      THIS IS A SCAM!!!
      If I could leave a ZERO STAR REVIEW, I would.
      I ordered my own birth certificate. They required me to upload an additional document to verify my identity. I uploaded immediately, and they said it would be reviewed within 24-48 hours, and I would receive an email with further instructions. It’s been over a week, and they have not communicated in any way (email, phone, carrier pigeon). I have tried calling and have been on hold for hours trying to speak with someone. I have sent a message through their website support link. No response. They charged me for the service, but they are not providing the service.
      COMPLETE SCAM!!

      Horrible company!! Don't waste your time. They say 35-45 days it's been 4 months and it still say processing. There is no phone number to speak with anyone. A bunch of fraudulent **. No email or mention of refund ?? Karma's a *****!

      VitalChek. I paid for the initial $13 fee and submitted all the necessary documentations on March 14, 2025 and have had my documents kicked back twice. After submitting the correct documentation for a 3rd time, I received an email stating that I needed to submit further documentation. After submitting my documentation on 3/21/2025, I emailed their customer support email to inquire about the other piece of documentation needed with no response back. I have tried calling 2 separate numbers to further investigate this to no avail. I have sent an additional email as a follow up now that my order is on hold. I had to stop payments with my bank and report fraudulent charges with this company. AVOID SCAM!!!

      The company requests you to upload documents then claims they are unacceptable. You upload them again and they claim the same thing after they supposedly review them. Miraculously if you call and wait on hold, they then will look at the documents and the same documents are then deemed acceptsble, The fact is they do not get reviewed on line unless you call them and they will just give you the run around, collect a 12.50 fee that is not refundable and hope you abandon your request. They are extremely difficult to do business with and will rip you off if given the chance. They make getting your own documents a very expensive ($60.00 for your birth certificate) an extremely difficult and costly process. A horrible and inefficient company.

      This company is completely unresponsive and is unreachable by phone or electronically. Sadly it is also the only way to order a copy of a NYC birth certificate online. Incredibly frustrating and aggravating.

      I needed to order the birth and marriage certificates of one of my ancestors from a state records department that contracts with VitalChek. Everything seemed to be going well...they sent an email saying the records were on their way...but then instead of the records I just got a letter saying they couldn't find them. There was no attempt to let me know via email or to ask for more info or anything; just no records.
      I understand that the records department charges for searching even if they don't find the records, but VitalChek kept all the fees including what I paid to get certified documents and extra copies.

      Place an order for a Washington DC birth certificate - the only way to order one from Washington DC. Its been a month, not movement on my account. It has been stuck in "review". They do not answer phones. Online chat told me there was nothing I can do but wait because they were "behind". Eventually the chat person me she was going to mark my account as a rush and of course nothing has happened. Very frustrating because this is the only way to order a birth certificate from DC. (i live to far away to go in person). This company gives all the red flags of a scam yet this is the only way to order a birth certificate from DC.

      I have the same complaint as all the others. Do not use this company! You will never get your birth certificate and they never and the phone! They respond to emails, but they provide false promises and the last email I received, the grammar was not good.

      AVOID. Impossible to reach customer service. We could never log in to their record management page with the PIN they gave us. This company needs to be shut down.

      They are liars, thieves and scam artists. Go to the clerks office directly or health dept. You can order a copy via USPS with a return stamped envelope. Be sure to include copies of your identity paperwork. Ie: birth certificate, ID or DL, and if you had a name change, appropriate certificates you do have.
