My move for August 27th was confirmed on August 11th. To my dismay on August 27th only one of the 4 movers showed. When I called (mind you, I called them, they did not call me), I was told initially that they were looking for someone and then ultimately when they couldn't find anyone, they would just to reschedule the move. Just matter of factly, reschedule my move. RESCHEDULE a move I had confirmed for 2 weeks, even exchanged emails with the office a few days prior to the move. A move from a house that had been sold, utilities disconnected on and on. I am not even understanding how the day of/ time of the move, that was even presented to me as an option. I suggested they all find me another mover and pay the difference but that fell on deaf ears. I ended up having to pay more to a bunch of people to get moved totally approximately $1200 (their quote was $700) but I had no choice I had to be out. Additionally, the "hold" they put on my account meant $700+ was unavailable for 10 business days. I had to use various payment options to pay movers.
I emailed the local operations associate and sent a letter the corporate office, neither bothered to respond.

Avoid this service AT ALL COSTS. I had a scheduled a move date over a month out. On the day of the scheduled move, the movers did not show up at all and were completely unresponsive. I had to call customer service twice before finally getting an update nearly five hours after the scheduled time informing me that the movers would not be showing up that day and the soonest they could get to me was two days later. The only compensation they were willing to offer was 20% off and a hotel room while forcing me to take another day off work, potentially more if I'm stuck in the exact same situation again from them. It is has been the worst customer service experience of my life from one of the worst companies I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. At no point was I ever treated like anything other than another paycheck by their employees. If I could rate them lower than one star, I would.

This company is a scam or something like it. Starting with the customer service VERY RUDE staff. Like they have no idea that the customers are paying for the salary. Unexperienced movers, I meant to say not qualified to conduct a smooth move. Very expensive for very poor service.

This company is an absolute disgrace and you should steer well clear from them. ??Not only had they sent the wrong amount of workers for the move, they also didn’t provide the packing materials we ordered. When asked about how to resolve this, they told us to go to Home Depot ourselves and told us to get the wrong amount of packing materials, which is not at all something you expect from a full packing service as expensive as them. ??To add to the stuff up, they then left me on the phone for four hours trying to resolve this matter. Sales pushed off blame to customer service, who did not call me back for hours even while the job was live, and then left me on hold endlessly until eventually I spoke to Emil who cancelled my order (per my request). All the while claiming it was Home Depot’s fault for not sending the boxes and not being accountable. ??Alex and Rob from the Sales team seemed nice enough but relatively incompetent and not focused on the job, and certainly didn’t take the job or customers seriously. ??Again - steer the **** away from this terrible business. Shockingly bad experience.??(We ended up paying for a contractor to move our house instead of trusting these numpties with the move.)

Their crew broke a bar cabinet during our move this July. Despite my filing a claim through their system the next day, and calling their customer support number three times since then, I still have not been contacted by Bellhop about this issue.
I seriously recommend you hire a different company for your move. I've already convinced another friend of mine to switch to a different moving company because of this, and I will continue to direct customers away from their business.
Bellhop, if you're reading this, please reach out regarding support ticket *****.

I booked online the day before my requested move day. (Short notice and tight timeline were due to a series of unrelated issues.) The online system couldn’t guarantee the schedule, so I called twice the following morning to check if they could accommodate my requested time. I was told I was on the schedule for 2pm with a move team assigned.
At 2pm, the movers showed up but the truck did not. The truck “had a flat tire” so the move needed to be cancelled and rescheduled. I strongly suspect that the truck subcontractor double-booked and was making BS excuses based on various things — the last-minute call, lack of effort to resolve the issue (replace the tire?), no direct communication with the driver. The local operations lead couldn’t wrangle the truck driver or find a different truck and told me to call central support.
Central support was clearly a call center with no local knowledge. The representative gave me two unacceptable “options.” First, he said to rent a U-haul truck and Bellhop would reimburse up to $250. (My pickup was at a U-Haul storage facility.) I asked if Bellhop would provide a driver, and he said, “can’t you get a driver from U-Haul?” He could not grasp that U-haul won’t provide drivers. My move needed a 27-foot truck. Biggest I’ve driven was 17-foot and I broke someone’s taillight — I wasn’t going to attempt 27-foot. Surprise surprise, Bellhop could not provide a driver due to insurance. Despite these issues, the representative kept saying that this was a viable option.
The second option offered was to reschedule with a 15% discount. My original move was Friday afternoon. First they said Sunday afternoon, then reversed and said Monday morning. My grad school semester started Monday and none of the offered reschedule times would work with my first week of classes.
I ended up calling local movers until I found someone who could do the next morning. They charged me $200 less than Bellhop quoted. I will never use Bellhop again.

I would give this move provider the lowest rating possible and would not recommend. I sold my house in Durham, NC and hired Bellhop for a local move. The morning of my scheduled move I was advised one of the movers called out and they could not find a backup or complete my move that day. I rescheduled the move for the next morning. The night before I was called by Customer Service team that there was an issue with the truck and asked if I could reschedule again. Very poor company logistic management and communication as the driver and movers would not covey what was going on. Stay away from using the company and save you the stress!

I could write a dissertation about how horrendous Bellhop is, but since I don't have the space, let me try to summarize:
The 2 trucks assigned to us were 1.5 hours and 3.25 hours late on the front end of the move and 1 hour late on the back end. Only one person on the front-end crew had any idea what they were doing—everyone else was a college kid who'd never done a move/had received NO training. They broke furniture in front of me without apology, didn't bother to pad or wrap our stuff, and packed the truck with no care whatsoever, damaging almost everything.
At our destination, we were assigned 6 crew members—only 2 showed up. Eventually, a 3rd person was found, and maybe an hour later a 4th person came who was obviously high. That crew took the mattress protector off of our mattress and dragged it on the concrete and also dragged a velvet couch on the concrete, damaging both.
One driver made misogynistic "jokes" to me and my partner, including telling me after I took off my jacket to reveal a crop top that, "If I had known you were going to be stripping, I would have brought my ones."
A valuable item was stolen from my partner's backpack, which had been placed aside in the primary bedroom closet. We had to file a police report, and Bellhop had to instigate an internal investigation, which went nowhere.
After weeks negotiating with Bellhop over damages/a refund, the most they were willing to pay amounted to a 60% total refund. The legal agreement they sent over contained a non-disparagement clause which would legally bar me from saying anything negative about the company. I told them I wouldn't sign the agreement with that clause in it, and they wouldn't take it out.
I filed a claim with my bank under the Fair Credit Billing Act and eventually won a full refund. Unfortunately, that barely begins to cover the cost of the damages they caused, but at least I can speak freely about my awful experiences with them.
