Do not order anything through VitalChek. Horrible service. I paid $51.00 for a Cook County Birth Certificate and have been waiting over 15 days now. They will not answer the phone. Tried 5 times and been on hold for over an hour. They don't care. My business would be closed if I treated people like this.

Was directed to this site to get a copy of my birth certificate and the experience was horrible.
After filling out the requested information they asked for proof of documentation, which I immediately submitted and it just sat in the queue for a week. When I reached out to them on the phone I was on hold for 30 mins with no answer. I tried emailing them only to just receive a response saying they need me to submit documents with no reason why the others didn’t work.

On March 21, 2025 i ordered a birth certificate through Vitalchek after reviewing their page and seeing that the process would take take a maximum of 48 hours. Today is March 28 and my order is still in pending. I have spoken with representatives from the company twice and the City of New Yorks vital records department and both times I was told that the issue was on the end of Vital Chek. If I had known that it would have taken more than the time stated on their site, I would have mailed it, and spent $30.00 less. I do not recommend this company if you need a record in a 5 day time frame. It's false advertising.

I have reason to believe this “company” is a scam as they are falsely advertising and have taken quite a bit of money from me but never provided the services I paid for twice now. They do not respond to emails and no one answers the phone number on their website. I have called numerous times and have been on hold as long as 1 hour and 45 minutes.
Never sent me the certificates I ordered, although I uploaded all of the “personal information” they requested as well as provided them my credit card number.
      They never refunded my money.
Most importantly, I asked them to delete my data from their system immediately via email and still, no response.
How is this allowed by our government? They handle the most sacred information to our society. Such a shame.

They are terrible, my son's birth certificate came with a whole in the middle. It's insane! Their customer service is worse, they don't reply emails or pick up the phone at all.

Horrible - Do not do business with this so-called company. They do not follow through with anything as far as the order, the communication is non-existent. 24 days and I am still waiting. Next step is to dispute the charges.

If I could give zero stars I would. I am currently on hold, for the second time at 30 minutes waiting to talk to someone about the email I received asking for documents. I have uploaded my drivers license as well as the signed and notarized form. I have sent multiple emails and just talked to a customer service representative LAST WEEK who told me they were sending a message to my records office to review the submissions. It is now going on a month since I have initially requested my birth certificate when they sent this email for more documents. This company is awful and I would think they’re a scam except they’re the only way to get your birth certificate where I am.

So frustrated! First Birth Certificate was lost by ***. Refunded the money to Vitalchek, (although I paid). A month later Vitalchek refunded me. Ordered 2nd copy of Birth Certificate, paid for expedited shipping. It's been 10 days and when I track my order it says "being processed." My bank accounts got hacked and still after 2 months, no Birth Certificate. I would say this organization is an epic fail. They do not answer their phones. I have waited on hold for over 1 hour. When they called me to refund my first payment, the representative stated, "you didn't pay for telephone support." This is an all time low in customer service.

This is a scam to get more money out of you!!! I recently applied for my birth certificate, for NY. My certificate was requested from New York, New York. Was sent an email stating my info needs to be verified. Now I called up to verify. They explained I picked the wrong address. Staring NYC is not part of New York State. So I explained I verified… just fix it and have it sent. No I have to pay again. Now here is the issue I typed all the info so me verifying my application is **. And to tell me New York City is not apart of New York is even more of a red flag. This is a scam. I recommend another way to get your documents. Do not use this scamming site. It’s best to do it by mail or in person. This company will bill you for not doing anything but waste your time. And it’s a lot cheaper to go another route. These people will rip you off like they did me.
