    Took 3 months to get my tapes back. I totally understand that they are backed up. When they received my tapes, I was sent an email that they needed more money. So, ended up paying over 200.00 for 9 tapes to be sent in. Got my tapes back, one broke, and all but one with stickers on them saying they couldn’t use them. So what I got for the 215.10 I spent, was about one hour of footage off 1 tape. Tried contacting company 3 times to see if I get refunded the tapes I paid for, but didn’t get, and no response. I would highly advise anyone to use somewhere else but Thus company

    Absolute scam. Charged hundreds of dollars to scan 20 items. Took three months, skipped everything in the box except for four cassette tapes that were trivial and had been included just to fill out the box, and charged me for everything including the 80% of the box they never touched. Stay away!

    I PLACED ORDER TO CONVERT 10 TAPES INTO 40 DVDS AND 1 USB THUMB DRIVE...$215... I GOT AN "ORDER CONFIRMATION EMAIL" FROM LEGACYBOX STATING I WOULD BE NOTIFIED WHEN EMPTY BOX WAS TO BE SENT TO ME TO FILL WITH MY TAPES...I DIDN'T GET NOTIFIED, SO THOUGHT IT WAS SAFE TO CANCEL WITHOUT ANY ISSUES...NEXT DAY GOT BOX IN MAIL!!!...TRIED TO CONTACT LEGACYBOX, BUT THEY DON'T LIST A PHONE NUMBER ON WEBSITE...YOU HAVE TO REQUEST A RETURN EMAIL TELLING YOU STANDARD POLICY RULES...THEY NEVER ACKNOWLEDGED MY POINT THAT I WASN'T NOTIFIED AS THEY PROMISED...I WAS ISSUED A REFUND AFTER 14 DAYS FOR $160....THEY KEPT $55 FOR SENDING ME A PLAIN CARDBOARD BOX WITH A FEW BARCODE STICKERS IN IT THEY PRINTED ON COMPUTER!!!...STAY AWAY FROM THESE COWARDESS SCAMMERS!!!...THEY DONATE MONEY TO CHARITY THAT IS STOLEN FROM YOU!!! THEY LOOK LIKE HEROES, WHILE THEY STEAL FOOD FROM YOUR CHILDREN'S MOUTHS!!!.....SHADY....SHADY.....SHADY!!!!

    My conversion of 40 VHS tapes and film reels was very uneven, and now their low-quality 128-GB flash drive does not work. How miserable. How on earth can BBB give an "A" rating when all of us 28 out of 28 reviewers left a 1 on a 1-to-5 scale?

    This review is for Legacybox’s VHS tape to digital file converting service. I also had a few 8mm reels done and they turned out fine.
    Anyway, I spent a lot of time converting dozens of my mini DV tapes to digital files as I had an old camera that still would play them. For capturing, I used Roxio Easy VHS to DVD 3 Plus which works very well and is simple to operate. Since this process takes a lot of time I decided to send about 17 VHS tapes to Legacybox since they had a 50% off sale and thought I would save some time. They said it can take up to 3 months and kept wanting me to pay extra to move me up in the queue but I was willing to wait. While waiting, I received emails from them saying how excited they are and have the best equipment in the business. Then emails stating there are some quality issues with some of my tapes (not unexpected). I eventually received all my tapes back and a flash drive with all the converted tapes in file format. I cannot express how deeply disappointed I was to see that almost every transfer had serious issues which made then unwatchable. Some would have a blank screen with audio only, others would be jumbled frames constantly then off & on, while others would have a one-inch distorted line throughout the entire video. I broke out my two old VHS players, ran a tape cleaning cassette thru them and was able to FLAWLESSLY play each tape! I then used the above program and was able to FLAWLESSLY capture a so called “tape with Quality issues”. Obviously, the equipment they use is garbage or they do not clean it up between jobs. I tried to contact the company to report their poor product but they do not have a way to do that. Looks like I’m out over $270.00 for their 20 item box and will have to spend many hours doing this the right way.

