Use anyone else.I booked them well in advance of my move, but had to postpone (also well in advance) as the apartment I was going to move into was severely damaged by a flood and hailstorm (along with 29 other buildings in the complex.) It was a massive storm and the apartment complex is still waiting on the final number from insurance before they can start work. I have been sitting on moving boxes for a couple of months.Instead of just holding my deposit, Bellhop, kept trying to push a new move date on me. I have no date. I wish i had a date as I want to move. They took ALL of my money for the move. I am going to see if I can get this back through my credit card company or small claims court, but in reading other reviews on social media, it sounds like this is typical behavior. I'd avoid at all costs.

      SCAMMM.
Paid 14000, yes that’s 14K to move from LA to KY. They broke a bookcase, dining bench, my 15 month olds high chair and rocking chair that was purchased less than 1.5 years ago, damaged my couch and a chair. I filed a claim within the 5 day window they gave thinking it would be easily resolved since their website says claims get processed within 5 days. After one month of emailing and calling them, I finally heard back and they offered me $200. yes, that is correct, $200. It is now going on 2 months and they have GHOSTED me again and I have yet to receive any compensation for the damages they caused.

The moving truck was an hour late. Could not fit everything on truck. Said would provide a follow up for the remainder of belongings free of charge. When truck arrived, they opened the back of the truck and scraped the top of the dining room table, they did not cover it at all and the damage ruined the table, not something you can repair. On the day of the follow up move, they never showed up and when I called, they conveniently could not find my reservation number and refused to reschedule unless I agreed to pay an additional $500.00. I ended up renting a Uhaul Cargo Van for $60.00 to get the rest of my things. They submitted a claim for for the damage to my $1000.00 table and offered to pay $40.00 for the damagethis is such an insult since I cant replace it for $40. I would not recommend this company to anyone and their lack of accountability is said.

Bellhop will not stop calling me despite the fact that I never requested a quote or that I requested them to stop. The agent asked me multiple times for my full name and confirmation number even though I repeatedly told him that I had never requested a quote and didn't know how they had my cell number. And even if I had asked for one, I definitely would have chosen not to work with a company that calls people on autodialers and then asks them to hold in a queue for support. This is ridiculous.

I've actually had a decent experience with Bellhops for small local moves and recommended them countless times. That said, after having to go through their claims process, I will never be using them again and would caution anyone considering their services. I paid $7,000 for a long-distance move and while loading my belongings, my dresser was damaged. Obviously these things happen and since the dresser was under $400 from Ikea, I didn't think much of it and simply submitted a claim. After a month of not hearing back and countless emails sent, I was finally referred to a claims associate. They came back with a $60 settlement and after much reluctance raised it to $175 which does not come close to covering the replacement. They pass off all costs to their customers. Do not use unless you're comfortable re-purchasing any items that can be damaged.

Bellhop is the absolute worst! Do not hire them!!! I paid for 4 hours and 5 movers. I got 3 movers who only took 70% of my stuff to the new house. They left the rest at the old house. Then just left everything in the garage at the new house. Didn't bring anything inside. Damaged my walls and door frames badly. After three days discussing with Bellhop, they won't do anything! They actually want me to pay the same amount that I already paid the first time to complete the move. Ridiculous!!!

While my mover and team lead were great, the truck was over an hour late. They didn’t have straps to carry heavy items like a washer and dryer and no waist belts for heavy lifting. I could have bought a pizza for my friends and they would have been on time. ALSO. Bellhop is a broker. They find small moving companies, in my case a manager, a mover and a driver and hire them for specific jobs. Not to mention the scratches and scuffs on almost every piece of my furniture. My movers were friendly but the driver had no issue being late. Spend the extra few hundred for the piece of mind that you’ll have professionals moving your items.

      DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!
      1) Our original scheduled date for the moving van to come and load up was May 27th. We waited at the house for hours on the phone with them until they finally told us the truck wasn't coming. They stayed it would instead come first thing on the 28th (the day we were leaving the state) and they would waive the $400 overnight holding fee. They didn't.
      2) The truck did arrive the next day, it was a rainy day but no big deal. Except the driver did not tell us there was a leak in the truck. When our belongings arrived at the new place, they are soaked. Our new mattress (~ $4,500.00) was ruined. Boxes were literally disintegrating.
      3) I went through the proper channels to file a claim and they came back with a laughable $107.00. After some back and forth - no one in claims will speak to you on the phone - we got $137.00. A total joke.

If I could give negative stars I would! We arranged 4 movers for 6 hours to move us. On the day of the move only 2 individuals showed up. While the guys that showed up worked hard, they were only able to move 1/3 of our belongings. The problems really started when I called and asked about getting the rest of my items moved. I was first insulted by being offered 20% the second move and no money back on the original move. After HOURS on the phone they agreed to refund a portion of the original move but couldn't "reschedule" and additional move until several days later, well after my husband and I would need to return to work. We are now on DAY 7 (post move) and I have yet to receive a single penny of my money from Bellhop that was promised. To make matters worse I had to pay ANOTHER moving company to finish the move. We are now out MULTIPLE days of work and almost $3,000 between the two moving companies! I have moved a lot in my life (20+ times) but this was by far the WORST MOVE OF MY LIFE! Bellhops customer service is a joke and their promises empty.

We did everything on our end ON TIME. Bellhop processed their 10% payment via my account 24-48 hours after I reserved my 8am moving slot. Bellhop deducted the remain 1031 from my account 48 hours before our scheduled 8am move. Once Bellhop confirmed/held the total $1200 for our move Bellhop emails me... LESS THAN 48 HOURS... telling me they need to move my reserved time frame all the way to 2PM unless I can PROVIDE MY OWN TRUCK. Very unprofessional as I am now without any movers to help with my move. If I had my own moving truck I wouldn't have requested assistance from Bellhop.
