***** Recieved a $100 Vanilla **** Gift card in May 2022 for my high school graduation (Meta bank is listed on the back of the card). NEVER USED IT. August 2022 I went onto website listed on the back of the card to activate it. It showed .01 cent balance and shows a charge at the same exact minute I active the card to a company called gendry.live in the amount of $99.99. I called the customer service # on the back of the card so many times and the representatives keep hanging up on me! Meta bank customer service is looking for a ton of personal information that I'm not willing to provide since my information isn't relevant to their gift card. And there response to other people that have complained is email them to resolve.... why so you can try to get into my phone or send spam etc?! I reported Meta bank and Vanilla gift card to the ************************. Im also plastering my story on every social media site ********************************************

Seriously disenchanted with Metabank. My sister has a well known bank that she used to transfer 1,300 to my account on Thursday August the 11th at 930am. It is now Wednesday August the 18th 1130am.....and still no funds added. Her bank said the money was released immediately and I should have had it by 5pm that day. Didn't happen, everytime I call there is a miscommunication ussue. First call I was told, give it 2-3 business days. Monday came,I called and they said give it 3-5 business days. It is now the 6th day...nothing.

If I could give them 0 stars, I would. DO NOT USE *************** issued by MetaBank.
They allowed me to get hacked and did not allow due process to dispute the charges.

My son, who passed away 3 months or so ago according to his employer had an account with Meta Bank. Meta Bank would not give me any information regarding his account. Meta said I would have send certain documents such as his death certificate etc., in order to find out about his account. No one will call me or respond to my emails. I sent all the information Meta requested and have not gotten a response. If there is any money in his account I want it to go to his unborn child. Meta does not care, you cannot talk to anyone and Meta does not respond to my emails. I have an email confirmation that the documents Meta requested were received-no response!! Worst customer service EVER!!! What do you do to get help????????

If I could give zero stars I would. This company known as Meta Bank ****************** deals with pre-paid cards in my case, stimulus debit card for $1400.

To make a long story short, I am 85 years old and I still work because my social security doesn't cover all my bills.
      I have never been arrested.

I never received the debit card in the mail for the 2021 $1400 stimulus money.

With help from my daughter, we finally figured out the phone maze/menu and finally got to speak to a live person, the mystery was solved because the criminal who had stolen the card had used it and so it had 4-5 transactions on the card and then they took the rest of the cash off the card.

When I first called in February of 2022 & spoke to their rep. they said they would send out paperwork for me to fill out and email back immediately for my dispute ( that I had never received the debit card, the transactions were not mine etc. ) I received their paperwork a couple of days later AND I also received a separate letter from them denying my claim.

I hadn't sent the claim paperwork in yet and this company had rubber-stamped a rejection of my claim!

When my daughter and I called them the same day and insisted to know what was going on they apologized and said the agent we spoke to had not submitted the information we gave her over the phone and that's why it was rejected.

It's now August 2022 and they keep rejecting my claim over and over for the stolen debit card.

I NEVER received the card. NONE of those transactions are mine.

I have sent them several statements, and police reports and I've undergone several I.D. checks to confirm that I am who I am.

So my money has been stolen twice. Once when the thief stole the mail / my debit card and twice from meta bank.

I am convinced this is a shady operation and meta bank works very hard not to pay you any money that is due to you.

If you are going through a similar situation with this company do not give up.

      Keep calling them.

I've had a direct deposit with metabank for nearly 15 years. In the last year my card has been fraudulently charged more than 5 times resulting in my card being canceled and my family put in a situation with no cash for DAYS before receiving a new card.. they didn't have any compassion for this and refused to wait for me to pull my money out! I told them this is ridiculous and now i will be changing banks. All they had to say was it was my choice to do so instead of trying to keep a long time customer.

My employer gave me a very generous Rewards Card in Dec 2021 (I am not a banking customer but a recipient of a gift card supplied and supported by MetaBank). I tried to use the card at a local grocery store, it was declined. I called customer service to make sure there was not an issue, the rep asked for the card number, expiration date and the CCV. He explained that the card was not used and I just need to keep trying to use it. A few months later I tried to use the card, it was declined again. I called customer service and found out the card was used in MD at a local store. I never used the card so I reported it stolen. The service team said they we can submit an investigation but needed to know my full name, physical address, birthday, the card number and expiration date but not the CCV. Apparently the CCV is not needed because it's "not in their process" to ask because that would allow a person to use the card. After hearing this my trust with MetaBank went out the window. I think the first rep I talked to used the card, which I explained to the rep. At this point I was not willing to provide my birthday or physical address. I provided all other info. I asked them to use a PO Box as that is my mailing address. When asked why they needed by birthday they did not know, it's just needed is all they would say. The rep submitted with my PO Box and used the current day for my birthday. After 41 days I called back stating I never received the paperwork. The rep transferred me to a supervisor who said she will make sure to mail the docs to my PO Box, still have not received the paperwork, been trying for 4 months now.

We purchased a spendwell debit card for our son. A $150 was but on the card at the store. Was told the card was activated. Our son tried using it while away at camp. It was declined. Thank goodness he had cash, tried again on the 18th of July online store was declined. We called the money was available. Finally spoke with an agent and he stated the card had to be registered. But what was interesting was unable to register it on our phones. So we used our laptop came up when name entered my spendwell-icomland. Card registered. Still unable to use it . Called again ok finally registered the card. But they ask about income, how are you going to be using the card. You have to enter your SS number. Ok, finally was able to order off ******, received an email with balance available. Ok, went to get gas now the balance available was over $65.00. Gas was $40.02 received another email stating balance was zero. Then the card number was different at the top of both emails. The last email stated to activate your card when you receive it in the mail. Ok our son is out of $25.00 and we have to return one item back to ****** and now I'm second thinking about doing this because the money will go back on this card. It's controlled by Metabank. At the bottom the email it states demand deposit. Stay away from this card. Yes, a complaint was filed with the **** and Regulation office and * the Comp Controller of Currency.