    Paid $278 for their 20 item box. Didn't receive an email for instructions. Tried to contact them & no response to email. Called the number & could not get a hold of them!! GRRRRR!! I decided this was off to a bad start so I emailed them to cancel my order & provide a refund. They gave me a runaround on that. Took 4 weeks to get $206 back & I was furious!! Contacted them as to why I was shorted $72 & they said it was a restocking fee!!! THEY ARE HORRIBLE!!! DONT USE LEGACY BOX!!

    Biggest waste of money. I have read all the negative online reviews and now I see why after receiving very poorly recorded dvds. First, it took more than 4 months to get my videos. I received an email before they arrived saying a few of my videos could not be converted due to mold. So, I replied asking how I would be reimbursed for 3 videos I paid to get converted. No reply!! Second, the dvds arrived on cheap paper cover. I spent more than 120 dollars, one would think they would come in a plastic case!!! Third, I played one of the dvds, they quality was horrible!! Audio issues that I know was not from my camera as I had gotten some similar videos converted by Costco and quality was a lot better!! I called customer service and sat listening to music for more than 1 hour before it was disconnected.. Dreadful experience overall!! This was definitely the first and last time I use Legacybox… they are quick to take your money and ship a box, slow to deliver sub par results. Buyer beware!!!

    I believe most recent customers (within last 6 months) can agree that this business implemented a full on "damn the torpedoes - full speed ahead" marketing program. The result is they egregiously exceeded their capacity to process the customers they knowingly & fraudulently signed up and accepted orders from. The email I received dated 12/7/22 indicated that my Legacybox was received in good order and since then I have received multiple amateurish email attempting to deflect from their inability to execute in a timely manner - as they fraudulently represented on their website. I strongly believe this is ripe for a class action lawsuit - which I would take on if in fact I had the time to devote to this. I would also like to echo the comments of Susan S. dated 1/2/23 regarding the rating the BBB has assigned to this horrendous business - a business which i will label as a collective of management / leaders who are nothing more than Fakes, Phonies & Frauds!!!

    My experience is similar to the others given here. Took 3 months to return. I sent 10 items and they only digitized 2 of the 10. No one will talk to me. I guess I am just out the money I paid for the other 8 items

    LEGACY BOX IS A SHAM AND A NIGHTMARE! I thought that I’d come up with the perfect way to allow grandparents who can no longer travel, the ability to see their grandkids on a regular basis…BUT LEGACY BOX MASSIVELY SCREWED IT UP…AND THEY ARE TAKING NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR MISTAKE! I sent off 20 tapes and I ORDERED FOUR SETS OF DVDS. When Legacy Box returned the tapes and the DVDs, inside the box, the discs were separated into 4 sets, each set individually bound together. I gift-wrapped each set and sent them off for Christmas. A month later, I start getting texts and e-mails from grandparents that their set contained MULTIPLE COPIES OF THE SAME DVD!!! I immediately e-mailed Legacy Box and informed them of their blunder. I also requested that the company remake the DVDs into actual sets and send them to the grandparents. Do you know what their asinine response was? “We are sorry that you are unsatisfied with the product. However, you ordered 4 copies of each VHS tape. We sent you 4 copies of each tape; therefore, we fulfilled our obligation.” Again, I e-mailed customer service and stated, “You sent me 4 individually wrapped sets of DVDs. A logical person, who had ordered 4 sets of DVDs, would NOT unbind the sets for fear of mixing up the sets. NOTHING in any online or printed literature instructed me to unwrap the sets and organize them myself.” I had already paid close to $1000 for this service, and Legacy Box had the gall to tell me that if I wanted the DVDs redone, that it would be my responsibility to pay for DVDs and for any shipping incurred. And when I pointed out that since it was now becoming MY chore to correlate the sets (and to remedy their error) that I had paid them to sequence, that I should get a refund for doing their job. Damon simply replied, “ Unfortunately we will not be able to offer a refund for this issue as we were able to convert all of your items and you did receive the 4 disc copies that we were supposed to create for you.”
