9, 2024 I called there office to report the problem. I got a message saying they were closed due to inclement weather.
January 10, 2024 I called their office and was told by the lady that she will send a message to get me a new can.
January 11, 2024 I called their office and was told no response from the message but she will send another message to request a new can to be delivered.
January 12, 2024 I called the office and the lady said I see a new can request has been submitted but I have no ideal when you will receive it. She said she will send another message. I asked if I could come pick up the can myself, she replied no.
January 13 and 14, 2024 Office Closed.
January 15, 2024 I called the office and the lady said I see your new can order but I have nothing to do with when it will delivered. She said it could take up to 2 weeks. I said I haven't had a trash can for 7 days and you expect to pay for full service charge? She said I can give you a $5.00 credit.
January 16, 2024 No trash can delivery.
January 17, 2024 No trash can delivery.
I have made numerous phone calls trying to resolve this error on their part with no resolution.
I have ran to to waste disposal site 3 times with my truck using my fuel and time doing their job for something I pay them to do to keep my household clean and sanitary.
Resolution:
I need my new trash can to be delivered immediately.
I need my next Quarterly/3 Month Bill to be $0.00 balance.
I need an in person, personal, sincere apology from Carolina Waste & Recycling LLC Management for their negligence of resolving this infraction in a professional timely matter.
If my resolution requests are not honored I will not close or resolve my BBB complaint and I seek legal counsel to proceed.Business Response

In My 55 Years on this earth, I have never dealt with such an unprofessional and despicable company in my life. to top it off I cannot choose another company and my county seems helpless in dealing with this sham of a company to whom they gave the contract to service the part of the county where I live. They routinely fail to pick up the trash, and when you inquire they are nasty in their response and try to make it seem that you are at fault for not knowing what they pick up and don't pick up, when you request bulk pickups they ignore you for weeks. they do not have a contingency plan to pick up garbage when it's a holiday period like Christmas. My Christmas trash is still in my garage and they have refused to pick it up because it didn't all fit in the garbage can. My calls to the county to complain were met with You can bring it over to the dumpsite yourself. what an absolute mess. so now I have to putt smelly trash into my car to do what I've paid this crap of a company to do. the dumpsite is closed on the days I'm off to take the trash over myself.
******** County needs to rescind this contract and put in place a mechanism for complaints that has teeth and is punitive.

Today is the 7th time in 2 weeks, I've tried to get our yard debris picked up and a trash can picked up. I received a text stating they'd be out for the yard debris yesterday. At 4pm I called to see if they would be out and explained yet again my problem. The rep said she'd call the drivers supervisors as soon as I hung uo.
Still nothing. Todays advertised working hours are 7am to 1130am, yet when I call, theres a recording stating their closed. I live in a neighborhood where we can't leave trashcans or debris out so I've been dragging this in and out every time I've called. I've asked for a trash can to be delivered since July 23. It is Oct 30th. They took my can on accident and continued to bill me. Even after I have called them weekly. My trash is supposed to be picked up on Tuesday. My trash was not picked up on Tuesday. I placed a phone call to the business and was promised a pickup on Wednesday. After the trash was not picked up on Wednesday, I called and found out that my order had been pushed to Thursday. I received a written promise that the trash would be collected Thursday.
Thursday came and went with yet another miss, as did Friday. I made multiple calls and was promised a call back from both a supervisor, and then a manager, neither of which came to fruition. I was finally able to speak to the office manager, Mika, on Friday. Mika explained that the dispatcher had pushed my pickup each day, and I was now scheduled for Saturday. Mika refused to give me written confirmation that my trash would be picked up Saturday, and instead offered me a measly $2 refund in exchange for approximately 3 hours of my time which I had spent getting this far.
As of Friday afternoon, I am expecting a pickup on Saturday. If no pickup occurs on Saturday, I will be speaking to an attorney concerning a breach of contractBusiness Response

I apologize for the miscomunication. We did not send a driver back out because we have video of the driver dumping your can last Tuesday. The problem was probably the cardboard wedged in the can preventing the trash from coming out, with it being an automated truck the driver thought he go it all. Because of you getting the wrong infomation we sent a driver back out today as a courtesy. Tomorrow the driver will check to make sure it is completey empty after he dumps the can.Customer Answer
