  I had initially tried to get my birth certificate through them but it was a major hassle. They had a hard time identifying me, so I didn't finish the process. I called and tried to cancel but the customer rep said since I haven't provided the additional documentation, that I wouldn't get charged. Then, I went with a different certified vendor and got through the process relatively easily. VitalChek emailed me to provide the additional documentation. So, I called again and got it "canceled". I asked for an email to confirm and was told they don't provide cancelation emails. This is 2023, who doesn't provide confirmation emails... that's right, government contracted companies trying to make up for our incompetent state government. They do provide "reminder" emails to finish sending documents, so they can make money. So two weeks later, I get charged by VitalChek. I don't find out from an email though because why would they do that, I was looking through my bank account to check for unusual charges and who charged me... VitalChek. So, I have to call again and wait an hour on the phone. Finally, I talked to a competent customer representative who quickly and without hassle gets me a refund. The competent customer representative I talked to that time is the only reason I give VitalChek 2 stars instead of 1. Get your act together VitalChek??

  Just remember when you are reading these reviews that people are not going to go out of their way to write a five star review if it goes right. I ordered the birth certificate on January 31. I was almost 100% positive I entered in wrong information. The birth certificate was shipped on February 10 and I just received it today, everything went perfectly fine. I checked my order and everything was OK. I don’t know why this place has so many bad reviews. I will be using them again.

  I placed an order for my fathers death certificate in CT in December 22, 2022 and the order cost me over $50 because they said it had to be delivered by Air. The latest estimate on delivery was for Jan 26, 2023. It is Feb 13th and they said it was delayed by CT Health Dept. That they were working on Novembers orders. They said they could not cancel my order or return my money. If I had known it would take this long. I would have gone there in person.

  I would defiantly not use this company if at all possible. They are rude, unhelpful,& can't read. This business should be shut down.

  I hate this company so much. they told me they could not process my birth certificate acknowledgement because the notary's name was (using a fake one) J. M. Doe on his seal and he had written John M. Doe. That's right Vitalchek does not understand how initials work. 45 minutes on hold. For that.

  Horrible service. Spent over $50 for delivery. This company failed to inform me that a signature would be required, meaning you need to be home and awake when the delivery comes. That could be anytime between 9 am to 7 pm. I had my package rescheduled for pick up at a drop off center. When I went to pick up my package, the clerk had a difficult time finding it by my name, as my name wasn't visible.

  I ordered 3 birth certificates. My receipt from VitalChek, states "Birth Certificate" I received 3 records of "live birth". These are not the same. I am unable to get through to the company. The hold time was over an hour. No one answered. Wish I read these before I signed up. The biggest issue is they are being promoted on legitimate State Websites. I'm going to call my congressman about this scam.

  I wish I had read the reviews before ordering a copy of my marriage certificate. I have waited 6 months for this document. They are impossible to reach by phone and do not answer my e-mails. I tried to track my order on their web site by entering my order number and pin number. However, it keeps telling me over and over again to enter my pin number. This company should be put out of business. The New York State health department encourages people to use the Vitalcheck web site. NYS should cancel their contract with them!

  It is unbelievable that a copy of a birth certificate can take 1-100 to be issue and then another week or so to be delivery. it is worse when after that time, you do not get the important documents you already paid for.
  Their website is a joke and customer service a frustrate and unuseful way to claim or just review an order. No one has more information than "your order is in process".
  None of their four telephones work.
  We did not receive the documents or the funds have been refunded $68.50 x 2 since 08/24/2022 and 08/29/2022. There is no way to place a claim or recall the funds.
  THIEVESSS!!!! do not even deserve one star
