Wish there was a 0 star option. Requested death certificate for my mom. after several days i get a message that my request is pending. I go on-line and it does not say why. I call, wait on hold for an hour or more to be told I cannot obtain my mom's death certificate because I submitted a foreign document to prove that she was my mom and Vital check cannot process foreign document. Yes - I was not born in the US but that is why I submitted a translated and notarized copy of my birth certificate. I was told that because I was born in a different country I cannot obtain my mother's death certificate. But if I wanted to I could try again by also submitting my original (non-translated) birth certificate. Totally illogical but tried to do that the next day to find out my order got canceled. no notice as to why or that it was canceled. talked to a supervisor, completely rude and unhelpful who sent me to the State Vital records website which points me right back to Vital Check.

VitalChek is a scam. Ordered my husband's birth certificate in North Carolina over a year ago. You can't reach them by phone, they don't respond to emails, and their website is a joke for finding out about an order. I have all the information they ask for and they still can't check the order. They need to be shut down for scamming people out of their money and their information. This was needed for work. Very unhappy.

I ordered a birth certificate for my son, and I received a letter stating his birth certificate could not be found. Instead of refunding my $13.00 fee for not receiving a product that I paid for they kept redirecting me to contact the vital records office. I had already contacted them, and I received a refund for the fee of the certificate on their end. VitalChek not only was unhelpful in solving this matter, they were rude with responses. Awful company.

The State of Connecticut needs to stop using this service for online birth certificate requests. I placed an order for a birth certificate on February 22, 2023 with an expected delivery date of March 30, 2023. I followed up on May 2, 2023 to find out where the birth certificate was, and VitalChek said they're still working on filling orders from December 29, 2022. I called the Town Clerk's office for the town the certificate was ordered from, and they said they can provide me with a copy today if I bring in the completed application. When I requested to cancel the order from VitalChek, VitalChek told me I couldn't cancel it and they couldn't issue a refund, until I informed them I would dispute the transaction on my credit card and report them to the BBB. Then suddenly they were able to issue a refund. Ridiculous. Just go in person unless you have 6 months to wait.

I have been trying to get my daughters birth certificate for almost a month. Their support service does absolutely nothing, and there is no information as to what they need next from me in order to process.

This is the most incompetent company I have ever encountered. Their customer service is rude and uninformed. They give vague non-answers and are completely disinterested in actually helping someone. I have been strung along by them trying to fulfill orders for almost a month and yet they remain apathetic, disrespectful and inept. Your'e better off driving to whatever state you need records from and dealing with a government office. I wish I could give less that 1 star.

I will not being doing business with this company ever again. The fact that you cannot cancel an order and that one is not informed before placing the order that it cannot be cancelled is very poor business practices. Reportedly, they don't charge your card until the item is sent so they have a way to communicate with the government agency to cancel an order and just don't want to nor have their system set up to do so. If the only option to online order government records is through vitalcheck services and they can't cancel orders that haven't even been filled yet, it is a nice little scam for Vitalcheck and gov't agencies!!! On top of it all, the fee for a NYS birth certificate is ridiculous @ $45.00 (+$8.00 service fee + $16.50 ******) makes not being able to cancel this order a tough one to swallow. Especially when I found out I could go to the city in which my son was born and pay $20.00 and get it that day!!!!

I have continuously asked this company for my mother's death certificate. And have done everything they have asked. I am a disabled person who just lost his only living family. I cannot do anything about her estate because of this. I feel like I'm being scammed and have given all of my sensitive documents. Given my vulnerability this really scare me. Vitalchek has caused me problems in the past, bit here in oklahoma that is what the crematory said is the only way to get her records. Somthing is wrong

They refuse to let me have my own daughters birth certificate. I’ve given them all the personal documents they need but still deny me a replacement. We moved and she can’t get into school.
