      Ordered a bith certificate Jan 2025. Only thing that works is when they take our money. Phone customer support is non existent but still keeps you on hold for hours. Email support responses after a month asking to contact the state office. If I need to contact state office why are you existing? I eventually went to state office and got the certificate in minutes . After this I asked to cancel my order with them and they are asking me to contact state office to get refund. They are running a scam.

      Here’s the short and sweet. Ordered a birth certificate 10/2/24. Payment total was $44.95. EST delivery date was 10/28/24. It is now 2/3/25 as I write this. I have not had ANY communication from the company. I’ve called and emailed vitalchek countless times. Their customer service does not exist. So one time, I called LexisNexis to complain. They gave me another number to call, which unsurprisingly, no one answered. On top of this, when I go to the vitalchek website and entire my PIN and order number, it says the order does not exist. This company needs to be met with legal action.

      I applied for a birth certificate to use to apply for a passport only to find AFTER they charged me EIGHTY DOLLARS that it won’t arrive until February 2025 and that you can’t cancel your order and get a refund. They don’t tell you the timeline until AFTER they have your money. Ridiculous. I’ll be home from my honeymoon before my birth certificate even arrives. Scam.

      I ordered a birth certificate 3/18/2024, estimated delivery was **** 10/17/2024. I still have not received it 12/5/2024 (2 months late). VitalChek shows it was shipped **** 10/3/2024, I have been calling them the last two months stating it was never received, last they told me they would check and if it hadn't been returned in the mail to NYS they would send a new copy. After speaking to Vital Chek today (and a manager), they said that information they told me was not correct and they could not send a new copy, would have to contact NYS which has no one picking up the phone! Also, nothing they can do only issue refund of VitalChek fee $13.95. So 9 months later, no birth certificate and they will not help process it with NYS. Total waste of time and money, DON'T RECOMMEND!

      This is not necessarily a complaint but unhappiness due to lack of communication. I was born in TN and ordered a birth certificate through VitalChek for passport issuance. After my order, I received an email confirmation that order would take 40-45 days, which is unacceptable to me because my trip is right outside of that time frame. However, I understand that this is no fault of VitalCheks.
      I was able to reach someone from VitalChek that suggested I contact Tennessee Vital Records for an update, which I did. I was advised by Tennessee Vital Records that I could expedite (with a fee) through VitalChek and processing time would be 2-3 weeks instead of 45 days and I was told to place the order over the phone. So, I call Vital Chek again and wait on hold for over an hour to be told that there is no way to expedite this service and to contact Tennessee Vital Records again, so at this point I am at a standstill. I am not wanting a refund, because I still need the birth certificate and I am now aware of the unfortunate 45 day waiting period. I just simply want to know why there has been so much miscommunication from my state of birth and VitalChek and why I am not able to get an accurate update. Lastly, when I check my order over the phone, the only update is my order will be transferred to the TN vital records the following business day, which has been the same update for the past 2 weeks. The online status just says “processing.” If I could get a firm answer on whether or not my order can be expedited, it would be greatly appreciated. Again, I do not want my order canceled because I still need it, however, I would like to know if expediting is an option. Thank you!

      My first clue was when none of the information from my history matched me. Then I sent a copy of my American birth certificate and both pages of my military foreign certificate, and my DL. This was for a death certificate for my mother that I signed off on.
      They told me none of the documents worked because they are not valid. They are valid enough for the federal government to issue a passport, but not for Vitalchek to give me my own mother's death certificate. They told me I had to order a new one.
      I spent $13.95 for a bad attitude and nothing else. They must get very rich on that scam.

      What a terrible organization. They took my money, charged me and expediting fee. I waited the 60 days and when I logged in to check the status, my ordered was cancelled by them! No email, no notice in the mail-NOTHING! When you call the 866 number, no one answers. They keep you on hold forever just to wear you out.
      What sucks is the state of MI sends you to them. What a joke.

      Worst customer service experience. They seem only capable of charging you money, but providing you with no customer sevice. If you call, I guarantee you will be on hold for an hour or more. I wonder if anyone is even manning the phone lines at all. Unfortunately, this is the only company my birth state makes you use to order vital records online.

      If I could rate 0 stars I would.
      This company is a total scam; not only did they charge me 60 dollars, they have no way possible to cancel your order. I have been on hold with their "customer support" for the good part of an hour, and no one has answered the phone since I dialed; they just automatically put you on hold and nothing. A complete scam. I hope they get shut down soon.

      Horrible business model. I paid for a service and they only gave me a certain amount of time to complete it. I missed the allowed time and they refused to reopen my account so I asked for a refund which they also refused. So I paid for a service that I did not receive. SHADY COMPANY DO NOT USE!!!
